      @@apnosaurus I unironically spent like two hours trying to understand what the math meant in that paper’s figures and my friend and I made fun of it for not including a enough different animals so this comment feels validating 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 (I wrote the script based on an article I remembered and I hadn’t read it before editing!)

    23:28 i don't know. This documentary consulted Darren Naish and Mark Witton to make the pterosaurs
    27:14 As i just said, Mark Witton worked on this and you cited him many times as your source. You are sounding like David Peters
    29:08 maybe they just reconstructed it as a nyctosaurid
    14:07 that gorgosaurus is like 3 times taller than the juvenile rexes. It is obviously older

      The consultants aren’t directors or animators, and actually have much less involvement than one might think. Both Naish and Witton are artists and restore pterosaur wrists properly, it is just a touch that was lost during production that annoys me. Regarding the retraction of the wing membrane, this is something that I clarify is not confidently known. What is shown in the episode is one of multiple possibilities, but one that I find to be less likely than a more reserved and “typical” approach.
      Also I am well aware that Alcione is a nyctosaurid, I repeatedly point out their not having hands because they’re shown climbing despite being the least equipped pterosaurs shown to climb.
      As said in the introduction, most of my gripes come from the consultants not being as involved as I wish they were.

      @@kandyeggs I am aware that the consultants would not be able to define how the final design of the animals would be. But imo i see no reason for the directors make like, the pterosaurs wings sucked closer to the finger.

      Imagine Deinocheirus being included in a documentary like walking with dinosaurs, and restored like a typical ornithomimosaur (as it was assumed to be until 2013).

      @@kandyeggs yeah, if it was restored like that it would not be accurate but most of the know long extinct animals are fragmentary and with the time the reconstructions of them would be inaccurate
