@@ScottishTeeVee Nah, never heard anything about this. A guessing would be that Blackmore had being an ahole or something. Gillan is easy going, lord, Pace, Glover ..very polite. Blackmore is well known for his behavior. Or maybe Bonham been superdrunk and thrown somebody out of a window or the pool? 😆
I think Robert always resented that Zeppelin would get lumped in with other "proto heavy metal" bands like Sabbath and Purple. He thought they were something different, a cut above. And in the case of Sabbath, there was a bit of competition in being the kings from the English midlands, the "black country." Also at this point (1985) he's trying his hand at "futuristic" electronic sounds on Shaken'N'Stirred, and probably saw the Purple guys as resting on their laurels. So yeah, a bit of arrogance on his part. But perhaps well-founded.
@@ScottishTeeVeeLove from India!Plant will come to hate DP more when Pagey will humiliate him by working with DP's singer Coverdale.Zepelin are very popular in UK and US,however Purple are the biggest band in Europe,Asia and Russia. They played blues based music, who invented what is very unclear and they were the worlds largest band, making them targets for lawsuits from people that wanna get easy money.
@@TheRoomfull well, I'd disagree with that ... Pagey nicked some musical content for sure. But I'd never call them "plagiarists" (although they are my favorite band.) Calling them that is a really basic and simplistic criticism that became fashionable in the last couple decades i guess.

Fascinating 3-minute interview, packs a lot in! Plant is always so intelligent and self-aware. Love his comments about Zep audiences at the end.
Thanks ScottishTeeVee!

Zepplin had so many plagiarism cases, so they're a little overrated in my book. But Plant is charming here otherwise

6 documented cases that were mostly because of lyrical content. They released 108 studio songs in their careers btw.
