One of the FINEST singers, P. Jayachandran - may his good soul rest in peace. He continues his musical journey by living with us through his voice. With a fine diction (his Tamil being better than any of his peers), deep earthy resonating vocals, and the finesse in rendering a song, he was top-notch. His best songs include: Maanjolai kiLi dhaano (impossible to reproduce, live or otherwise), album Vaidhegi KaathinrundhaaL album, Paadi vaa thendrale, evergreen hits like Kodiyile malligappoo, Thaalattudhe vaanam, Siththira chevaaanam, Oru vaanavil pole, and a bunch of rare songs like Poonthendrale (his first released song for IR), Enadhu vizhi vazhi mele, Oorellaam saamiyaaga etc. IR probably loved his voice so much that he adorned the singer's career with over ~100 gems in different genres over 2 decades (1977-97). Another all-time favorite from other music directors include: PoovaNNam (Salil), many Malayalam songs and a few Kannada songs.
