I tried this build and besides the uptime for abilities with travelers chosen I found playing off strand quicksilver storm seemed like the best option for thread of generation, strand damage, and slightly better damage with the loaded grenades in the gun
I believe that they are using mindspun invocation solely for the extra fragment slot not to consume threadling grenades. They are probably still throwing the grenades for firepower and subsequently orbs for woven mail. A suggestion when doing the will it build videos to ask for a brief summary of playstyle
Personally, I'd swap out Mindspun Invocation for The Wanderer, allowing Threadlings to create Tangles which can then detonate to Suspend nearby enemies, and since my Grenades now generate Orbs, change out my armor mods so picking up Orbs can heal me as well as refund energy. Now when I pick up an Orb, I get Woven Mail AND a health buff. I'd probably also trade out Traveler's Chosen for QSS, simply because the increased firepower will do more for survivability than increased uptime on abilities will. If you want to sacrifice boss DPS in favor of even MORE and more powerful threadlings, go with Swarmers over Apotheosis, making your Threadlings unravel targets *and* create threadlings when you destroy a Tangle, which now also suspends targets. At this point, almost everything you do will spawn Threadlings or Tangles, which can then in turn spawn Threadlings. You could even pick up that artifact perk that makes shooting an Unraveled target spawn threadlings. You're probably not going to top the charts in DPS or ad clear, especially this season when Solar is so outrageously powerful, but you'll be scarily consistent.
If I using the wanderer I'd use thread of mind instead but the ability return is sad now so I'm using weavewalk instead for the 5 perched threadings and survivability@@perrycarters3113
This build can be pretty useful with tractor cannon for a boss nuke, the chicken at minute 18 would been melted, now change travelers chosen for a strand primary that can roll demo, like Rufu's Fury that roll both Demo and adrenaline Junkie or demo/target lock, and you have a boss/champion melting build.
Another choice I would've made is run Wishkeeper and (if he could) Koraxis with Hatchling/Chain. Currently working on getting that roll myself cause, just, so many hatchlings.

I just discovered these videos of yours and I love'em. Thank you for actually explaining WHY you change things around. I've been trying out this build today and have one more tweak that seems to work better for me: switching Traveler's Chosen to the Quicksilver Storm. I like the increased range and one of the seasonal mods allows auto rifles to work on Overloaded enemies. Added bonus is that the micro-rockets spawn threadlings, as do the grenades from the alternate firing mode. With this change I've found I have even more consistency with having threadlings available between ability casts. I like ARs, so your mileage may vary, but I thought I'd share. Thanks!
Something I'd change is swapping the primary as a purple strand weapon with Hatchling and equip Dragons breath or something that applies a DOT effect. I'd pop super, apply the DOT, and then enter weave walk. The DOT would proc the threadlings to pop off as they are created with that increased regen from the exotic. Mods, I'd make the siphon mods on the head match each weapon type in order to produce orbs as needed.
I don't think apotheosis veil generates threadlings from weavewalk. just the grenade. you do generate enough for that to work tho. it would be a crazy cycle if you can keep the melee Regen up.
@KipVelcrono It was reworked to regen both Melee and Grenade energy after you cast your super. If you weavwalk while having that increased regen for yout melee(which weave walk consumes), it'll produce more threadlings while there is DOT active on a target. I've seen others use it before in builds here on YT and I've used a similar technique with other exotics.
@@Jager_Leitwolf24 but the helmet only increases the melee Regen. what I'm saying is the exotic doesn't effect the threadlings Regen in weavewalk. it'll make doing it longer, but it's the same amount of threadlings
This builds all about abilities and the threadlings. Traveler's chosen is by far the best weapon for this since you can generate ability energy instantly by consuming your stacks. If youre wanting a more meta loadout you run Apotheosis Veil on void
I use this build but with Swarmers and lean heavily into my recovery and discipline. Then it's similar to your comment of consume grenade, drop rift...and repeat. The other benefit of Swarmers is that the threadlings apply unravel to anything they damage. It doesn't help with burst damage but great for overall ad control.
