The important message I learned from this video, that it is all about civil disobedience. It starts with individuals dissidents who act as motivating examples for larger movements of civil disobedience. One example dissident I see at the moment is street pastor and political activist Artur Pawlowski who is clashing with the Canadian regime and is trown in jail 3 times in short period. He is not afraid and the regime feels that.

I studied the Holocaust in depth for a year, my senior year in college. I am telling you, every single step that was taken to have the people comply before 6 million people were murdered, has reoccurred in the last couple years worldwide. I have NO political affiliation and would be embarrassed if I did. This is about saving humanity. This comes down to every single human being’s actions that either lead to tyranny or they don’t. If you get a job knocking on doors, asking detailed questions about the lives of every human in the household- you are part of the movement to enslave humanity. I have quit a few jobs as a Corporate Accountant, knowing my actions would not be contributing to the freedom I wish for this planet. Step up folks.
Somehow I think the people in government have been saying the same thing. Perhaps its that very mindset that is the problem. Technically, we are the government. It is a manifestation of our drives and psyche.
I really liked this. Many quotes were very thought provoking and I found myself thinking more about their implications than passively absorbing whatever analysis is provided. This is definitely worth a couple watches.
The section on being guided by one's conscience (11:00-11:35) has really rang true for me this past year, like never before. A little over a year ago I was forced to retire early because of the mandate. My hesitation prior to then was based on safety concerns. However, when the mandate came down in October 2021, I was outraged at being compelled to put something into my body, against my will, or lose my job. So I retired, 4-5 years earlier than planned. Perhaps the most tangible consequence of my decision was how isolated I immediately became at work, during the time between making the decision and then departing a little over a month later. Since all of my co-workers had already complied with this requirement, on a voluntary basis no less, the whole issue of my being forced to do this, against my will, never really registered with them. Although it was never said out loud, I suspect the main reaction on their part was: "we took it, so we don't see what the problem is." So, there was no outrage on their part that I was being forced to do this. None. These are all intelligent and compassionate individuals, but my unwillingness to comply created a chasm between us that remains to this day. Civil disobedience at the individual level can be a very lonely road to walk. However, if this is the path that is directed by one's conscience, loneliness far better thing to have to deal with than guilt and self-loathing for having given into pressure. James 1:2-4.

I like the finish with ol’ Henry David. Naturalists thrive on true freedom. Often this brings them to the wilderness, where they experience an absence of societal pressure and suppression and dive into a truer sense of living. Edward Abbey once said “society is like a stew. If you don’t stir it up once in awhile then a layer of scum floats to the top.” For me, I live to be in the mountains, and after months of hiking alone I come back with a further understanding of freedom and the dilemma with our enslaving society. So my advice to add, “Go take a hike, for as many days possible. You’ll come back wiser, freer, happy, and a better rebel than ever before!” :)
"Know how to act against the tyrants when you are ready for freedom." The majority of people do not have the courage, confidence, or willingness to face what they know is the right course of action.
Agreed. I've been done wearing the mask except where its enforced by the Nazis (gym, school). What else can we do? I talk to my friends and many agree with how insane this is.

One thing that gives me hope: in a class of 25 kids at least 20 of them want a mutiny and to be free to go wild. At least 19 of them are too scared...until that one or two rebel. At that point, the others eagerly follow suit.

Thank you. Your channel has helped me in ways that I could explain. To be completely honest I struggle a lot with guilt and what it means to be a good person, and what that even means in action. Sometimes I really dont like the way I act because I act out in many ways, but I also feel like so much is wrong in the world that its almost justified. @@wj3186 sorry for the late reply I just saw this but here is my answer: Ever since the pandemic started, I started paying more attention to the politicians who have instituted lockdowns and realized that the people at the top do not have our best interest at heart. All they cared about was their power. It took me some time to deal with the fact that the system I trusted so much did not work the way it was supposed to. It was chaotic and sometimes I felt like I was losing mind but in this journey I realized that only one who has the right to rule me is myself. I realized no one can have power over you if you don't let them have it. And these videos played a huge part in my evolution.
"It is no matter of mere happenstance by whom profound and relevant wisdom comes to those who need it most in that most critical moment whether by alien as it were or passionate ravings of preachers and prisoners meting out the gravity of their words; disturbing as the consequences of suffering foretold. The latter of whom they might believe..." Iridim
In light of the philosophy that this video propounds, Indian independence struggle against British imperialism is a testimony of how mass civil disobedience (1930) can make an invincible tyrant kneel down. Nonviolent civil disobedience throughout India was a wake-up call for British raj. It realised that once the conscience of 'enslaved' gets awakened, it cannot be thwarted for long. For today's society, 'Brave New World' by Aldous Huxley gives a great insight into how when your conscience finds its' voice, solace comes in seeking the answers to the questions that hitherto you were oblivious to. I personally feel that many wouldn't want to awaken their inner-voice, for many ' ignorance is bliss'. It would be cruel to subject an unprepared mind to existential realities, nature has its own ways of doing that. We as mortals should limit ourselves to our own search, not make it a personal agenda to awaken everyone, that would be equivalent to a tyrant/egoist trying to see everything in his own colour. Of course, like 'Academy of Ideas', like other great thinkers and philosophers, we can give our inner thoughts and realizations an expression. We can make videos, write books, paint pictures, compose music or whatever that appeals to us, through our work we can project our findings/realizations out in the world hoping that someday some other seeker would stumble upon my work. There are mystical aspects to the workings of the universe too, we can't deny this. Not everything works according to reasons and logic. This 'time' according to Buddhism, Hinduism and other old religions, is an age of "Kali' or 'Kali-Yug' which means 'a time of darkness', the majority will live their lives in darkness, in oblivion. We can just contribute a beautiful verse in this ongoing poem so that at least a flicker of light remains here and there.
My mom had been an anarchist from her teen years. She taught me to be the same, to question everything and everyone. I now see that everyone is selfish regardless of whether they perform good or bad deeds, they all do it for selfish reasons. My anarchy has brought me to the point where if someone does a bad selfish deed, I shall respond with selfish bad deeds that benefit me while not caring if it harms them. If someone does a good deed, I shall reward them for my own selfish reasons it making sure to not harm them. Anarchy can be used for good or bad and you have to fight fire with fire.
I was juggling with these ideas for the last couple of weeks. It becomes clear that everyone must start acting locally. Sharing these ideas on social media has become meaningless, even worse than trying to discuss them in person. The only way out is that everyone who wants to disobey actually acts on it and in his/her neighborhood. In every shop, bakery, institution, everywhere. Great video!!
Yes. We have seen a small number of local communities/towns refuse to comply with lock-down mandates across the US. I think this is the most viable method of civil disobedience against this Cov-19 authoritarianism. We just need far more towns to follow these examples. Hopefully that will get the ball rolling, leading to larger populations being willing to stand against lock downs.
I have found that when I share videos that align with my thinking of any sort, I almost always get some sort of reaction. Rarely that reaction is positive. Sometimes it may be mostly neutral. Other times dismissive, or even outright disapproving.... But no matter how many times I share one of your videos with people they almost always ignore it. Bad? I dont think so. I honestly believe that people are becoming more and more comfortable in their ideological prisons. So comfortable that they've convinced themselves it's not a prison but home. And your videos are like a window to the freedom that awaits outside in the real world. They ignore the message because it's so clearly presented that it invokes profound cognitive dissonance and they do not know how to digest it

