ABOUT: 🔻
NINGEN ISU (which translates to "The Human Chair") is a Japanese three-piece hard rock band. In 1987, the band was formed by Shinji Wajima (Guitar & Vocals) and Kenichi Suzuki (Bass & Vocals), who were classmates in the same high school in Aomori Prefecture in the northern area of Japan.
INamahage -- A traditional folk event that takes place every mid-winter in Akita prefecture in Tohoku (North East) area of Japan. The frightfully masked men “Namahage” visit people's homes.
As a reminder, the translated English lyrics are available on the video if you hit your closed caption (cc) button. Ningen Isu translates as "The Human Chair", which is the title of a Japanese horror story from the 1920's. They often cite Black Sabbath as being their main influence. There are loads of parallels between the bands. Black Sabbath took their band name from the title of a 1960's Boris Karloff horror movie, called "Black Sabbath". The singer/songwriter/lead guitarist, Shinji Wagima plays the same guitar that Tony Iommi made famous, a Gibson SG. In fact, Shinji even has as a prized possession a personally autographed Tony Iommi Gibson SG! You can hear the influence in almost all of their songs. Shinji and the bass player, who are both now in their early 60's, have been friends since high school. It's my understanding that the bass player is also a big fan of Gene Simmons, the bass player for KISS, which is partially where the idea of makeup he wears comes from.

Your Dad's wrong too in the pronunciation of Ningen Isu. "Nin" as written, "gen" hard G, "Isu" (eesue)