I run something similar but instead of weavers call I use wanderer because this season has threadlings pop off of unraveled targets. With swarmers it makes a disgustingly beautiful gameplay loop
tweaked the build a bit to fit something more comfortable. Weavewalk for sure, helps get out of bad spots which happen alot in endgame activities, Quicksilver Storm for consistent damage and it synergizes really well with the artifact mods and Red Hering with tracking/lasting impression with argent ordenance. Really fun Strand build, thanks for making the vid.
This build's neutral game runs even better with verity's brow instead, tons of grenade regen and damage. For apotheosis though definitely grab a demolitionist rocket so you can spam out some big heavy while you're chucking nades
well each stack is +50% base grenade regen which honestly isn't *that* much, just a healthy uptime boost. I use it more for the damage and team support since the buff it gives other players is TEN-times nade regen speed

OMG, you need Unravelling Orbs and Horde Shuttle from the seasonal artifact. Unravelling Orb gives unravellinig rounds to your Strand weapon (Travellers Chosen) when you pick up an Orb and Horde Shuttle occasionally spawns a threadling when you have unravelling rounds. On my legs I used 2 strand damage mods and the damage from that sidearm is Crazy Mad McMad as soon as you pick up an orb. It spawns a threadling roughly every 4th kill before picking up the orb then when you run over an orb everything gets seriously damage crazy.
Here is a build idea that I have been running for a while. It feels like i'm a one-man army. Strand Hunter with Foetracer. Aspects: Whirling Maelstrom + Threaded Specter Fragments: Thread of Warding (for Woven Mail), Thread of Continuity (increased Sever and Unravel duration), Thread of Transmutation (Tangle generation while having Woven Mail), Thread of Generation (for grenade energy when taking damage). Abilities: Gamblers Dodge, Triple Jump, Threaded Spike, Grapple Grenade. Stats: I prioritize max resilience and discipline. Weapons: Your strand weapon of choice, I prefer The Navigator as it performs very well. Quicksilver, or anything else will work. Secondary weapon of your choice, I prefer anything with Incandescent for add clear. Heavy weapon is the strand rocket, Semiotician (We'll touch on this later). Armor + Mods: Head - Foetracer; special ammo finder, harmonic siphon x2 (you can run 1 if you want to run something else with it. Arms - impact induction x2, harmonic loader (this can be changed to whatever you want) Chest - harmonic reserves x1, resist mods to match whatever you're running) Legs - harmonic scavenger, strand surge x2 Cloak: Bober x2, Time Dilation I made this build to constantly have tangles up and running on the field for DOT with Whirling Maelstrom. Threaded Specter is used to take aggro from nearby enemies for a bit helping with survivability. Double strand surge for both of your strand weapons. I personally like to use The Navigator to give teammates woven mail when possible. Now for the heavy weapon, I chose Semiotician with enhanced field prep and bipod to be able to dump as many rockets as I can, as fast as I can. Extra damage boost from the double strand surge + Foetracer to help counteract the damage reduction from bipod. The survivability is great as well as maneuverability with your grapple grenade. I feel like this build really showcases how a strand hunter can perform. I've used this build for over 50 Crota's End clears and almost never die. The add clear is insane with the whirling tangles and your strand primary weapon, I almost never touch my secondary weapon. As I said, I use Navigator and almost never run out of ammo. Threaded Specter helps sever enemies and keep your damage boost up from Foetracer. Hope you see this and decide to try it out!
I love this about Destiny. So many different paths and avenues to explore. And by doing so, you can find some pretty interesting and powerful stuff. Meta? What even is that.
One thing I think Bungie really should do is be more specific in the game about what does what and for how long. It’s kind of BS that that information isn’t just right here for you.
Yeah. “Slightly increases damage for a moderate duration” literally means nothing to me. How long is the duration? Is the buff additive or multiplicative? Where is the buff applied to the damage application? These are all important questions.
@@neosharkey7401 and the buffs and d-buffs should be on separate sides of the screen and bigger text and start at the bottom and work up instead of shuffling downward. I lose track of important info during raids especially and dungeons too. How am I supposed to read that shit when it’s moving, flashing and all this stuff is flashing my screen. Just sayin.
Loving this series and how you tweak things out rather than bash on people's builds. I do hope that bungie will tune the builds/mod system in a way to make off-meta builds viable. Would be sick to have those options.
