Regarding the friendzone chick this is fantastic timing. I literally just talked to a friend about this 2 days ago. She isn't really a "friend" as much as a friend I know through my last job. We worked together for years and would chat etc. She hired me to do some work around her house and while I was painting the bathroom we were chatting and she said that it seems all the good men were either taken or gay and asked my opinion on why she is having such a hard time "finding a man". I looked her dead in the face and asked her if she REALLY wanted to know and she said she absolutely did. I told her straight up that if she truly wanted to find a good man that wanted to be with HER then she has to stop looking in all the same places and start looking in her friendzone because that is the ONLY place she will find a guy who likes her for her and that she will like back. A few hours later when I was packing up to leave she told me that she had been thinking about it and that I was totally right and there is this one guy she has been friends with for a couple of years that she could see herself with. Yesterday when I went back to finish up the painting she told me that she called him and asked him out and they have an official date set for this weekend. She said she NEVER would have even thought that a guy she was "friends" with could be someone she would spend her life with but she can see how she was wrong for so long. Being able to be in contact with or in the presence of something, without being tempted by it, or it even eliciting a reaction/response from you, is the ultimate show of strength. A former addict knows he's fully recovered when he can be in the presence of alcohol without feeling even the slightest compulsion to drink or taste. Hence why I never block exes/former flings. My heart hurts for the future for my son(s) if a woman cooking for her man and leaving him a love note is a lost art being celebrated. I do this for my husband and son ( another son on the way god is good) everyday. Breakfast lunch snacks you name it. Regarding the friendzone chick this is fantastic timing. I literally just talked to a friend about this 2 days ago. She isn't really a "friend" as much as a friend I know through my last job. We worked together for years and would chat etc. She hired me to do some work around her house and while I was painting the bathroom we were chatting and she said that it seems all the good men were either taken or gay and asked my opinion on why she is having such a hard time "finding a man". I looked her dead in the face and asked her if she REALLY wanted to know and she said she absolutely did. I told her straight up that if she truly wanted to find a good man that wanted to be with HER then she has to stop looking in all the same places and start looking in her friendzone because that is the ONLY place she will find a guy who likes her for her and that she will like back. A few hours later when I was packing up to leave she told me that she had been thinking about it and that I was totally right and there is this one guy she has been friends with for a couple of years that she could see herself with. Yesterday when I went back to finish up the painting she told me that she called him and asked him out and they have an official date set for this weekend. She said she NEVER would have even thought that a guy she was "friends" with could be someone she would spend her life with but she can see how she was wrong for so long. We might actually have converted one here guys.
UPDATE: She called me last night and told he proposed to her on Dec 23. She is incredibly happy and said this is the best present she could have ever hoped for. They are a really good couple and compliment each other very well. I got an ex that still messages me out the blue that she misses me, but when i dont respond, she'll talk shit about me and then end it with "hope your in a better place tho". I almost blocked her but that would show weakness imho and thats what she wants. So i just keep ignoring her, living my life like she dont exist.

I am a 48 year old man who has his life in order. I break up with someone within a month or even 2 weeks someone else wants me. Blocking is something for 14 year olds like I said. I met a new woman toward Christmas and we are now a could and we spent New year together and my ex saw the pictures I posted of us and she even sent a message to ask if it is my new woman and ....You just live your life and they see you are actually someone she lost

@Phil McCrackin It's actually the exact same concept. Being able to be in contact with or in the presence of something, without being tempted by it, or it even eliciting a reaction/response from you, is the ultimate show of strength.
A former addict knows he's fully recovered when he can be in the presence of alcohol without feeling even the slightest compulsion to drink or taste.
Hence why I never block exes/former flings. I just let them rage and howl into the void, and chuckle indifferently. That hurts them even more, when they know you simply don't care to block or avoid them. The opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference. Just my 2 cents

My heart hurts for the future for my son(s) if a woman cooking for her man and leaving him a love note is a lost art being celebrated. I do this for my husband and son ( another son on the way god is good) everyday. Breakfast lunch snacks you name it. Shoot I have two male dogs that get homemade meals and I hold down a career of my own. I proudly say to anyone it’s my pleasure to take care of all my boys I love them and want them to feel that. I don’t understand how that has become a bad thing.
