- This never before seen and heard footage apparently was shown at a Q&A with Tim Abbot and Iain Robertson in Sheffield. Credit for the recordings go to Rick Lyons here on YT and @RedBlueNinja10 on Twitter. I edited them together and zoomed to the screen. This is MEGA!!!
This is why Liam was the lead singer.
it's as simple as that
TRUTH
THAT VOICE!!! He is a superstar 💫✨
He can't sign like that now or in the past 15 years!!! Grow up all you thumbs up.
Yup
Absolutely mind blowing that voice jesus
There's a clip of him doing a bit of champagne supernova in the studio... holy shit,it's unreal.
Even tho Noel version isn't bad, with Liam Vocals this song would have been an absolute classic
Most songs would've been better with Liam. Like 90% of them (talking about the ones with Noel voacls). He was simply a better singer. And that's it. That's the fucking reality of it wether people want to admit it or not. And there's plenty of proof, like this example, Sad Song another, Lord Don't Slow Me Down another one and I'm sure I'm forgetting some. Hell, even Don't Look Back in Anger, Liam sounded mega in Glastonbury 2017.
@@Madferit91 I'd prefer Noel on Don't look back in anger, Lord don't slow me down, and sad song.
Simón Cartes I'm pretty sure the original song Uptight by Stevie Wonder that Noel Gallagher ripped it off from is already a classic
@@Madferit91 Definitely was (and is here). Hasn't been since his voice began the downward path it's been on since about 2000
@@sratus no its stevie wonder
My first listening of "step out": "Wow Noels vocals are incredible"
Me after listening Liams vocals: "What the fuck were you thinking Noel?"
Nah Noel's one is still fantastic
@@KoiNoYokan37 his point is yeah Noels are great but Liam’s are immense
Liam had an “Immense singing voice”, , Noel was a writer his voice wasn’t as good as Liam’s not for me. I wish Liam would try this again with his repaired voice. Not on a long tour like he just finished just as a occasional treat 💙
Yep
@@user-oh7iv3ij5x His voice is repaired partially because he couldn't sing like this anymore though. This song especially, would be way too taxing.
imagine being blessed with a voice like that
@@modernchampionmusic81 cursed? Mate what the fuck are you on
@@modernchampionmusic81 George Harrison didn't say that. And he didn't sound like that on Married With Children or I'm Outta Time so I'm not sure what you're talking about.
@@badgasaurus4211 in married with children Liam is singing rather softly and gently, Liam REALLY shined in power singing. Noel's voice was way better for softer songs. Liam couldn't sing sad song, talk tonight or half the world away as good as Noel. Just like Noel can't sing Cigarettes and Alcohol, Rock N Roll star and clearly Step Out as good as Liam. Some songs I think they both sing great in such as Some might say, Champagne Supernova or The Master Plan but what we've got is what we've got I suppose.
And as for I'm outta time, Liam had completely tortured his voice by that point. I mean it made the old raspy sounding voice that some consider iconic but it completely ruined that angelic sound that he had without any vocal training. Imagine if Liam didn't smoke like a chimney or drink as profusely as he did and instead took singing lessons I PERSONALLY believe Liam could have been a better singer than the likes of Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury, had he got proper training. But...Liams a rockstar, let's just enjoy this old footage of Liam and just shut the fuck up from now on
@@themightyme2330 Liam sang Sad Song better than Noel so I don’t what you’re talking about. Songs like Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Don’t Go Away and Wonderwall he did much better too. It’s a misconception that Noel does soft songs better. He doesn’t/didn’t
@@themightyme2330 awesome comment ,angelic early on . Yes.
Liam was an aggressive angel in 95
Any time you hear someone say Liam couldn't sing... send them here
Sure his voice isn’t up there with the likes of Freddie Mercury or Sinatra but Liam can and always has been able to sing in his own way. His voice PERFECTLY fits the music he plays.
@@BCS1105 he’s a rock & roll start, his voice matches the genre
You send them to rockin chair
Noels a better singer ,Liam has a nicer voice for the songs they had
@@K.H6751Noel couldn’t hold a candle to the flame that is Liam Gallagher.
Liam has so much natural talent, he couldn’t help but sing in tune, it took Noel 20 years to be an accomplished singer.
Liam and the strength of his voice is absolutely grand and unique. Imagine how many other Liam vocals on Oasis are "saved" from us fans?
Yeah cos he Blow's Noel out of the water that's why hel keep them back
Sad Song. Step Out. Unfortunately I don't think there are likely to be any others.
There isn't a Don't Look Back in Anger Liam vocal take, because Alan McGee said Noel should be on vocals for at least one major single. Bonehead's bank Holiday was originally meant to be Bonehead on vocals. Talk Tonight was so personal to Noel nearly leaving the band I assume it was always going to be his. Magic Pie was always going to be a Noel tune (he even once said it was the best he'd ever written, which is crazy). Angel Child was a demo.