I like this build a lot as I've been running what I'd consider ot be a base variant of it with Eye of Another World rather than Apotheosis and circular logic as my heavy as it has nonotech rockets and hatchlings. It's fun pew pew pew
Honestly the changes u made were brilliant and made it more newbie friendly. Woven mail honestly doesnt last long enough for the average player and then a lot of players are not actively collecting orbs of power in the heat of the moment so I personally felt like it was a good call to ditch it and replace it with weave walk and with traveller’s chosen, u can pretty much guarantee ur able to use weave walk
Void wasn’t anything special when I tried it because pocket sand is just so bad. You’re probably better off using something like Nezarec’s Sin anyway. One thing I will suggest is using a Demolitionist Rocket Launcher if you end up sticking with Void since you can spam grenades. Solar on the other hand is absolutely popping off this season because of all the artifact mods we have going into it, but it’s also particularly good because of Dragon’s Breath since there’s no real internal cooldown for its reload which is just based on causing ignitions (which Incinerator Snap can do on its own). Dragon’s Breath, Fusion, Snap, Well -> (Dragon’s Breath, Fusion, Snap) repeat until Insatiable ends. I was dealing close to 1.8 mil with this setup against Rathil within 10 seconds (one totem cleanse).
If anyone sees this Ok i wanted till the end for this ..monte carlo givess you near perma weavwalk and is waaay more forgiving than travelers chosen. And when using monte you can comfortably build into your nade , rift, or super ...travlers has the issue of ramp up time sooo you extra feel the down time.
People are sleeping on apotheosis with Stasis. The shatter damage is amazing between spaming glacier nades at bosses feet and penumbral blast. Running fissures, shards, rending, and bonds, with ice flare bolts and glacial harvest is amazing for ability up time during insatiable being active. I have it paired with the defiance strand auto rolled with enhanced demo and envious assassin, tesselation or buried bloodline, (which I would personally opt for the heals and enhanced grenade energy from devour) and cold comfort with envious and bait and switch. For armor I prioritize discipline (100), resilience(100), and intellect.(40) Helm: ashes to assets, font of wisdom (bumps int to 70, +30 to stats per font mod, after 70 is diminishing returns) and strand siphon. Gloves: fire power, impact induction and momentum transfer Chest:(optional charged up) standard resist and reserve mods Boots: elemental charge, x2 strand surge. Bond: time dilation, bomber, and reaper. Artifact: unraveling orbs, both stasis themed mods, and horde shuttle. You have a near constant up time in weapon damage, grenade energy, and your spawning orbs, crystals and threadlings like crazy.
I'm predicting a rise in Apotheosis Veil when Song of Flames gets dropped. You'll basically have D1 Firewalker and Song of Flames at the same time *with even further increased Ability Regen* from Apotheosis Veil. It's going to be nuts.
Okay so unrelated but if you read these comments, try this for me: Get a few stacks of Gathering Light with Traveler’s Chosen. Spawn a snowball. Then real fast, consume the stacks of gathering light and pick up the snowball at the same time. Makes a funny little character model interaction. Enjoy.
If you're looking for more ways to get your class ability back faster, The Title from Guardian Games is a void SMG you could slot in the secondary and also Energy Transfer perk on a sword will give class ability energy for taking damage while blocking.
i think firepower works the moment you activate your super, the moment your super charge is gone, and you get a lot of grenades to throw, you will get your super back faster if those threadlings kill a lot of enemies. Which will drop orbs, which gives super charge back. And if the guy who made the build, tried to make it so that he activates his super always the moment he can, or atleast a lot, its understandable. But i would pick something else indeed.
I did not know that A-Veil was made regenerative. Thats interesting. I thought it was just like a one time top up, which was unappealing. But if you can reliably just fill up your super gauge like crazy, then A-Veil becomes much more viable. Imagine for instance having a Demolitionist RL with any damaging grenade after any one-and-done super. Nova bomb with void child. Well of Radiance. Chaos Reach with arc buddy and jolting grenades. Lots of dps potential here
I'd suggest a strand heavy with demo and maybe ashes to assets to get your super more often, further enabling grenade spam. I'm going to try out your modified build along with my suggestions and see how that works out. I'm determined to get 20+ threadlings all crawling around wrecking shop.
