Was expecting a tough game from LSU and got one, I’m happy Eli and Chaundee balled out tho because I was getting nervous early in the game 😂

There were several times where it just felt like it was going to be LSU's night, but this team would just not be denied. The resiliency was off the charts.
This was the biggest win so far imo. After the struggles they've gone through all March they needed to know they could be a great team under the big lights. Huge confidence booster
yep, and if we hopefully get Livers back before the Sweet Sixteen game, we'll be set and maybe get to the final 4.

Look at the box score. Michigan 22 assist, LSU 8. This is one solid team, that plays the game right. Give LSU credit, they just did not have the horses in the barn to play with Michigan.

By horses in the barn I guess you mean the refs? Rewatch the game the only time Michigan went on their runs, the refs were calling bs fouls in their favor to slow the game down. They didn’t have the horsepower to run with LSU.

I totally agree. If it doesn't happen this year it will happen within the next 5 to 6 years. He is a phenomenal recruiter and he already has proven he can coach. I definitely see this team winning a championship in the Howard era.

@@jt5164 no question the guy got tired is what happened. And Michigan had chaundee brown and Wagner guarding him down the stretch. I think Wagner is at least 6’10. He was standing next to juwan during this game at one point and looked like he may have been slightly taller.

Michigan fan here. The refs were absolute trash for both teams, but I feel like the “right” team moved on. Massive respect to LSU, definitely were under seeded!
What you expect in March. Both teams really fought. Michigan just a deeper team and play better team basketball. LSU iso offense seems to be live or die. Michigan had key contributions from 7 players. LSU seemed 3 maybe 4 deep. Fun basketball though.
ISO ball is why they are an 8 seed. When it’s on it looks good (tonight) but more times than not it fails
I was getting frustrated that UM was letting Smart drive to the right, hitting those floaters over and over. They needed to push him to the left instead of giving him that lane.
Heck,.70% of their shots were contested difficult shots
Great game total shoot out by both teams. Michigan Wolverines played great team ball. LSU has great scorers. Both schools, students, alumni and fans should be proud. GO BLUE

This was great for my Wolverines. Down most of the game never lost the fight to win . Then locked down in the final 5 minutes this is what I like to see .
Man I was nervous when Howard originally got the job (to be fair he calmed my nerves after we won the battle 4 Atlantis tournament)

As a Michigan fan LSU is a helluva team! Congrats on your guys season. This Michigan team isn’t the flashiest but man they are winners. We need Franz to play like a potential lottery player if we want to make it deeper. He has the talent, he can be a matchup nightmare with his length and ability. GO BLUE!

The officiating in this game was horrendous. Bogus foul calls on Michigan a drive down the baseline by Michigan where Michigan stepped out of bounds but it was not called. Both teams played well and did not let it effect them.
Thats what I was thinking like at first I thought they were helping LSU. Then as the game went on I realized its both ways anytime a guy fell or there was contact there was a call

Thomas and smart the best players on the floor. My goodness! Some of those finishes by smart were insane. 😳
I think Thomas and Wagner are the most physically gifted. But Wagner is so maddeningly inconsistent. As you saw late in this game there are stretches where he can be nearly unstoppable because he is so long and can shoot. But there are other times you look at him and say who is that tall stiff that is afraid to drive or shoot? I mean chaundee brown got a lot of much deserved credit with his defense especially down the stretch but when brown was not on Thomas down the stretch Wagner was guarding him. In fact it looked like Wagner got a piece of Thomas shot on that late drive down the lane.
If Michigan protected the ball this would have been a blowout.

Michigan played great team basketball while LSU went ISO the entire game. It also explains why LSU's half court offense is so trash, because they rarely ever run set plays, all they do is really run ISO with either Thomas, Watford, or Smart. I suppose that's why team basketball always wins over individual play.
When you have the Caliber players they do, why not. 3 dudes that can score at will. It would be dumb not to let them go play loosely. That's LSUs game. Like it not. Maybe that's why they lost, but that's also what got them there.

In my humble opinion LSU will be one of, if not the best scoring/shooting teams Michigan will face in this tournament. A way harder game than Gonzaga and Baylor faced. Reeves is a one man show, Oklahoma has no other had no other aspects to their game. Baylors defense is great but I think Wisconsin would of lost to LSU especially the way they were playing... over 80 pts a game is just wow! Michigan deserves more credit for this win, on to the sweet sixteen!
If the team can match their coaches intensity in a controlled manner national champs.

He does not look athletic enough to keep up with the amazing athletes at that position and does not shoot well enough like a Duncan Robinson to offset any defensive deficiencies. he is only 6ft 7 230 which would make him Undersized for the power forward position.
