Absolute favorite song. I love it so much that when I gave birth to my son in 1993 I played it on a continuous loop. After 12 hours of labor, everyone knew it well.
How good is this song?.... Can't stop listening to it, made a loop of it and play it all day long . Never get sick of it, wish I knew more about Dwight but hard to find information on him. Love him love his songs.
This is a sad song for me. I lived in NM and dated a girl that lived in TN. It was a 1000 miles between us. I remember kissing her good bye and the airport in Memphis and not seeing her again for 7 months. By then, the relationship had changed. It was over. I knew it was when I stepped on that MD88. So, I related to this song.
Country music like I remember it, not this modern day "tales of the poor working class as told by rich hollywood stars" business that seems to get so much air play. Bravo Dwight!
Thank you for posting this. It is my opinion that this is the best dance song ever recorded by anyone and it is my all-time favorite song of Dwight Yoakam. Wish the quality was better, but I love it just the same.
How good is this song? I made a loop of it and listen to it all day long. Never get sick of it. Wish I could find out more information on Dwight but can't find much on him. .love him love his songs
This was recorded back when he was still a young gun. The sound engineer would not turn up his monitor at all because he thought he was just another loud mouthed wanna be from Nashville. I guess Dwight had the last laugh!
what year was it?? I saw him @ the coarsegold inn, set 5ft. from stage ; the cheap seats,(tables) were 15ft. from stage. i was drinkin then- hmmmm '86 '87 ??
Dwight still does his concerts, nothing on the the charts in a while. Maybe because when he got his last CMA Award he pretty much told them all to kiss his ass. For real saw it do not rember what year in the late 90's it was
clicked this expecting "thousand miles from nowhere". got title says "!000 miles" figured it was same, abreviated. hmmmmm.... doesn't sound like same song to me. so are we to understand Dwight has a song called 1000 miles, AND one called "a 1000 miles from Nowhere? Lol! what's the deal Poster. fix your title here sir.
Dwight yoakam is the greatest country singer Iisten to him all day
Absolute favorite song. I love it so much that when I gave birth to my son in 1993 I played it on a continuous loop. After 12 hours of labor, everyone knew it well.

This badass tune never gets old!
Dwight is awesome!! I met him in Vail Colorado at a grocery store in the summer of 1987 around an hour after seeing his concert. He was cool as hell..

Some people are blessed with so much talent.....Dwight is one of them. He`s a better actor than a singer IMO, and he`s a great singer.
Love It.. Its my favorite of all Dwight Yoakams songs..
I'm 21 years young, raised on Dwight. Great too see someone took the time to actually film this. Love it.
Love this song I allways had it on my mind when I had to get on a plane and go back to Fort Knox KY
Rest in Peace Tom
Love this song. Understand he wrote it while delivering freight. Dwight has a knack for sad songs full of emotion. Love the man. Thanks for the video