In the coil I always go the long way around in the spike areas at every opportunity takes a little more time but it causes me to put far fewer holes in my desk 😂
Dont worry Mac.... Those spikes have a hair trigger and reach outside their depicted area. The ledges though.... Tsk tsk..... Lmao i cant warlock either
I really like my threadling build and have a really solid apotheosis solar build, I like the anti boss damage loop from that exotic, but merging both is one Fun looking build. Thanks for sharing!
Traveler’s Chosen doesn’t restore ability energy to Darkness subclasses. The perk Garhering Light only restores light ability energy. (This is by design and not a bug because it’s a Traveler themed light-based exotic.) When using TC on a darkness subclass you should hold all ten stacks for the stat bonuses because consuming them does nothing. Osmosis is still good for the subclass synergy
In non-loadout locked content, you're generally much better off running a normal build and then quick swapping to apotheosis veil. Really enjoying the new Veil changes tho
Can you point me in the video to where you one shot bosses? I’ve watched it twice… or..is that for hits? Either way the build looks great. Gonna try it for sure.
Honestly I thought that strand warlock was a treadling master. But now I made a build that makes a hunter god of treadlings, with 4 resources to make threadling and unravel everything with final warning. Even without killing enemies treadlings keep spawning by just shooting them thanks to my build
@@MacticsG1 - I just love that I’m not the only person who has to apologize to the rest of my little group for hitting every single one of them like I’m some kind of Spike inspector
This build is okay but you could run something like witherhorde in slot one, w.e in slot 2 and then a heavy with Demolitionist in slot 3. You can run Thread of Ascent on this build and then your heavy doesnt even need Demo on it - I've used this build to dump super, 2 or 3 grenades, and then 10 shots of Gally into a target within 20s Witherhorder > Heavy > Super > Grenade (proc Heavy reload) > Heavy > manual Heavy Reload > Heavy > Grenade (proc Heavy reload) > Heavy > manual Heavy Reload > witherhorde > SPam heavy
The thing I feel like you were missing is you weren't using your super during ad clear. The reason the guy recommended Firepower is because I'd you use the super then apotheosis veil will give you unlimited grenades for 8 seconds then when you use those grenades you'll be getting extra orbs of power which will speed up your super recharge.
Heh I see someone let on about our secret build we call “Threadlord” We use verity’s brow instead but then we have two warlocks running it for extra grenades
i'd move the mic boom to the other side to get it out of the picture, and get some paint and production value into the recording room which can be done pretty cheap, sherwin williams peppercorn is a good dark grey then can focus on lighting and some acoustic panels (do rockwool not just the foam which doesn't work well for wideband). channel has a lot of content potential always glad to see someone build something successful.
i prefer rufus fury as my strand primary slot weapon since it can roll with pugilist in the left column for almost 100% uptime on your melee ability for more weave walk and hatchling in the right column for more threading's and this stacks with thread of rebirth.
I feel like that build would be better with the navigator this season because the navigator can give you woven mail and because of a perk in the season artifact when you pick up an orb you can get unraveling rounds
I think if you added a strand heavy grenade launcher with Demo and Hatchling it would make the build better in my opinion. There's a craftable one from RoN
Don't worry, The Spikes kill everyone. I had one run where, I swear, my Blueberries had to be wasting our Revives on purpose because we went from 16 to 2 by the end of that room.
Sorry for the issue around 3:37, editing hiccup :p

Head - Foetracer; special ammo finder, harmonic siphon x2 (you can run 1 if you want to run something else with it.
Arms - impact induction x2, harmonic loader (this can be changed to whatever you want)
Chest - harmonic reserves x1, resist mods to match whatever you're running)
Legs - harmonic scavenger, strand surge x2
Cloak: Bober x2, Time Dilation
I made this build to constantly have tangles up and running on the field for DOT with Whirling Maelstrom.
"No way to protect myself" the woven mail in question:
I love this about Destiny. So many different paths and avenues to explore. And by doing so, you can find some pretty interesting and powerful stuff. Meta? What even is that.
One thing I think Bungie really should do is be more specific in the game about what does what and for how long. It’s kind of BS that that information isn’t just right here for you.
