That depends on if he's still in school and 18. If he's out of school, it's his choice; if he's still in school, she's still responsible for him.
@@motherofthreeb6337 that's not true at all. Once a person turns 18 they are adults and their parents no longer have any say on their medical decisions. Now I believe there are some states in which parents have to allow their children to continue to live in the home and provide for them until they graduate high school if they will do so before their 20th birthday. And that's not every state. Here in Florida parents have no rights or responsibilities after their child turns 18 (assuming the child does not have any disabilities that would prolong their dependency)

Me too. I don't think most anti-vaxxers mean to do harm; they're just well-intentioned but misinformed. I'm autistic and my childhood dentist once offered us some anti-vaccine literature. We were fairly certain by then that vaccines didn't cause autism and politely declined. The thing is, my dentist never meant any harm to anyone (at least as far as I know). He never showed anything but kindness, affection, and concern for me, my family, and everyone else around him. I know that he would not have offered us that information if he didn't genuinely care. Now I can't generalize the thoughts or motivations of all anti-vaxxers based on him, but I would imagine that many, if not most, of them are the same way.

I find it odd that the mom was “so proud of him for standing up for what he believes in.” If she was so impressed with his mature behavior, why didn’t she just consent to him getting the shots earlier? He seems to be a bright and thoughtful kid in general so her making him wait until his 18 only to be pleased that he “defied” her just doesn’t make sense to me.

That's a very common type of fallacy, actually. Confusion of things that do happen or things that can happen vs. probabilities.
In actuality, most things are probability based, but people either focus on what "can happen", with no regard to probability, or they do one worse and assume what can happen will happen. Maybe, maybe not. That's why probabilities exist.
The truth is, you don't want thimerosal or aluminum compounds in you. But, to assume all vaccines have them is stupid. Iirc, the flu shot usually has it, because it's cheaper.
Also, I'm not sure if they've nailed down a flu shot that can deal with anything like the Spanish Flu of 1918. That thing killed using the immune system against oneself. The last thing you want is to train the immune system to be even more violent in response to a virus it can't see.

1. I know you're not crazy anti-vax but I would like to point out that babies get more Aluminium from breastfeeding then they do from vaccines and the mercury used in vaccines, Thimerisol, is different from natural Mercury which messes with your brain, it is also in too low quantities to harm alongside it being removed from some vaccines for no other reason than anti-vax soccer moms complaining about it.
2. They do actually have a vaccine for "Swine Flu" or H1N1 the disease that caused the 1918 Spanish Flu.

Science IS a question(what when where why who how) BUT when all is said and done and the proof has been found and tested and it holds up to scrutiny, then it’s a fact and to rebut it is trivial and idiotic.

Helicopters and light planes are essentially flying cars. The reason why we don’t have flying cars like those on the roads is because they would be completely impractical.
