Used to watch this wrestling every Saturday afternoon on my local wttv channel four Indianapolis tv station back in the 1970's and I have to say Sam Menacker was one of the best commentators ever ,it was much better than today's drama, but don't remember ever seeing Andre on there back then, but used to see him on the cover of wrestling magazines and would wonder man who the the heck is that guy?Never actually saw him wrestle until WWF in the 1980's but by then he was just about past his prime.
I far as I can figure the first match is around 1976, because the announcer said that Andre played Bigfoot in a TV show recently. He (Andre) play Bigfoot on The Six Million Dollar Man in 1976.
Andre portrayed Bigfoot in February 1976. There were 2 more episodes with Bigfoot later on. But, on those subsequent appearances in 1977 and 78. Ted Cassidy who portrayed "lurch" on the Addams family portrayed Bigfoot.

RIP DB, Andre, Sam, and Ox. Thanks to you, I became a fan of the greatest sport in the world. You guys made a lasting impression. PS RIP Bob Luce and Crusher.
No one ever mentions Pepper Gomez. The man with the cast iron stomach. Sailor Art Thomas, Spike Huber, The Valiant Bros, Moose Cholack.....great days indeed.
Not in Detroit . . . Bruiser and Sheik working together, and bringing in big names from other promotions for a few weeks at a time and sharing them, both areas saw all the best.
You could see how easy the brain went over the ropes,a great athlete, and the greatest manager.by the way the in ring announcer my father tom mathis.he worked at wife radio.and helped with the station wtlc.in indy.
I Remember Dick Coming in and Taking Over the Olympia Stadium here in Detroit back in the 60's and 70's and The Sheik had Big Time Wrestling at Cobo Arena MAN, They Had some WARS, Great Times!
I remember seeing OX Baker as a contestant on the price is right in the early 80's, Andre wrestled all over the place back than WWWF, Detroit for the Sheik, Los Angeles, NWA, etc
Always good to see one of the Grahams in action. Dr. Jerry Jr. is the son of Dr. Jerry. I am not sure if Crazy Luke ever wrestled for Bruiser and Wilber. And Butcher Vachon dominated the enhancement talent. He was feuding with Billy Two Rivers and Domenic DeNucci in Montreal also at this time.
Even though I'm older (38) now. There's still a little piece inside of me that wants to be a pro wrestler and have at least one match. That desire never went away completely.
Thank you for this we ordered WWA today on ebay my sister Charlotte orders them for me i give her the money cause she knows how to order them but their for me when they come back she brings them to me 😅
I know folks are nostalgic, but let's face it: Bruiser wrestled waaaay past his prime. He was fat, old, and immobile. And more than anyone else, he put himself over.
Bruiser owned WWA with Wilbur Snyder. WWF put all the regional wrestling promotions under. These guys were all friends for the most part outside of the ring. It was mostly about putting on a good show for the fans.
I watched all star championship wrestling every Saturday afternoon in the seventies on wttv4,broadcast out of Indianapolis in the central Indiana viewing area, but dont remember ever seeing Andre on there, but saw him the cover of wrestling magazines, and used to wonder, man whos that guy?
I remember WWA being the guys that sold the wrestling magazines in Milwaukee. That’s where the Sheik made everyone bleed. That’s where NWAs biggest names and most picturesque monster like characters would come and take a pencil and a fireball lol.
DeM B: To the best of my knowledge it's either the second or third AWA "Best Of The Seventies" tape on here that the older Paul Diamond makes a brief appearance on. The younger teamed with Pat Tanaka in Memphis and was Managed by Diamond Dallas Page to CWA Gold there.🤔🎤💎🎼🎸🤼♂️B.W.
Moose Cholak Chicago wrestling legend! He owned a family bar, and worked for the Chicago Streets and Sanitation. He’d wrestle in Indy, Chicago and St. Louis to make extra money. RIP!
This seems the equivalent to wwwf. I grew up in the northeast . The ones remember is Bruno Sammartino Pedro Morales Chief Jay Strongbow Sonny King the Grand Wizard etc.e Never Bruno wrestled for the WWA. Good program.
Bruno wrestled in the WWA in between his 2 WWWF title runs. At this point he had a lighter schedule. Bruno and Bruiser won the WWA tag titles, but lost them to the Valiant brothers.
I saw all these guys including Bruiser, all of them in St Louis at the Kiel Auditorium. And no….nope….Bruiser NEVER ever sold. It got tiresome really. I can’t “suspend my disbelief” that Bruiser is completely dominating Ernie Ladd 😂
Dick the Bruiser. The Greatest. He was almost everyone's favorite in and around Indianapolis
Definitely was mine!
Wow never new this was a territory there where some many of wish they would come back
Used to watch this wrestling every Saturday afternoon on my local wttv channel four Indianapolis tv station back in the 1970's and I have to say Sam Menacker was one of the best commentators ever ,it was much better than today's drama, but don't remember ever seeing Andre on there back then, but used to see him on the cover of wrestling magazines and would wonder man who the the heck is that guy?Never actually saw him wrestle until WWF in the 1980's but by then he was just about past his prime.
Sam Menacker was a commentator on World Championship Wrestling in Australia in the 60s.
OMG I can recall my dad watching these when I was just , well, a baby lol. hahaha he watched these with fried bologna ! I sure miss my dad.
Many nights as a kid i seen the Bruiser at the Tindall Armory. Great memories
So happy I got to see Bobby Heenan. He is one of the all time greats. He did a fantastic job as the ultimate Heel manager.
People don't realize how good he was in the WWA and AWA before he went to the WWF/WWE
Ox Baker could sell like no one could. The consummate heel, but in life a hell of a nice man.
Thank you so much for the rush of memories. Again, thank you.
Glad you are enjoying the videos! It's what I grew up watching myself.
I far as I can figure the first match is around 1976, because the announcer said that Andre played Bigfoot in a TV show recently. He (Andre) play Bigfoot on The Six Million Dollar Man in 1976.
I thought Andrew did Bigfoot about 1977 or 1978
Andre portrayed Bigfoot in February 1976. There were 2 more episodes with Bigfoot later on. But, on those subsequent appearances in 1977 and 78. Ted Cassidy who portrayed "lurch" on the Addams family portrayed Bigfoot.
Yes the announcer is Sam menagerie he also was a wrestler

