- Today I will be playing around with vintage Fujinon broadcast B4 lens (JVC Zoom control A16X9.5BRM-9B) on Blackmagic URSA 4K.
I opened the lens up to remove the fungus and after successful cleaning I will be taking it out to test it.
Equipment used:
▷ A Camera: Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K
▷ B Camera: Blackmagic URSA 4K
▷ Microphone: R0de VideoMicro , Audiotechnica table top microphone
▷ Lens: Meike MK 16mm , Fujinon A16X9.5BRM-9B
▷ Tripod: Sirui SH15

My school uses this camera for its digital cinema camera and truly is a beast... but also a great teaching camera because of all the screens students can gather around and see what is going on.
I admire your creativity in adapting your zoom lens to this camera and actually like it for a certain less-sharp retro quality that would be great for specific projects. I could see using it on different material for its look.
Hey William! Thank you for your comment! I agree it is a beast and a great teaching camera! I am now looking for adapter with glass element to compensate for the CMOS sensor. The lens is actually built for CCD three sensors that converge in the middle prism.
Thank you, you just saved me a lot of time and money on trying the same experiment.
Thank you, I did quite some tests with another B4 lens with extender and had much better results.
It has its beauty!
It has that nice hazy look to it, so next time I'm gonna do some project Ill try to use it as much as possible to discover its potential! :D
@@rubydiy7860 takes time!
It resolves quite well, but stopping down and using a deeper hood will help
While testing I was at around 5.6 and using original hood and on a second part the smallring matte box. I will still keep experimenting with it and get a adapter with glass element to see if it will help to cover the sensor area jus a bit more.
jejeje i buy old things too... but i stop a little, reallity is that the quality of the image suffers a lot in most cases. And the equipment end up in the closet.
Lets be honest here, this is extreamly old lens for SD resolution for a different type of sensor with a prism, this was more ment as fun video to see how would it look to connect that together. Even with the poor quality I used it for some vintage look shoots, after a little color grade came out quite nice :D
I bought me a BMCC URSA just like that, it won't recognize my card
What card are you using? Did you format the card? It needs to be Cfast 2.0 and you can check the cards approved to work by Blackmagic
lens not good or too wide open , should look cleaner if used with better lens.
this is a really old lens for SD, also for a different type of sensor with prism, this was just a fun test to see how would it look
