And this, my friends, is how it's done. The Cobra that I was flying in Vietnam that got shot down was brought back to our home base like this...patched up and was back on the flight line in a couple of days.
I saw that every day at Hotel One at Tan Son Nhut AB, Vietnam. Lived just across the street. Thank you for your service. My Kentucky HS friend was killed in his Cobra on 11/23/69. My birthday!
I recovered a crashed Blackhawk the was laying on the side of a mountain using this same technique. I even got to drag it a little before setting it down on a flatbed.
looks like training? looks like a 2nd blackhawk stripped down and minus its tail in the background waiting for the next crew to grab :) As an asside, Always found it ironic that the Chinook is always classified as a Cargo/Troop transport, yet it has to slow down to keep from out-running its 'attack' brothers (ie: the Apache and Cobras).
And ruin Brandon's deal with ISIS and the Taliban??? Why would he want us to do such a thing??? Im sure " The Big Guy" got his 10%. Thats what he's waiting for Zelenskyy to come up with, His 10% has to be paid in advance. The Ukrainians credit is a little dicey at the moment. Give it about about 3 weeks. He'll find the Billion $$$ from somewhere and Brandon will be all in. And so will our boots on the ground. Watch....
2- Blackhawk @ $5.9-10.6 M/ea. Plus crew time extraction, chinook copter extraction, investigation, and report. Minimum cost if no injuries and copters reparable $2,000,000. Thank you for your service. Please pay at the window.
Former Army pilot here, who also managed military budgets. The flying hours for all Army aircraft, including the CH-47 here, are already paid for...by your tax dollars...as a slice of what they receive from the DoD, more than a year in advance. This particular operation doesn't cost extra, because in peacetime almost all flying hours are part of training. Here the flight crew is getting real OJT, which they would have to perform at some time during their training year. Better this than sling loading 55 gallon drums full of concrete.
Blackhawks crash, that's what Blackhawks do! Go and look at their history, worst helicopter ever. The old Huey was over a thousand percent more reliable. The Blackhawk is the only thing less reliable than the shithook
4:29 - "should hear those diesels kick in"
right pal..... diesels!!!
Typically California's running at the mouth like they know what the hell there talking about. The whole state is nothing but a liberal Dumpster Fire.
Maybe he was referring to those diesel snowmobiles?
Great video. I'm glad no one was injured. Utah doesn't need a second Mountain Meadows Massacre.
damn mormons thinkin they own the place
One of the spectators thinks the chopper has a diesel in it. :)
The commentary does get kind of old… just watch and record….
That's weird, we put Jet A in our DIESEL tug.......almost like they are interchangeable.....
they weren't steam?
I heard it also….what can you say?
@Joe Biden Official hey doofus, when he said diesels, he was referring to the engine type…not the fuel type.
Another Wow for the incredibly capable Chinook!
You mean shithook..

@@Suncast45 Sorry for your loss. I might have known him.
@@DragonPilot Capt. Robert Clements, Paducah, Ky.
@@Suncast45 I did not know him, but he was still a brother in arms. RIP. I was just up the road from you…Bien Hoa Air Base Aug 68-69.
What model cobra where you flying?
I recovered an HH60 once using a Hook. The Hawk was in three pieces, so multiple lifts were done.
What diesels was the observer talking about?
the stability, that is a measure of quality.

Incredible how long they can hover in one spot
I mean... its what they were built to do.
@@RIPPEDDRAGON40k are you just trolling the comment section looking to put your little two bits in!?
Crazy, I've actually filmed that blackhawk a little over a month and a half ago picking up and dropping off skiiers with another civi heli.
There is a monster in the valley.

Those 2 hawks actually had a collision on a dve landing. You can find the video on UA-cam.
minor incident....12million worth of uh60 in pieces on a mountain, but a minor incident :D
A "minor incident" that disables you aircraft is like "minor surgery". Minor only when it happens to someone else.
No dustup amazing
We got two Blackhawks down, we got two Blackhawks down……
The comments of the bystanders are hilarious and uninformed.
It would be more impressive if they retrieved the abandoned helicopters in Afghanastan

Yeah..right?

2 sets of rotors, twice the lift..heavy lift. mountain meadows was a massacre.
Don't do that again please.
Such an intelligent crowd. 🤡
Yeah big surprice they are not all aviation experts like here on UA-cam! /s
A już myślałem że filmik obejmie też zachód słońca...
Are they takin' it to the local Pep Boys ?? :)
