Coach, another great video. Love how you give back to the coaching community with your free videos. I’m an old coach and really pick up the new terminology when you make these videos .
Thank you
Thank you for this video, always looking to get as much info about the Tite/Mint front as possible.
I’m still doing more research myself, just thinking about how we can get to it
Great Video. A Lot Of Knowledge Shared. Thanks.
Thank You
Appreciate your videos coach! Very helpful. We went full tite front as our base last year. Had ups and downs as most programs do. Really like it and want to continue to expand on it. Love this stuff! Thanks again!
Glad to help!
Coach this is a great video. Thank you very much. Gonna try to interchange 4-2-5 w/ Mint...we'll see. keep em on their toes
Awesome
Coach-
We just finished our 3rd year having the Tite front as our base. Had a ton of success with it going 8-1 this season.
I’m looking to learn more about it each offseason. Most of our base principles derive from Jeff Reinebold & his Coaches choice videos . Are there any other resources out there you recommend or other colleges that are tite front base teams ? (I know you mentioned Georgia but would love to have some others to watch on Saturdays if you knew offhand)
Second question- would love to see a video of the different things you can do with that Jack in the Mint front vs. 3x1
Dave Aranda, 2018,2019 LSU
You can also use the “Mint Closed” front which is something we starting using this past season. Closed tells Jack to align to whatever side the tight end is aligned, so against 3x1 with TE strong, you get the Jack in a 6/9 depending on coverage. This is something Alabama uses on occasion (where I learned about it)
At 19:09 when you take the R linebacker and move him to the right to cover the curl to flat, is he in man or zone? If he were in zone wouldn't he have a circle on the dry erase board? The way I read the board, he is in man.
Sorry I don’t draw it that way, he is a zone dropper playing a pattern match concept
@@CoachMac Now I understand your defense. I thought that you were trying to play man against a WR with a linebacker. Now I understand you were/are playing linebackers in zone against the WR. It makes sense now. I wouldn't play a linebacker man-up against a WR, he would get burnt.
Great stuff coach!!
Thanks
Thank you for posting. I love your videos especially how you explain the origin of a scheme and the how diverge from the original along with the reason why.
Correct me if I am wrong, but you Nose is not playing 2-Gap right?--your alternating between sending the Mike from the left and the right during the game, rather than have the Nose occupy both A Gaps?
One more question: You explained that you have LB/Safety hybrids at your school and that's why you continue to use them in this front in you offense. When would it be more advantageous to use a corner instead of a safety?
The Mike and Nose play the A Gaps, if you had a corner that was really physical in the run game you could use him
@@CoachMac thanks coach for the quick response
What would you with the Jack/Rush linebacker in 2x2 with the back set to the boundary and wide wide receiver splits? Would you still leave him to be that C-Gap presence and go 2/2 out wide, or would you change up the front? If you go 2/2, how do you account for a pre-snap RPO hitch or slant from #2 Weak?
You can remove the Jack to play coverage and add the ILB to get a 4th rusher
Facing a 2x2 1 back set, how do you handle when they send the back in motion? From what it sounds, it sends 5 of your guys in motion to rematch the new passing strength and then changes the backers coverage/blitzing assignments.
In base we are just pushing if we get out leveraged, doesn't change anybody's assignment. We have other coverages to go to if pushing backers is an issue.
Do you slant or mostly 2 gap with your DL?
We are actually mostly 1 gap up front, play a ton of Tite Front now
@@CoachMac How would y’all play Wing T teams with that personnel
3-3-3? I’ve heard your allowed to play with 11
I like the challenge!!!! Just talking about the structure of our Stack with 3 safeties
I mean do CBs even tackle tho? Technically it's nine. lol
