I bought my Vision Pro because I’m 71 years old and have been enamored with technology ever since attending the New York World’s Fair in 1964. It was their glimpses of the future that enthralled me. I had my first computer class in 1969, though we only had a terminal with a cradle modem. My teacher suggested that we would have desktop computers within 10 years, and that prophecy came true. Later that year, I watched as men landed on the moon. In 1984, I was introduce to the Macintosh by a friend. I remember using a mouse for the first time. It was magic. I stood in line to buy the first iPhone in 2007. The Apple Vision Pro is something I’ve wished for my entire life. How could I not make the purchase?
68 here. Similar path. 1964 Worlds Fair, first computer use at 15 at IBM Yorktown in Explorer scouts (IBM 360) - learning Fortran and Basic. First personal computer in 1977 (TRS-80). Mac in 1984 and even got a Newton! Got an iPhone in 2007, and various MacBook and Macs along the way. Got the Apple Watch 1st gen. It’s the future, and the VIsion Pro continues the trend. It’s like magic. I’m an electrical and computer engineer and worked much of my life in industry, then became a professor of engineering. As you said, how could I not make the purchase. (It really is a full-blown computer and so much more).
That is so cool you bought one. I love that you were into the tech every step away. My goal is to keep up with tech as you have. Thank you for sharing your experience. It really is amazing technology. I wish my dad was around to see it as a big Star Trek fan. He would have loved it. Thanks for watching.
That is great Guy. I am impressed you got the Newton even. That is great. Like you said it is a full blown computer. I am excited for the tech to become the norm. It just needs a sharing mode so you and others see the same thing. Thanks for watching.
I’ve had the Vision Pro now for just over a month. I find myself getting up even earlier so I can enjoy a little time on the AVP before the day get started I also find myself staying up even later to use the Vision Pro. Everything is better to me when using the Vision Pro From UA-cam to Instagram and of course, movie watching TV watching watching your own recorded videos. And what it can do with the Photos app spatial videos making my memories come to life in front of me I just can’t get enough
That is great to hear you are enjoying yours so much. Content is so cool on it. It is amazing the spatial videos we can make. Panoramic photos are awesome. Thanks for watching.
After I did the demo in the Apple Store, I had to walk out and smoke a cigarette because I was blown away of the reality. When I walked back in, I threw down my card and I walked out. I absolutely love my vision! I upgraded to the terabyte just in case and as far as I’m concerned, it is worth every single penny. I have not even picked up my MacBook using this. If you can afford it, do it we are at the precipice of what is coming.
Lovely video. I am getting mine in one week as I work as a producer and editor for a media company. I know this isn’t a perfect product, but it’s very important I stay up to date with where entertainment is moving. Btw, your lighting is phenomenal. Makes sense to hear you worked in that industry for so long haha. Cheers friend
Thank you very much for the lighting complement. I think that is a great idea as a producer and an editor. There is so much more value in shooting IMAX movies. It definitely will change the movie industry from a technical standpoint. No more making everything look good through the camera and not seeing all the lights and hardware to make the shot. Now everywhere will be in the camera shot. I hope you enjoy yours.
A little over a month into mine and I’m continually amazed at the experience. The hardest part is not being able to really share it. People I know who would love it would need lenses just to try it, and no amount of talking about it or videos of it have anything on the actual experience of it
Very cool. I am glad to hear you are enjoying yours. It is a bummer that it can’t be shared. Even if you cast it to an Apple TV it looks like shaky. That is a bummer they would need lenses. It really is something to experience. My wife and daughter were blown away.
I ended up returning mine because my screens were a bit hazy on the edges, maybe I need reader lenses. I found it heavy and the battery performance pretty poor. However, I miss it so much I might buy it again and keep it this time.
I’m not gonna lie I agree the speaker system is mind blowing experience. I had to takeoff my headset just because I thought something happened outside for a moment.
I kept mine too, I mostly use it for 3D movies. Haven’t worn it out in public yet, but if they had Pokémon go for it I totally would! The new shared experiences are promising and I’m looking forward to seeing what content will be available in the future.