RIP DB, Andre, Sam, and Ox. Thanks to you, I became a fan of the greatest sport in the world. You guys made a lasting impression. PS RIP Bob Luce and Crusher.
These were the stars when wrestling was relevant. Most of these guys could do promos adlib so much better than today's scripted punks.
Brought you by Ben's Auto Sales at 79th and South Western Avenue in Chicago
No one ever mentions Pepper Gomez. The man with the cast iron stomach. Sailor Art Thomas, Spike Huber, The Valiant Bros, Moose Cholack.....great days indeed.
Met Paul Christie as a young teen in the 70s. A boyhood idol of mine he was really nice man. He even bought me a hot dog and soft drink.
Holy cow, what an ensemble of legends.
Yes it was a great time for wrestling!
Wow, Diamond Dan! I used to call and listen to your wrestling news on the old InfoLine number when I was a kid. Thanks for posting these great videos.
Dick the Bruiser was a great wrestler and a great promoter
Love this. Thanks for sharing. A sometimes forgotten promotion, but one that had many influential stars.
Not in Detroit . . . Bruiser and Sheik working together, and bringing in big names from other promotions for a few weeks at a time and sharing them, both areas saw all the best.

Would love to see any old photos that your dad may of had from those days!
Love what's printed on Ernie Ladd's vest: "PROMISES PROMISES"
Wrestling was so much better back then. Then came a long the McMahon WWE and ruined it all.
so awsum to relive! thanx
I Remember Dick Coming in and Taking Over the Olympia Stadium here in Detroit back in the 60's and 70's and The Sheik had Big Time Wrestling at Cobo Arena MAN, They Had some WARS, Great Times!
Ox Baker was no small guy...... He was a menacing character often overlooked. Gotta love Sam.
he went 6-6 315
OUTSTANDING FOOTAGE !!!!!
Man, I knew most all of those guys. Great folks.
I remember seeing OX Baker as a contestant on the price is right in the early 80's, Andre wrestled all over the place back than WWWF, Detroit for the Sheik, Los Angeles, NWA, etc
Now, that's what I call some good 'ol Rasslin' right there!
I'll never forget Ox Baker showing up on The Price is Right
Bob Barker wasn't sure what to think...lol

