Sathram Pullumed Traditional Trekking path | Sabarimala | Periyar Tiger Reserve | Periya Pathai

The pilgrimage experiences through the traditional Pulmedu the grassland,a walk of 12 km from Vandiperiyar Sathram through periyar forest to sannidhanam are well-famous. The specialty of the path is about to go down to Sabarimala instead of going up. From 7 am to 2 pm, the Pulmedu route is allowed to access. Other state pilgrims, most of those traveling through this way. If you get out early in the morning you will reach Sannidhanam by evening.
The Periyar Tiger Reserve starts from the Vandiperiyar Sathram (12 km). There are regular bus services till Sathram. If you love a little adventure, you can walk from Vallakkadavu to foot. The walk through the tea plantation of a private company. With a few distances away from the Vallakadavu, the tea estates will disappear and the beautiful grasslands will start to shine. There are about 4 km away from Sathram. Open the jungle path for the devotees only on special days. There is a forest check post in Sathram. The name and details of all the devotees going through Pulmedu are recorded here.
The subsequent forest route is through the Azhutha range under the Periyar West division. At the start, one-kilometer uphill climb. It is tied to both sides to tie the knot. But the hardness of climbing is eliminated with the cool air of the evergreen forest. The hill climbing goes to the vast grassland. These hills are located close to the Periyar river.
Then there's an open terrain trip to you. This wild path is a part of the Periyar Tiger Reserve, passes through Seethakulam, Zero Point, Uppara and Wanni Patti. When the sixth kilometer walks, the Bochanasala(food spot) is supervised by the forest department. kappa(Tapioca) and Kanji are the main dishes. There are facilities for medical assistance. The forest department's monitoring stations are working in different parts of the way.
Cutting down the slopes where the grasslands seem to be, Dense forests, narrow paths. The rocks and trees will double the strain for the legs. More than 4 km distance will continue in this same situation. On the way, Urakkuzhi Theertha, the water from the hills will reach the envelope low enough to stand out a single person. Get a bath from here and enter Sannidhanam