After 1+ months with the VP, I love it even though all the caveats about practical applications etc are true. It's a breakthrough product and I know Apple will fully develop it and my investment will pay off.
I’ve had mine for a few days and I have enjoyed the ability to do work on it. I need to spend more time with just the entertainment, but overall it is turning out to be exactly what I needed to assist me in productivity.
i am definitely looking forward to see what samsung is working on! i had every generation of oculus and then meta headsets and i'm more then ready to switch to something else.
I can appreciate that. The two biggest factors that cancel out the minuses are, playing with the technology and blaming it on the channel. Thanks for watching.
I had that problem until I realized that I was taking video of my exterior environment. You need to do a video screen capture, accessible from the control center.
Thank you Steven for answering this. The one thing I keep forgetting to do that drives me crazy is turning on the microphone. You do a long pinch on the record button and then turn on microphone. Multiple times I was doing a screen recording and had no audio.
@@CraigsTechTalk oh I was recording my first back yard clip and played it back and got no audio. Im glad you mentioned this Craig. I will try this long pinch for recording audio. I hope it works. And recording the color eclipse today with the pro vision was a dud. lol.
@@CraigsTechTalk I had a feeling it wouldn't work. That's why I had the SONY mirrorless on the tripod with the 200-500 mm lens. I got a couple good shots for sure. Keep up the great content. Thank you :) And the awesome tip that I will definitely use.
I can’t believe people are buying the 256GB version. That’s nothing. I have micro SD cards that hold more. I bought the 1TB Vision Pro. It’s worth the price difference. This thing is amazing!
Yeah, I'm not watching an accurate representation of someone walking a tightrope over what would be a fatal drop. ... but other than that I think there's an awful lot of promise in the AVP. I cannot even begin to justify the cost of the current model, but maybe I will be able to in a few years with a higher-resolution model. Yes, I think it needs even higher resolution.
This is definitely a device that needs to be experienced. Anything I show is just another video. But once you put it on and experience it, then it gets exciting. Like you I see a lot of promise and really hope a lower priced version comes out soon. Thanks for watching.
I have things i would like to be able to do like look at the actual image of the sky wherever i am as if there is no ceiling over my head, and i would like to be able to zoom in on what is there so when i am at the beach and i see someone fishing in a boat pulling in a fish then i could zoom in and see it like i am wearing great binoculars. i am disabled and my eyesight is bad enough that when i look up at the stars and out to sea it all more or less a blur now. Going from that back to normal which i do think this can do, to a super human ability to see further would be life changing. and how about macro and even microscope ability? Picking up a shell on the beach and being able to use AI to identify it and perhaps a hand held other device to see it with a microscopic lens magnification opens up a new level of superpowers. pairing this with a drone to use while fishing to look down into the water or from a camera underwater on the bobber or attached to my crab cages might be great also. i am ready to be attached to this kind of sensory ability to reach for things i and see the world better than i ever have after decades of not being able to do that like i did when i was whole.
Do they have an effect on people's vision strength or not? I wonder, cause it is so close to your eyes, not sure if it will do something or not. I think it will really be bad for your vision 😕
I was curious about that too. It can actually be gentler on the eyes. The reason why is that it is blacked out inside the Vision Pro. So the displays are able to run at a much lower intensity. Watching a bright TV in a dark room is more strain on the eyes. Your eyes have to adjust to try and balance the bright against the dark. The Vision Pro can run lower and give you an evenly lit environment. A balanced level is much gentler on the eyes. The bigger issue is red eye. Studies have found that people don't blink as much with the headset on. Then they take it off, have dry eyes and rub them making them red. Thanks for watching and mentioning this.
That’s interesting. I hadn’t thought about it. The good thing is that the Vision Pro has an M1. There is still the potential to get AI. I can see Apple having their hands full with the basics on Vision OS. The beta of 2.0 is so minor with updates. Thanks for watching.