How well did you know them ? Russian
Cool to see so much early Heenan
Thank you for this we ordered WWA today on ebay my sister Charlotte orders them for me i give her the money cause she knows how to order them but their for me when they come back she brings them to me 😅
Heenan got over 180 stitches from this match, back when rasslin was better, way better than today.
Big Ox Baker didn't look so big that night. But André made everyone look small.
Handicap Match . . . the Blackjacks had Heenan . . . 😄

Bruiser brought him in a few times. That was back when Andre could really move in the wrestling ring.
I remember WWA being the guys that sold the wrestling magazines in Milwaukee. That’s where the Sheik made everyone bleed. That’s where NWAs biggest names and most picturesque monster like characters would come and take a pencil and a fireball lol.
Would you have any Paul Diamond videos? Great upload thank you
Sorry but I do not.

I remember every Sunday morning watching dick the brusier I would have to turn the volume down and sit right in front of the TV good wrestling
oxbaker rules
It's always as time allows
That way if you wanted to see the whole match you had to buy a ticket and be there.

No Josip I don’t know what the date is on this obe
Andre makes big wrestlers look normal size
Moose Cholak Chicago wrestling legend! He owned a family bar, and worked for the Chicago Streets and Sanitation. He’d wrestle in Indy, Chicago and St. Louis to make extra money. RIP!
Moose was great! Wore an actual stuffed moose head into the ring.
Wrong! He worked for The City of Chicago Streets and Sanitation! His mother owned the bar!

Hmm, I've lived in Indianapolis my entire life. I'm a huge wrestling fan and have never heard of this promotion lol
This was the biggest promotion in Indiana. This promotion ended in 1989.
I'm sorry you never caught WWA's All-Star Championship Wrestling. It air led on WTTV for years
Went out of business roughly 1990 ish
Ox is a good seller!
When wrestling was wrestling 😎😣😏😆
Kayfabe was still king.
Do we have a date on this one?
The matches are from different years. Not sure on the exact dates
The first match was after 76 . He played bigfoot that year on The Six Million Dolllar Man .
This seems the equivalent to wwwf. I grew up in the northeast . The ones remember is Bruno Sammartino Pedro Morales Chief Jay Strongbow Sonny King the Grand Wizard etc.e

@@noahbody9747 Yeah was watching something with him and Dick The Bruiser.
Sweet
Andre got his arse kicked.
only Cholak’s was bigger ….
Did Bruiser or Crusher ever sell?
I mean, ever?
Ridiculous.
I saw all these guys including Bruiser, all of them in St Louis at the Kiel Auditorium. And no….nope….Bruiser NEVER ever sold. It got tiresome really. I can’t “suspend my disbelief” that Bruiser is completely dominating Ernie Ladd 😂
That said - Bruiser owned the promotion. Can do what he wanted. Same with Crusher 127 years old absolutely ZERO selling 😂
Spike Hubert wow . 1:19:00. . Sailor Art Thomas was one built man. 1:31:00

When was this? Early 70's?
Mid 70s
若い頃のアンドレスゲーな。スライディングレッグシザースやってるよ!
why wasn*t indianapolis wrestling in the memphis territory
Because Bruiser and Snyder owned WWA and Jarrett owned Memphis CWA/USWA
Poor Bruiser, he looked old even then. These damn promoters would work these men to death.
Bruiser was the promoter of the WWA.
@@diamonddanpwi I did not know that. With that said my concern is with this poor mans' safety.
Teal giants before Roufs
Was the ring anouncer Lance Russel ?
No it's not Lance. I'm drawing a blank right now on his name but he does look and sound like Lance a little bit
This kind of wrestling clowns are what gave wrestling a bad name.
snyder was a weak talker on the mic ..had no real skill when it came to that . just said whatever was inside his head but that was on the fly
Great technical wrestler though
