  • Ford MAF Sensor Testing, 12V Power
    You do not need a Scan Tool to test the Mass Air Flow Sensor on your Ford. Here, we'll walk you through the whole process of testing and troubleshooting the FORD Mass Air FLow sensor, using only a Multimeter.
    Although the mass air flow sensor on your Ford is inside the round Air Filter canister assembly and hidden from view, it can be diagnosed in four easy steps.
    The Mass Air Flow Sensor on your FORD may have 6 or 4 wires coming out of the Plastic Round Air Filter Box. If the ford mass air flow sensor has 6 wires, this indicates that the Air Temperature Sensor is integrated within the mass air flow sensor itself. If it's a 4 wire sensor, then the Air Temp Sensor is located externally, usually on the Air Duct connecting the Round Air Filter Assembly to the Throttle Body. Get the scoop on testing your FORD MAF sensor.
    Presented using advanced software CG animation technology to help you understand. Part of our Automotive Technology series shown here on this channel. Enjoy...

    Thank you so much. You're not the only one dealing with technology and it has nothing to do with age or the country you live in. We hope you stay in touch and keep posting. Our channel "ADPTraining" is here to serve you. THanks again.

    I think you will find that what this video meant to convey is; If you don't have 12 volts, your MAF is probably ok and before you move on you need to find out where the 12 volts are at.
    Of course the MAF could be bad and depending on circumstances fron the time that the MAF went bad you could have also have lost the 12 volt feed to the MAF.
    As for the way you expressed your oppinion, i.e (Lack of Basic Common Logic) i think that is uncalled for
    This channel provides very useful information, FOC

    You then have an electrical issue. The MAF will not burn a fuse. Check your vehicle electrical wiring first... Start from the fuse.

    I disagree with piercing the wire, since doing so can damage the wire or if not properly sealed afterwards the wire will most likely corrode. Instead use a sowing T-pin and back probe the terminal, attaching leads (via alligator clip) to the T-pin and ground. Safer and less destructive than using a piercing probe.

      Use chassis ground, almost the same but about 100 mVolts difference.

    You are not doing any sensor testing. You are simply testing 12V at the input of the circuit. What should the sensor voltage be??? You do not state this.

    • @ADPTraining
      @ADPTraining  10 років тому

      Voltage output is different per manufacturer. So, use the PIDs calculated values to help you decipher the values. It's all here.