At this point it seems like the tree of liberty is rotten from the inside. I feel as though we need to go back to the original roots and start growing a new tree of liberty that we can nurture like our forefathers and make sure it is healthier then the last.
@@MATTLEism Yeah. But Communism will come, we will die, evil will reign unchecked, and there's not a damned thing that will stop it until God returns. Biden will be President, free speech and right to bear arms will be destroyed, and we'll be sent to concentration camps. Out children will starve and our wives will cry, while we are unable to change anything.
Death and destruction are not for far off nobodies - they are for us. America is no better than Russia or Germany or China - we are human beings, prone to malice and whoredom and unspeakable atrocities.
We will die. And that will be that. We will not be remembered. We will do nothing significant- or if we do we will be dead anyway.

"The one thing more wicked than the desire to command, is the will to obey"
William Kingdon Clifford
The important message I learned from this video, that it is all about civil disobedience. It starts with individuals dissidents who act as motivating examples for larger movements of civil disobedience. One example dissident I see at the moment is street pastor and political activist Artur Pawlowski who is clashing with the Canadian regime and is trown in jail 3 times in short period. He is not afraid and the regime feels that.
The difference between having convictions and having the courage of your convictions, i.e., the willingness to stand on those convictions and not change them, no matter the cost. Well presented, Academy. Well presented, indeed.
This video could not have described 2020 more perfectly.

"Freedom Is Nothing But A Chance To Be Better"
- Albert Camus
Take a Stand and ACT
It's far beyond time to put this into practice and remove the criminals in government. The time for dialogue is over, now we need action.
I'd rather be a traitor to my government rather than a traitor to myself
Somehow I think the people in government have been saying the same thing. Perhaps its that very mindset that is the problem. Technically, we are the government. It is a manifestation of our drives and psyche.
I really liked this. Many quotes were very thought provoking and I found myself thinking more about their implications than passively absorbing whatever analysis is provided. This is definitely worth a couple watches.
I would love to translate your works into Persian, so many Iranians need to hear these messages.
All the best buddy,
Everyone in the world needs these ideas, tyranny is everywhere albeit in different proportions.
With you in spirit
Although it was never said out loud, I suspect the main reaction on their part was: "we took it, so we don't see what the problem is."
So, there was no outrage on their part that I was being forced to do this.
Wow. I cant explain how grateful i am to find this channel through AfterSkool channel. This is the best video ive seen. Almost ever. So necessary. This has been my life for years! "Stop being complicit in the crime of obedience" should become our new motto
All of Australia needs to watch this video.
"Know how to act against the tyrants when you are ready for freedom." The majority of people do not have the courage, confidence, or willingness to face what they know is the right course of action.

Uh, Sartre was an outspoken commie / socialist / statist, so I’m not sure he was the best person to quote here. Ditto for Orwell.

@@wj3186 sorry for the late reply I just saw this but here is my answer:
Ever since the pandemic started, I started paying more attention to the politicians who have instituted lockdowns and realized that the people at the top do not have our best interest at heart.
Thank you for an amazing presentation of important information.
Truly a wonderful thought provoking video for the times we are in, thank you
Academy of ideas is truly doing his part with these videos
You have brought me hope and sanity in this time of madness
I have found that when I share videos that align with my thinking of any sort, I almost always get some sort of reaction. Rarely that reaction is positive. Sometimes it may be mostly neutral. Other times dismissive, or even outright disapproving....
But no matter how many times I share one of your videos with people they almost always ignore it.
Bad? I dont think so. I honestly believe that people are becoming more and more comfortable in their ideological prisons. So comfortable that they've convinced themselves it's not a prison but home. And your videos are like a window to the freedom that awaits outside in the real world. They ignore the message because it's so clearly presented that it invokes profound cognitive dissonance and they do not know how to digest it
No its not comfortable their afraid of being wrong an your a sore constant reminder of it. Keep showing them the window of freedom.

Great video. Civil disobedience is a good state of mind. One problem with its expression is that such movements are too easily infiltrated.
