    As a kid my 7-15 year old friends living in West Allis, Wi (suburb of Milwaukee) couldn’t wait for Saturday nites in the summertime so we could all work our antennas trying to get in White Sox and Harry Caray followed by Luce wrestling. Whoever got it in the best with the least amount of snow played host to the rest of us. Best days of my life

    Something about wrestling back in the day how it was presented makes it come off like an actual sport.

    Love this look back at a great ( and often overlooked ) promotion . Subscribed! Hope we get to see the “ New York Dolls” Tag Team of the early 80’s soon. Thanks

      @@CheckmateFixit No here in Decatur we picked it up on channel 3 Champaign Illinois . And we did not get to see most of the main events . But at that time we were getting the guys from AWA and WWA coming at the same time for live matches . Saw many many greats back then . The glory days .

    I wonder if these matches were held at the old Tyndall Armory.

    • @diamonddanpwi
      @diamonddanpwi  3 роки тому

      It looks like. Some from Tyndall were shot from the top seating area looking down on the ring but that may of been when they had different a TV station. If not there it would be the Convention Center but the crowd would be bigger I think.

    Pretty sure that “Killer” Cortez was known as “Hercules” Cortez in AWA. If so this is the man I saw destroy 3 fans that tried to attack him as he made his way to ring in Milwaukee match in 70 or 71’ before he was killed in car crash driving with Red Bastien to Minneapolis from Winnipeg. I’ll never forget him fighting off a half dozen cops before they finally overwhelmed him and dragged him to jail
