Great build, ignore the negative comments. It flies so well.👍
yes I know that. I've been making RC planes for over 25 years, so I think I know how to make them
Chapeau
thank you
Nice work! Next up: puts a giant block of balsa to laser cut the entire plane in one piece. :-)
good idea, but this plan is more for the future
I loved building and flying 2 Meter Gliders as a kid. I had a 2 Step and a RO8. I still have a Prophet 941 Glider in my basement. Lots of fun.
Thank you
Great workmanship
Great build and project. Looks like she flies nicely. Thanks for the files.
Thanks
Great build and flight!
Esa sensación de volar un glider que uno construyó desde cero, es maravillosa. Bien hecho.
Gracias. Este es un avión muy bueno que es muy adecuado para principiantes, pero también ofrece mucho para los avanzados.
Love your builds Mark, work of art, love the cnc - on my wish list.
thanks
@@markoroolaid Как на трубе соединяються законцовки?
Old school to fly but really modern in construction: carbon rod,... Nice model and nice video 😍
thank you, thank you very much
That covering is so sharp looking.
Thank you for your comment
@@markoroolaid Your welcome.
Beautiful glider. Well done!!!
Thank you, thank you very much
I LOVE it! Great build Marko! 😊
Thank you
Beautiful work my friend. I love it. Big salute from Slovenia, Pilot Robert
WOW. I am a big fan and admirer of your channel. I'm so grateful you noticed and commented on my video. It is a great honor for me, thank you very much. And my salute from Estonia
@11:55 - that smile tells you all you need to know 😁
you are absolutely right
Spectacular, thank you for sharing all of it. Been looking for my next scratch build project and this is it!
That's a really good idea. Then share the process as well
Beautiful design and execution! ❤
Thank you very much
Beautiful work mate. I'd love access to a cnc machine to attempt building such an elegant glider. Very inspirational.
Thank you very much
look for maker spaces near a university
If you have patience theres no need for computers. Card stock stencils and a pack of surgical blades can get you the balsa cut.
Nice Work 👍👍
Beautiful plane, great build, but the incessant thumping noise in the background had me turning the volume off. Why was it deemed necessary? Downright maddening!
Ok, sorry
Impressive!
Thank you very much
Hey Marko, great job. I really like your videos. I would like to make the same glider, but could you please share, how did you make wing connection 1:55, not really clear from video. And I did not get, why you enforced here 1:12 the tubes? Thanks
Nice work!
Thank you
What is the machine that cuts the Vynil? looks very handy! Great Work!

Hello Marko
You are a very good model builder!
A beautiful plane you have built here. You seem to be perfect at foil ironing.
One question: How did you blacken the ribs ?
Thanks for the video !
Greetings Dieter
hi. black matte spray paint
@@markoroolaidThanks to👍
Marko, it looks like the fuselage sides are 3mm balsa with 3mm lite-ply doublers in the nose area. Is that correct? And the materials for the stabilizer/elevator and rudder fin are balsa or lite-ply? I'm assuming balsa but hard to tell from the video and not called out on the plans. I'm adapting your drawings for my (in Canada) imperial thicknesses, but just looking for clarification on materials. Thanks for posting this! Will put one together for this summer :-)
at 4:28, this wing would be more resistant to wracking, if it had ONE sub-spar.
whats your favourite thermal glider?
i'd love to see that, since your standards seem to be very high
even for a Simple lady
Nothing "simple" about that lady.
14:44 winds really helping you out not to often to come off right over anchor point.
at 3:08, WHAT is the stab slab made of.?!?!? whatever it is, it is a certainty that it is HEAVIER than it COULD be.
wood
Marko, what laser head are you using? I am thinking about building CNC laser cutter, but not sure which one to get. It seems to be very useful. thanks
Hi Michal, I'm using a Chinese CO2 130w laser. I've been working it for 8 years and everything works perfectly.
Beautiful glider you built Marko and it flies so well. I built a Gentle Lady years ago...looks a bit similar to yours. I was particularly interested in learning how to make and use, as shown in the video, your "Old school glider launch". Do you have any instructions and or video how you set up yours? It appears you got a lot of height. I would be pleased to learn how to launch mine GL as you did. Thanks
The location of the hook is very important. It should be located in front of the 7mm center of gravity. If the hook is on the front side, the start is low, but if you move the hook behind, the plane will go to the loop. It requires practice and experience
@@markoroolaid My GL had already a designated spot for the hook. What I am interested in is the launch mechanism i.e. length of rope...do you have somebody run with the rope or did you use an elastic cord? From the video it appears somebody is rolling out a very long rope. Anything you can add, and or confirm to get my plane launched is much appreciated. Thanks
The starting equipment is 30m 6mm round rubber and 120m 0.3mm 140kg line
at 3:35, not enough webbing/Mass is Removed from these SLAB stabs !!!!!!!
which means they will be stronger in a crash?
