having grown up in innercity LA during those days, Harper was my favorite player to this day. We lost a lot of games at the Sports Arena, but Harper and Manning were my heroes growing up. I still have Ron's jersey from those days in my closet. I just can't fit into them anymore.😂
Well summed up. Harp was one of the best 2 guards in the late to early 90's. Changed his game up, made the ultimate sacrifice for the better of the team and to win those coveted titles. Shame they didn't focus on him much at all in The Last Dance. That was a glaring hole in the doc.
Great video. I dont know why people say Harper couldnt score once he joined the Bulls. The offense the Bulls ran didnt allow him to be the scorer he was with the Clippers and Cavs.
One of the besy players who never made the All Star team. It’s a shame that most folks only remember the Bulls & Lakers era Harper and not the “poor man’s Michael Jordan“ Harper from early on
The bulls acquired Harper before Jordan came back but he was not the same offensive player because of his knees. He was averaging below 10 points a game before Jordan came back. He was brung to the bulls to help provide offense.
Ron Harper had two parts to his career that every player should know and model if they were given the opportunity. Borderline All-Star caliber player with the Cavs and the Clippers, and defensive stalwart with the Bulls. As long as it was to win the title, Ron sacrificed his offense to be a heck of a defender, despite not being a DPOY or making the all defensive team with the Bulls. He was just as important as the Big Four and HOFers in MJ-Pippen-Rodman-Kukoc.
Rob Harper was a allstar snub 2years with the Clippers in the 2seasons they made the playoffs and in his last year in Cleveland. He was like a more flamboyant Eddie' Jones with more ball handling ability in the late 80s with a very subpar to average outside shot at best in his Prime. HE'S still 1 of the best players ever to not make a allstar team along with Rod Strickland,Jamal Crawford, and Cuttino Mobley they were some of the most respected players also.
If harper Jordan toni pip and Rodman all put there arms out a player had zero chance of scoring. They were all so long and could switch and defend anyone. That team was lethal on defense. Stars everywhere. And then the right amount of ahooters and big men to cllog the lane. Kerr would shoot 50% from 3 so it's hard to double down on Mike.

That would have been an excellent addition
ron harper is badass. he should of had more footage in the last dance. they would not have won without him. great vid! vote
Completely agree, the guy was a stud in the NBA and adapted so well....
Harper was pretty underrated in that Bulls dynasty, way overlooked.
Awesome
