I know that money can be a factor sometimes when it comes to school, and I'm not here to judge anyone- I, too, was put through public schooling. But I feel like this young lady wouldn't have suffered so much with her mental health if she had been homeschooled or went to a creative arts school that allowed for that type of expression.
The problem was her parents didn't move her to a different school, like I did my kids. I was a single parent of two, but I always put them first and gave them a new beginning and friends! Sometimes parents have to find better ways to give their children good lives! If you know your child is being bullied get them out of there! Don't dismiss the problems and stay there. Everyone should know by now that kids live in a separate world when they are not home with family. You can't talk their problems away. Thanks to the moves we've made as a family my kids finally found a school that gave them what they needed.
@@topazzskyI changed schools twice, first school was a private school and second was public. Both were equally bad. Honestly I’m grateful I went through it because it built my character.
Maybe because she has red hair. I'm 68 and maybe things are different now cause red hair is much more common with people choosing all sorts of colors, but for kids, anything that makes them different will often be an excuse for others to bully them. I still have quite red hair, not nearly as bright as it used to be and I love it as an adult, but as a kid I was picked on all the time. Look at South Park's kick a ginger day lol. It's not easy even to be a little different as a kid.

People can be cruel, she ' actually nobody ' deserves to be treated like she was. I bet, if they would have known back than, when they mocked her, they would not have been so malicious to her. Envy does make people act strange. No, they would be nice to her because than they could have had the chance to thrive on her succes and beauty. That she is certainly beautiful and very talented. Kayla is the real deal...a genuine human person, who sings with true feeling and passion, from personal emotional life experience. She could hang with some of the best singers on AGT, CGT or The Voice. WAY TO GO AND BE KAYLA!
What I love most about this channel and Reggie is that he always asks people how they feel after singing. No matter how they sounded, or if they come up and talk about how they are in the music business or have another album coming out, or if they are the exact opposite and are doing it to feel more confident in public or whatever, he just welcomes them all. He gives everybody encouragement and respect, and he always tells everybody appreciates the chance to play with them. He doesn't tell some singers they were fantastic, or they should be singing in clubs, or say that was pretty good, or OK or not say anything if it's not that great. That is why people are willing to do it, because he doesn't compare people and make it into a contest. That would defeat the purpose. He doesn't pass judgment. I also have to say when this lady asked him if he sings too or just plays the guitar, there is no "just playing the guitar" about this guy. He can play anything. Even if he doesn't know their song, once he hears 5-10 seconds of it, he can nail it. That is brilliant and fir sone reason nobody ever seems to compliment him. Without him though, we would not hear them. Sometimes he is too humble for his own good.
I lived in Montreal for almost 2 years back when I was 17. Went to high school there and nobody wanted to be friends with an Irish lass. Shocking I know😂. I would’ve sat next to her 😢 I just don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t like this sweet girl. Her hair and face are beautiful. Envious people. Her voice gave me goosebumps!
Montreal is such a beautiful city but I have a feeling that the regressive behavior in schools is endemic. That school administrator telling the one friend she had to not be friends with her anymore (because she said she felt depressed) - sounds like the 1950s!
Wow!!! I've was bullied too and sought solace in music. I've sung since I can remember in remote Zululand forestry and game reserves where I learnt to sing harmonies and play guitar. Bullying drove me to playing guitar at every moment I could find, practice martial arts to a high degree and write poetry. 2 bullies went home with broken noses in my final school year when I couldn't walk away or talk away. It stopped after that. Music was always there and I finally played at the age of 37 in a bluegrass band which is still going. I now perform in tribute shows, solo performances and band performances along with my professional career. I have 6 shows in the next 2 weeks fully sold out thanks to music and it's power!!! Beautiful, beautiful lady and incredible performance!!! Much love❤❤❤❤

Kayla, you are so incredibly talented and such a wonderful and beautiful human being. Also want to tell you I was bullied all through school so I know what it’s all about. Bullies made me introverted and shy, and it caused me to not want to go to school, and basically made me dislike people and I hated even being alive. I’m 65 years old now and being a guitar player and singer since childhood gave me the outlet to show people what I excelled in and allowed me to come out of my shell. Blessings to you Kayla and you too, Reggie for enduring being bullied and becoming such wonderful role models.

Anyway, what a lovely person and family. You made it through. All the best from now on. Thanks again Reggie. Lovely stuff.
What a simply beautiful woman with a fabulous voice. My gosh, why on earth would anyone be so vicious to her. Thank goodness she had such supportive, loving parents...and she never gave up. She is also the type of girl that I've always been attracted to but, alas, the timing is not there as I am considerably older and so I'm feeling a little melancholy that I missed her in time. I hope she takes what I just said as a compliment because that's what I meant it to be. I have huge respect for her incredible talent and wish her every success in life. 😘
Put her on a stage! she's a super star!! ;-)
Woooow! What a heartbreaking voice! absolutely unique and beautiful 🙏🥰

I was literally in a trance listening to Kayla sing....what a voice
OMG!!!! I could not understand why this beautiful young lady was bullied. Maybe everyone was jealous of her in school. But her rendition of, Back to Black was mesmerizing. I actually had goosebumps. She is freaking fabulous.❤❤❤❤ her!!!
I just watched Kayla's second song first. She is such a talent. I'm glad she, and you, found music. Music saved many of us.

She is beautiful and has a very beautiful voice. Why aren’t these bullies held accountable? What’s wrong with the teachers and administrators? Times have really changed. You go girl, you have everything going for you.
She’s beautiful and has talent! I hope she pursues her dreams.😊
So happy for you, Kayla!!!! Love the way you sing!
That young lady sings so good! Shame on the bullies! I'm glad she found something to help her cope, and to go on singing so that everyone can hear her beautiful gift of her voice. ❤
I was a teacher. There's no way any child would be treated like that in any schools I've worked at. Apart from professionalism, don't they care? Then what are they doing anywhere near children?
Anyway, what a lovely person and family. You made it through. All the best from now on.
Thanks again Reggie. Lovely stuff.
Beautiful gal, lovely voice, and great rendition of Back to Black! ❤️❤️❤️!!!
Such a powerful voice and the guitar was perfect addition for this masterpiece of vocals and guitar 😎🥰🌹🙏🏻💯🎵🎼🎶
Nice voice kayla ----- you are so lucky having supportive parents .......❤❤❤
What a simply beautiful woman with a fabulous voice. My gosh, why on earth would anyone be so vicious to her. Thank goodness she had such supportive, loving parents...and she never gave up. How many talented people were told they wouldn't be....and they became famous. I see a very bright future ahead of her.💖
No wonder those classmates and teachers were so jealous! Not only amazing parents, but, amazing gift of voice - and HAIR! Oh mi gosh!