So that leaves D'Yer Wanna Be a Spaceman, Half the World Away, The Masterplan, Going Nowhere, Flashbax, The Fame. As possible, but doubtful, contenders.
@@ZakynthosDiamandisalso the masterplan was one of the best songs that Noel wrote, he said so himself and even said that he regrets having put it as b side
Liam's voice is simply perfect. guess if liam have sang this one it might be more classic and recognized.
Noal wasn't joking he was the greatest singer in world
this pisses all over Noels version,i wonder why Liam never sung it on the record, same with Lord Dont Slow Me Down
Noel sounds miles better on lord don't slow me down.
Lee McQueen no dude, no
@@leemcqueen500 not a chance
clean ur ears out
Yeah Liam's version is better
@@leemcqueen500 Nonsense.
That voice
Liam: “Oh man this one is gonna sound great, my voice is perfect on this one for the album”
Noels ego: “I’m gonna stop you right there...”
...and said “It’s not going on the album for one thing...”
@@nobrakesukspeedway Probably because he had to give writing credits to Stevie wonder and Cosby.
@@leemcqueen500 would have had to either way
Mind blowing! With Liam's vocal this song would have been an absolute classic.
The drive he boasts in this recording is so perfectly intoned, man. He sounds so healthy; rich. Fucking amazing, a shame it didn't make the cut.
The power in that voice unreal
That was a bad ass vocal performance! Liam’s voice is so original and nobody sounds like him, incredible!
Now we need a mashup with the recording's instruments and Liam's voice.
It Will happen. This is a super clean recording
Already one up
Where is it
Noel should be sued to his ass for not letting Liam sing this one. Sounds absolutely amazing.
Lol….not sure he can be sued for singing his own song.
Well….singing Stevie Wonders song that he called “His” song….
@@nickholland6537Just arrest him then 😂
My god , a life long oasis fan. I’ve never ever seen this . This is simply incredible, why the hell wasn’t this the released version? Crazy good
There’s one out there. Just search Liam and step out
I’m obsessed
Epic voice.. The sound of an Era.. 90's greatest music starts from Liam's throat.
Raw, raspy, raucous and fucking relentless! This is what rock n roll is all about
Godlike.
Probably sung by Noel because of:
A. Lawsuit by Stevie Wonder
B. Liam too busy pubbing to finish it
C. Register- they were already having problems with live shows and adding this on top of Morning Glory and Some Might Say which both also top out Liam’s register to the set list would have obliterated Liam’s voice.
Shame though, the version we got is one of my favs and I feel a proper underrated tune. If it had Liam on vocals it might have got the attention it deserved.
also the key has been dropped down a semi tone here, which means he couldn’t actually hit the high A consistently enough to record “Step out” in full & in the right key.
We have to start a proper referendum to convince them to release a studio version of this! The world needs a single of »step out« with Liam’s vocals RIGHT NOW!!!
Liam: Damn, I can’t wait to hear my voice in this so-
Noel: Hold my sound system
In an alternate universe somewhere they used these vocals instead of Noels and "step out" became a bigger hit than "wonderwall"
PURE RAW talent....the last rock n roll star
Fucking immense and unique.
every notes was perfect
If Liams version was released instead of Noel’s it would’ve been mega. Unreal vocals
The sound of his voice was a breath of fresh air in ‘94. No ones voice is the same after 25 years. I’ve watch clips on UA-cam from his solo tour, he sounds better now than he did at the end of the oasis era. I’m sure he has picked up some technical tips on how to sing this last few years. The other thing is - he’s on his own now and he has to do the job with no one to fall back on. It’s been the making of him - responsibility.
I like him, he’s a fucking rocket as we say in Belfast but I’ve known people like him so who cares? Good luck Liam.
Liam's voice changed in less than 1 yr because he decided sing more raspier.
Think this would have been my second favourite song if liam sang it
Could have been an absolute classic...if it wasn't for...yknow, someone getting a bit uptight...
Liam needs to record step out again! Love this tune, love the voice, love the music. Stay healthy everybody❤️
Yeah, I’m sure a 2020’s recording of Liam Gallagher would just sound absolutely fucking amazing /j 😂
Passion and attitude in tune
That voice was sensational. It was never going to last even if he lived a monks lifestyle. Constantly fighting with his vocal chords but this was one of his finest
It's so cute the way 3 people in the entire world actually think Noel's version comes anywhere close to this.
And two of them are Noel
It's stupid that people like you keep comparing the two. They both bring their gifts to the table. Period.
@@conradrayner6317 bahaha you killed me man, one of the funniest comments of all time right here. Just brilliant
@@conradrayner6317 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@conradrayner6317 Haha! Noel has a decent voice, great songwriter but Liam is tops he can sing anything he’s proved how exceptional he is on the long tour he just finished. Writes great song but not very often.