To be fair it's not the only game that does this, in Warframe there's even incorrect information in game
@@happyspacefun3796 I don’t play….”other games” 😆
Just sayin.
"This might be the solution to all of my problems" ⚰️. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Gone are the times of an actual "oneshot"
Honestly the changes u made were brilliant and made it more newbie friendly. Woven mail honestly doesnt last long enough for the average player and then a lot of players are not actively collecting orbs of power in the heat of the moment so I personally felt like it was a good call to ditch it and replace it with weave walk and with traveller’s chosen, u can pretty much guarantee ur able to use weave walk
I didn't understand the Power this exotic has! Lol Now I'm thinking of Void and Solar options to this......
For the boss you can run a demolitionist rocket laucher and thorw 1 nade shoot 1 nade....
16:01 just friggin got me, terrible time to take a drink. gud video dood
Best episode yet mactics! Especially around 15:40.
Isn’t the point to cast super, spam grenades, making orbs, immediately getting your super back?
Also, the ADS reticle changes depending on how many stacks of gathering light you have. Pretty neat
Weavewalk spikes had me dying! Glad you tried it before me.
watching this series is becoming the best part of the daily routine
I love videos that make me turn on my xbox. I made a few tweaks for personal flavor, but the core is very fun to play with.
As a returning player I appreciate this thanks 🙏
If anyone sees this
Ok i wanted till the end for this ..monte carlo givess you near perma weavwalk and is waaay more forgiving than travelers chosen.
For armor I prioritize discipline (100), resilience(100), and intellect.(40)
Helm: ashes to assets, font of wisdom (bumps int to 70, +30 to stats per font mod, after 70 is diminishing returns) and strand siphon.
Gloves: fire power, impact induction and momentum transfer
Chest:(optional charged up) standard resist and reserve mods
Boots: elemental charge, x2 strand surge.
Okay so unrelated but if you read these comments, try this for me:
Get a few stacks of Gathering Light with Traveler’s Chosen.
Spawn a snowball.
Then real fast, consume the stacks of gathering light and pick up the snowball at the same time.
Makes a funny little character model interaction. Enjoy.
Been running this for months and its my go-to Strand Build for my Warlock. Love it
If you're looking for more ways to get your class ability back faster, The Title from Guardian Games is a void SMG you could slot in the secondary and also Energy Transfer perk on a sword will give class ability energy for taking damage while blocking.
It could also come with Pugilist, so you get both Class and Melee at the same time. Which helps getting that 5 back faster.
i think firepower works the moment you activate your super, the moment your super charge is gone, and you get a lot of grenades to throw, you will get your super back faster if those threadlings kill a lot of enemies. Which will drop orbs, which gives super charge back. And if the guy who made the build, tried to make it so that he activates his super always the moment he can, or atleast a lot, its understandable. But i would pick something else indeed.
I'm surprised you don't use D2 Armor picker to min max your stats for your builds. It can also port to DIM to finish building
Real build crafters don’t need d2 armour picker
@@harrisonolcorn2222 lol sure
@@harrisonolcorn2222 that's why your math isn't mathing??
I’m gonna try this build but with the new world drop rocket I have with envious and demo. Definitely seems fun and useful
You don't really want to swap weapons though(at least till you are near a grenade charge), due to how osmosis works.
Keep in mind also you spawn threadlings with your super if you done hit anything I believe if I’m not mistaken
Correct, Perched Threadlings will be released on Super Cast.
@@angelousmortis8041that's what i thought but after playing a swarmers build perched threadlings stay on you after casting your super.
In the coil I always go the long way around in the spike areas at every opportunity takes a little more time but it causes me to put far fewer holes in my desk 😂
15:43 bro sounds like he's having a blast 😂
Learn approximately the last grenade in the buff so u can consume and get more threadlings.
Thanks man, I add this build and work perfectly with my 300
I highly believe the swarmers exotic is much stronger with this exact build
Not really, since you lose the effect of apotheosis veil of spamming grenades.
prob better neutral game play for sure but less boss burst dps.