Beaultiful. how do you set up eletronics just for receiver, rudder and elevator?
Hi Marcelo. Very simple, the rudder goes to the receiver rudder channel and the elevator goes to the elevator channel. The whole story. No mixes are needed
Hi marko,
I love the build and would love to do this build. Would you be kind enough to share your plan /cnc files with me. Cheers
hi, grabcad.com/library/rc-glider-simple-lady-v2-diy-balsa-construction-1
Das ist Modellbau! Super! Welche Maschine ist das, die die Teile herausschneidet? Fliegen tut sie auch wie eine Lady, was? Wunderbar!
Hallo. ja sie fliegt wirklich schön. Die Flügelrippen werden mit einem CO2-Laser geschnitten
Aha, danke! Viel Spass weiterhin!
Hi Marko,
I love your builds and am looking at something similar to this simple lady. However i want to go electric. Have you done anything like that in this style of build? I have a radian that i have crashed but all electrical components are good and thinking this planemaybe a good conversion?
Can i get your thoughts?
Cheers
Chris
Hi Chris. Here is a video series on how I made an electric glider. ua-cam.com/play/PLmZWex_VNpXeN4wfX26ezRpSQN2DKZzqd.html
I have seen that build too. But bones looks abit big for me. 2m wingspan is a good size for me to and really if i am honest i am happy with just elevator and rudder. As long as it has a great gliding speed/rate i would be happy. I have a cnc machine but i don't have a printer which is also another reason. Do u think the simple lady could handle being electric? Or would i have to put carbon in the fuse and wing to stiffen it up?
Hey Marko do you sell kits?
Unfortunately not
what is the material that u are using to cover the frame of the wings, ive been 3d printing for a couple yrs an have always used it to help with building my foam rc planes but ive always seen ppl do this but never knew what materials they was using an it wasn't pointed out in the videos, have no hobby shops local or anywhere i can even take them once i build them so i m always looking for an area large enough to fly them but ive always wanted to build one that was completely 3d printed but if i actually went through with it i dont know if a large plane like that would require a larger place to fly but i assume it would an building one like this seems like it would help keep weight down so ive been considering doing it like that now but have alot to figure out b4 i go that directions.
hi, this is a covering film. link hobbyking.com/en_us/covering-film-transparent-yellow-5mtr-203.html
@@markoroolaid thanks really appreciate it.
@@markoroolaid probably a stupid question but is there a color u would suggest, something that would be easier to see while flying, thanks again.
in general, no colors can be seen when flying, all shades become gray. Because of this, it can be said that transparent covering film is the best, then the color does not matter
@@markoroolaid ok thanks
What kind of paint do you use to make your ribs black?
Hi Richard, black matte spray paint
Plz tell me the electronics details that you have used in this glider plane
It's in a very simple plane and only works with 2 channels- rudder and elevator. I use micro servos and a 4x3AAA battery in the plane. Instead of a micro servo, you can also use standard servos, but then you must do new servo mount
so, does a heat gun make the covering stick to the RIBS.?!?!
around two corners
the heat softens the adhesive
and shrinks the foil
and that shrinking presses the adhesive on the ribs?
can I purchase one of the kits?
Greetings, unfortunately not
How much for a kit ?
Unfortunately, we do not sell kits
rudder is ridiculously LARGE
TOO MANY RIBS. means EXTRA/unnecessary MASS.!!!!!!
but a more accurate airfoil over the whole wing?
at 8:36, this vert-stab is POORLY designed and Heavy.!
I was already worried about you that no comments had come for a long time. But now all is well. Go on, I like your crinitism
What did you colour the ribs with….spray paint? 🤔 (I think I’m going to build this) OMG, you’ve got some gadgets, I’m not envious at all though…..honestly 🫣
black matte spray paint. When you start making the plane, share pictures of your progress
@@markoroolaid Will do Marko. I hope you don’t think it’s creepy or weird when I copy your colour scheme exactly. Black is a great colour for RC gliders.🤓
it doesn't bother me at all, it makes me happy that others like my visions and ideas
@@markoroolaid they do say “imitation is flattery” 😎👍
