This is yet the best real word review, instead of only reading down specs. I couldn’t find yet a pdf manual, interested how the different AF modes are best used. Depending on that I might switch Nikon to Leica. No chance to me to test this in Switzerland, I am only an unknown local professional doing lot of photojournalism in the tiny region I live, far off the larger Swiss cities...
Seems like a beautiful camera. I have heard 2 concerns from seeing reviews thus far: 1. The focus is only one dimensional and not that good and 2. The EVF was not good in several reviews. Have you found any of this top be case? Why is there no eye AF that allow you to pick the eye? The screen is immovable? Why?
I’ve been hearing about focus issues What’s going on with that? Anybody... I’m seriously thinking about purchasing one but that’s an issue I gotta get straight
Partially. But give both cameras a shot and I can assure you the Leica overall experience is better. But if you're using it purely for work and your experience is second to the client just get the the S1R. It still gets the job done.
Thank you. Great first look. Wondering if you are going to compare IQ of the 24-90 with the APO SL Summicron 50mm. Would be interesting. Thx.
Thanks for pointing out the way that diopter works on the SL2. What great attention to detail and design. I’d love to be an SL owner at some point.
I'd love to see a detailed comparison between the SL2 and the S1R

Wait, which review said EVF is not good?
I like the dancer the most!
How is the high ISO performance?

It's an S1R so Panasonic autofocus.
Perhaps wait for some firmware updates. The criticisms of Contrast AF usually only apply to video or tracking.
Stunning... and so is the Leica.
No articulating screen is kind of a letdown for someone with a bad back who shoots a lot of low-angle stuff. Oh well. Great review/pics.
for video too, big bummer
How much - what's the retail (MSRP) price. Looks dope, I'll start saving :)
looks very nice 📸📸👍
¡Weeeepa! Mi gente
I am dreaming that I could have Leica someday.
It got some serious video specs on there.
This camera is US$6000, but in Australia they are asking 9900 which is about US$6900. Thanks Leica
You should live in New Zealand
NZD 12200 or Aus S 11200.
Who gets ripped off now
Montana Dalton, you ROCK.
niceeeeeeeeee!!!!!
Is this basically the Panasonic camera re-skinned ?
Silvestro Crino little more than that

Some of the modules may be the same; tuning and synthesis are different.
I just think it’s amazing that she can move like that in those clothes and with boots
This is an S1R with a Leica Sticker and slightly shaved down filter.
and with worst af and fixed screen
😳😍😍
I just want to know what jeans the girl in the thumbnail is wearing? Look comfyyyy!
Oh great, they are overcharging us again at 8,200 USD here in Japan. Might as well fly overseas and get it if it was in anyone's budget.
