Fantastic vid Tim and great allround channel! I've always had trouble getting my resin to set properly - it just stays sticky even after I've given it a good shine with the UV torch which has new batteries. I'm thinking the torch might not be very strong - can you recommend what UV torch and resin you use as the finish you're getting is absolutely awesome!...... all best, Al
Lots of resins remain tacky after curing . You can either finish with a coat of Sally hansons or leave the flies in direct sunlight for half an hour to harden them off . I use cheap UV resins and torches from Amazon , there's no need for the expensive brand stuff just have a look at the hobby stuff .
Thanks . Its just personal preference . Sometimes resins can bulk a fly up . Thin layers of varnish keep that segmented look to the fly . I'm sure it doesn't matter to the fish ! .. Also when doing batches say 20 or 30 at a time its less time consuming to use varnish . But what I do know is these can be deadly on there day ! Thanks for watching .
Another great vid Tim, keep them coming 👍👍👍
Thanks Neil .. got a few fishing ones in the pipeline . Thanks for watching