This version seriously needs to be released
Nobody can touch this lad legend
Wow can you imagine this song with the full band. Knocked out of the park Liam 👏👏
Unreal. Needs releasing ASAP. Superb
What a great recording Liam sounds fantastic thanks for putting this video up 💙
Noel: my version is best
Liam and everyone else: 😏
That’s amazing to see, nice upload!! Much appreciated 👌
Gave me goosebumps listening to this!! If only he could sing like that now the world would be a better place.
Fucking hell what a voice back then
I'm not surprised he destroyed his voice.
He put his vocal chords through hell.
The boy can sing.......
greatest voice ever
release this in 2022 and straight to #1. Stevie WOnder needs some more doh.
Absolutely amazing!!!!
I woulld have loved liam s voice on dont look back in anger
That’s one song that belongs to Noel but this song needs Liam
Ngl that's one of the few songs that Noel deserves to sing...but this and sad song should've been sung by Liam for sure...d'you know what I mean?😂
I want to hear Liam singing don't look back in anger in the early 90s when liam and noel were both singing it to see who sang it on the album, even if its a demo I still want to hear a young Liam singing it, its got to be out there somewhere. when Liam and Noel were deciding who sings it. Noel got that song and Liam got wonderwall.
Yes but I’m pretty sure it was decided before any sessions. Liam just couldn’t and can’t sing the chorus on DLBIA
Best frontman ever 💚
Fookin brilliant
This is fantastic! To think they just hid this footage from us all these years! Wish they would release this version! Really makes you wonder how much more unreleased stuff with Liam on vocals is in the vaults. Really wish we could see more of such footage and hear all the unreleased stuff already
Noel eres un genio hiciste una excelente versión y la lanzaste ... pero la versión de Liam pudo y debió haber sido un súper hit ...
Siiiiii yo creo que Liam version es mas mejor!!!
noel was and probably still is jealous of Liam
amazing!
Why did they not use Liam’s voice for the studio version?
I think Noel said it was too high for Liam
Noel’s ego
@@Kaiser3456 noels version is full of auto tune
They didn't have "autotune" back then. Who knows why Noel chose to sing it; it could've been a number of reasons, thus putting it on "Noel's ego" etc. is bullshit until someone who knows better tells us.
@@runnersdialzero1244 well it sounds like he's singing down a cardboard tube
Liam should’ve sing this shit man, 😭
Liam in his prime is a God.
This is the only version of this song, I’ve ever liked.

Class man.
Ego is the death of man. Imagine if Noel could get over himself and let Liam perform
Goosebumps 🎸
Fucking amazing
watching this over and over and over and over.....
Goosebumps
Noel wrecked oasis telling Liam he was gona go on an sing first 4 songs Liam was like fuck that
My God may someone release this someday !!!
This is epic
I thank the manny that made this video every single day
Wooooowww!
PLEASE, Release it Noel. No excuse!
That’s was awesome
That is an incredible vocal and a travesty it was never released on a record
So does that mean we have hope for Liam's The Masterplan and DLBIA?
and also the fame, flashbax, shout it loud, talk tonite, one way road, angel child, idlers dream. with the footage of sad song and dyer wanna be spaceman being released, i think theres hope all these vocals exist...but little hope of hearing them. at least he did DLBIA live last year.
@@derkaiser1306 i also think there is a version of sunday morning call with liam vocals
I think Masterplan was Noel from Day 1, Liam in Lock The Box says he regrets not giving it a shot

@@leemcqueen500 its not been leaked but i remember an interview with liam where he said he had attempted the song when recording sotsog
Release it.
That my friends is authenticity
Como a voz de liam era perfeita
Lot of people saying that Noel did it in the end due to Liam not being able to sing it live sustainably, but the irony is that they ended up performing it only 4-5 times live in their history, if that. Like a lot of Liam songs, many of them ceased to be performed after ‘97 as his voice couldn’t keep up anymore - begs the thought, what was the point? Just let Liam do the song in the first place. Glad to see he’s bringing a lot of them back currently on his solo gigs.
It’s a shame, if you were to ask Liam about them now he either has no recollection of decision-making or just flat out isn’t arsed. Ask Noel, and he’ll massage his ego with an answer that suits him and belittles Liam, so I doubt we’d ever get a straight answer as to why Liam never sung it on the official record.
Exactly but Liam also loves to sing Oasis songs I think he would give this song a go I’m sure he could still sing it. He want’s to please the fans “Roll it over” was epic at the Etihad , 💙
Amazing
Godlike
La mejor voz de los 90
Noel wrote it, but Liam OWNED!!
You mean Stevie wonder
1:21 oooooh!!! XD That´s why I love him
noel was a excellent singer and he still is
but liam was beyond excellent at this time

what a voice.. jesus
Fuck me! Why didn’t I know that this existed?? Blown. Away!!!
I guess a Liam version of Step Up will be on WTSMG 30th anniversary version.