Just a thought for this build, maybe put like ashes to assets on the helm to increase super uptime even more
You could also switch out travellers chosen for Bad Juju for more super energy while losing out of the primary strand weapon
Dont worry Mac.... Those spikes have a hair trigger and reach outside their depicted area. The ledges though.... Tsk tsk..... Lmao i cant warlock either
17:17 thank you for making me laugh 😂
I really like my threadling build and have a really solid apotheosis solar build, I like the anti boss damage loop from that exotic, but merging both is one Fun looking build.
Thanks for sharing!
*hand raise* Would you mind adding the DIM link to these builds in the video like you do with your discord, content, etc?
I would use Quicksilver Storm over the sidearm any day. Plus it’s already strand (with the catalyst) so no need to use grenade to proc
You get a thredling, and you get a threadling, everybody gets a threadling!
Really liked the changes to the build. I choose to use Quicksilver Storm.
Amazing idea for a series.
4:04 hold on..let him cook....🤣🤣🤣
This build is very nice . I have test it with a void special grenadelauncher with wellspring for the abilizy cooldowns and it works fantastic
Ya know... Explosive Personalities would be good for the build now that I think about it because of Land Tank giving you Damage Resistance.
Great canidate to swap with Eye of Another World or Veritys Brow for when your super is on CD.
add in a demo rocket into the damage rotation in place of one of the melees for more damage
Demo has like a 4 second cooldown though
right so you could get it to auto reload your rocket twice during the damage rotation
cycle@@sequoia7284
this made me wanna start playing warlock again
You can use Apotheosis Veil for Starfire Protocol 2.0
Lmaooo the spikes i felt so hard. It makes me genuinely sad that weavewalk isnt a solution 😭😭😭
I’m a hunter main and I really like the beyblade build… but this makes me want to play warlock. Thanks for the build
Travellers chosen works on every single subclass in the game light and dark maybe yours is just broken 🤷🏻♂️
I believe with changes u made that the auto rifle monte carlo would work better. Or even crafted rufio with demo n hatchling
Honestly I thought that strand warlock was a treadling master.
But now I made a build that makes a hunter god of treadlings, with 4 resources to make threadling and unravel everything with final warning.
Even without killing enemies treadlings keep spawning by just shooting them thanks to my build
Oh the spikes in the coil. I love it.
well at least one of us loves them D:
@@MacticsG1 - I just love that I’m not the only person who has to apologize to the rest of my little group for hitting every single one of them like I’m some kind of Spike inspector
Mac .... Sprint - Slide through the spikes
This build is okay but you could run something like witherhorde in slot one, w.e in slot 2 and then a heavy with Demolitionist in slot 3. You can run Thread of Ascent on this build and then your heavy doesnt even need Demo on it - I've used this build to dump super, 2 or 3 grenades, and then 10 shots of Gally into a target within 20s
Witherhorder > Heavy > Super > Grenade (proc Heavy reload) > Heavy > manual Heavy Reload > Heavy > Grenade (proc Heavy reload) > Heavy > manual Heavy Reload > witherhorde > SPam heavy
"Can I interest you in some threadlings?" hahahaha
I love this series so much lol
It’s almost as if Apotheosis Veil was waiting all these years for Strand to drop, from the Veil.
We haven't gotten a dedicated video yet for any of the recent builds
I wonder if instead of Travelers Chosen, you could run something like Quicksilver storm or The Navigator or maybe Osteo Striga for the poison effect.
My only concern is how this works outside of the coil because of all the boost to regenerations you get. So far it looks like a coil build only.
I mean, that build could definitely juice your Rift recharge if you build for dual 100s, resilience and Recovery
i prefer rufus fury as my strand primary slot weapon since it can roll with pugilist in the left column for almost 100% uptime on your melee ability for more weave walk and hatchling in the right column for more threading's and this stacks with thread of rebirth.
Bro, in the coil buy the Melle recharge 300% 2x times and u can infinetly trow melle
Dont worry mactics I die to the spikes everytime too.... i soloed the coil last night and half my deaths were spikes -_-
I feel like that build would be better with the navigator this season because the navigator can give you woven mail and because of a perk in the season artifact when you pick up an orb you can get unraveling rounds
"Your first mistake was running warlock" - Hunter main
I personally like Weaver’s Call and The Wanderer. I find Weavewalk appears to use.
