- There are no arriving or departing flights out of La Palma, Spain, after a volcano on the Spanish island erupted. Although hundreds of buildings have been destroyed, social media has been so taken by the one that was not scorched, they’ve given it a nickname. Meanwhile, the people who call La Palma home have barely been allowed back to collect their belongings. Inside Edition Digital’s Stephanie Officer explains. #InsideEdition

It doesn't matter, they won't be able to access it for a very long time. I think this is even more devastating than fire or flood since after those you can rebuild. In this case all the land that has been touched by lava will be inhabitable for decades if not centuries.

I can’t help to feel bad for any animals that couldn’t be evacuated…
The flow is incredibly slow, so they'll see it coming.
I saw a video of a local woman who said that they were forced to evacuate within 15 minutes, and she was forced to leave her dog behind. I'm sure there were others like that. Another news station said that many farm animals were unable to be evacuated. In this specific video, they were referring to many goats who were unable to be rescued. It's heartbreaking, really. I could never leave without my dogs.
