Jack Tripper Big Hutch, Battlecat, Jelly Roll, Soopafly, man..... the Westcoast got sooo sooo many dope ass producers that don’t always get the recognition they deserve!
Marvin Bennett now my vote is for Black Mafia life, however, I did just spend $30 for the Time Will Reveal CD cuz I heard it on UA-cam and I liked every song on it so I'm going to see if that will take my Black Mafia life spot.
I was admiring the writing on Michel’le’s first album and had to find out who L. Goodman was…. went down a internet rabbit hole until I found this interview. Big man got hella talent!
Cold187 opened up for sway !! He didn't wanna tell vlad shit you could tell he was uncomfortable. He talking to sway like they on the block !! I love it !!
I believe Hutch created that sound. However, Dre mastered it, and Daz added his twitch to it. Now Quik did not come with the same sound, his sound was different. I think Hutch musical ear came from his uncle.
The best Above The Law song ever was called Last Song featuring NWA on Living like a Hustler album one of the coldest songs ever in hip-hop check it how you doing the original black mafia.
Finally, Someone who was there tells the truth about Jerry Heller. Eazy-E eventually fired Jerry because he was skimming money of the top. Jerry Heller had some shady business practices.

Black Mafia Life is one of my all time favourite Hip Hop albums.ATL have always been under appreciated for what they did for the West coast hip hop sound.Cold 187 was one of,if not thee 1st producer to use that G Funk sound. He was using it before Dre used it on his ‘93 album ‘The Chronic’,I know that much. EDIT-I typed this before watching the upload obviously, because I could have saved my time as they pretty much jumped straight into that.About time though,it took long enough for Cold 187 to get that credited on a mainstream show like Sway in the morning but better late than never.

AWESOME INTERVIEW!!!!! Living Like Hustlers is as Classic as it gets...Back around 98 on a road trip from Dallas to Htown I stopped into a small local record store. It came down to buying either Mc Ren (Black panther) or ATL (Legends) cassette --- ATL won and it blew my mind (again)... If youve never listened to the entire LEGENDS CD... shame shame shame.... please do!
Does anyone feel that a new Above The Law can consist of :(1) Cold 187um/Big Hutch, (2) Kokane, (3) BG Knocc Out, (4) Dresta, and (5) Brotha Lynch Hung? Those five legends as Above The Law would be on point. R.I.P KMG.
Out of all the rappers I've listened to over the years and I'm 56 years old ice cube is the man that paved his own Lane and would like to hear his story about the rap game
I had no idea Cold 187um was Dre's Protégé, I always placed him on par with Dre in so far as having his own sound and what not. That really changed the game it comes full circle, keeping in mind Warren G learned from Cold 187um and Dre, Warren said so himself. It also explains the ATL connection with Snoop!
Very nice interview Sway! Loved it.. Been a really big Eazy E/Ruthless fan since I was a kid so it was a blast to watch this interview with ATL (KMG R.I.P.) Is there a chance you´re gonna interview Eazy´s kids one day? That would be cool IMO. Love the show, watch it as much as I can. :-) Much luv from Denmark.
Cold187um is the 2nd best producer on the West Coast right behind DJ Quik.I had at least three of they albums. But 187 said he stayed neutral during the Dre\Eazy beef but he was on Kokane's album dissing Dre on the song Dont Bite the Funk which clowned Dre and Snoop so i dont know why he said that
Seeing this for the first time I have a lot mix emotions . Tears of joy I live my life as they would growing up I had my mind set to think like Uncle Sam’s Curse I live by that Album

Coldddddddddd 1 eighty sevennnn, didn't ATL have somethin 2 do wit Kokane "Don't bite the Phunk"? That was a diss record. Looks like they came out n said it wasn't always good, but sometimes it's like he's saying they never had any probs..
Oh, I just love G-Funk. I could listen to it all day. Obviously Snoop and Warren G, but people forgot all about Foesum. They first album was knockin'. True blue G-Funk through and through. G-Funk had/has a feeling that'll never die out.
+LaCheleWallace I say it because there are no filler type songs. Each track is as good as the last. The Chronic does have more memorable songs but a couple songs on there are not as memorable at the entire product. 2001 is where I think Dre showed his ass off. Very few west coast albums are on that level. Another and better example of a perfect album in my eyes.
