    This is rapidly becoming my favorite UA-cam channel! It's just like my playlist. I'm learning all the songs of my youth and having a ton of fun. Just wish it had been here 30 years ago.

      I heard they wrote the music to this first...they added the lyrics when they were messing around outside by a fire. I can picture that...

    I am super impressed. I always thought he bent, instead of pulled off that main riff, or maybe a string bender. The part you say is a Strat, I always thought was overdubbed slide, but I'm not arguing, just my opinion. You have a great ear, btw.

    Bands don't put albums out like Zepplin used to do.
    Houses.... was their fifth album released in 73!
    We're lucky to one album in five years from the majority of Bands today.

      Nowadays musicians are in about 20 different bands. It takes forever to put out an album.

    It's like Jimmy took the tuning, and purposely avoided sounding like Keith. I dig your attention to detail, and multiple options - approximations are cool. Jimmy seems to choose the best take, even if has a clam in it.Tone on coil split sounds right there. Keeep awn!!

    Killer sound

  • @tonytigertwenty
    @tonytigertwenty 3 місяці тому

    If you give it a close listen you can hear a different wiggle or pull off that you just can't match from the recording just right. I "think" Jimmie may be using a bow on a over dub because it gives the tone a bit of a screechy sound when pulled across the strings. Possibly with the slide at times. Idk. It epic either way.👍😎

    Youre the first guy Ive seen bend the C# to D instead of hammering.

    I wasn't playing the notes on the E string in those chords but they sound correct . I really only liked this song when I heard it on How The West Was Won where he is forced into less is more . I tend to be annoyed by his layering in studio after V 4 . Also love the STP version a lot .

    Amazing tutorial. This is how guitar tutorials should be done. Can I ask how high the action is over the 12th fret, for slide guitar smoothness?

    • @12footchain

      Not exactly sure, but overall action is not super low.

    This is great. Could you do one on Ten Years Gone, please? I guess it would be quite a long one as there are probably 5 or 6 guitar parts (at least) but I think it’s their best song, and therefore my favourite by anyone, ever.

    Went back and listen again. It sounds like he bends the first C# then hammers the second quicker lick.

      agree! but getting reliable info on which songs proves tough for me. (other than the obvious LZ1 and I think the stairway to heaven solo) but I would love to find reliable info on where else
