PRE-1995 | PCV System | California Smog Check Visual Inspection

The purpose of the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system is to remove the harmful gases from the crankcase.
In California it is also part of the smog check visual inspection. To avoid hefty fines from the state of California, Smog Check technicians and stations will visually inspect the PCV system.
