I keep hearing houseplant unless you live in the right environment, so I was wondering, I love in south Louisiana where it is bad will be hot/warm for quite a few more months, can I propagate/allow them to grow outside in indirect sunlight? Like on my patio where direct sun does not touch. Since they are tropical, if I did this indoors, the temp will stay below 70 at all times, so which would be best in my area? And if outdoors while warm then should I move it inside when temps get down to the 50’s f ?
I think if you were quartering the pineapple top, you could probably remove half the green leaves too as they'd die off anyway. It's sort of a wet stick then I suppose. Great video, but as a houseplant they're quite large and dangerous, so watch your eyes !
That's a interesting point, I suppose they are like wet sticks, just the bits of the base of the 'stem' - and definitely should have put a warning on the video, I've had a few near misses or random spikes when one of the leaves has got me! 🙈
Thank you for checking in. It was an unintentionally longer break than expected due to coursework, but I'm busy working on the next video. I actually thought I had posted the community update previously but clearly forgot! So a little update on there but a new video will be out soon 😊🤗
Thank you. Your video was perfect! 👍
Thank you for the kind words, glad you liked the video 💚

Yes, I tried it years ago. Pineapple grows very large and wide, to big in the end:)
They are surprisingly big! They don't seem that big when you see them online or on TV. Nice plants though... prickly! 🍍
I would plant in the soil. The one I have in water has roots but I think won’t survive.
the water roots will be replaced by soil roots after you plant it

It’s been 12 days since this video was posted with no new one. Hope that you’re okay and will be posting again soon.
