Wow, 16 years…I miss the old Hak5 and the hack house days. Who would have thought that Snubs would become the master? It has been great watching you go from a relative noob into Snubs the security guru!
I have a question for those in the know... the SMS scams, are those still being done mostly by groups working inside some random building in a telemarketing fashion, or it became more of a drive by SMS blaster strategy? If there even is some statistical data on this... could be both I guess. I get so many automated calls and so many SMS scams on my phone, which I had been managing to escape from up until early this year or so I think, that it seems some new strategy is involved.
There were several notable data breaches over the past year, so phone numbers are pretty easy to come by now (huge reason why I recommend deleteme sponsored or not). I theorize that the spam is due to a dragnet - hackers are spraying and praying someone clicks on a link.
After telling us to beware of scanning QR codes there is a QR code. Seems like a test.
Like those phishing tests at work. Hmmm.
So did you open it? Hehe 😂
@@ShannonMorse NO! You can't fool me...again.
