- The M-Audio Oxygen Pro Mini makes a great controller when connected to a computer to record music or control a DAW, but what about controller a source other than the computer? What about controlling an external keyboard or synth with the Oxygen Pro Mini?
In this video I walk step by step through the process from connecting the Oxygen Pro Mini controller to the external source, to programing the knobs and sliders to control parameters in the external keyboard!

Thanks for watching and comment below with any questions you have and I will answer them as soon as I can!
Definitely needed this video!!!! About time someone mentioned the hardware side of the controller
Excellent explanation! I can not wait to open the box...
Awesome! Thank you for your videos!
Lol you just randomly played the intro from The guilty party by While She Sleeps😂😂😂
...MIDI adapter for this controller is Type A...
Just a note on that midi adapter, they come in "A" and "B" variants and I have even heard of another variant that is non-standard, meaning their pin outs are not correct for some applications. If you search the internet there should be some pin out maps available so you could make your own or modify one that is incorrect for your unit.
How does it works in dual mode with Hammon b3x (IkMultimedia)? what's the correct setup? Thanks in advance!
I’m really excited for this feature on the Oxygen pro mini! And I wonder (sorry for my ignorance) what we use this for? instead of just controlling directly from your synth? / what is the posible use for the feature? (All I think is for synthesizer without and actual keyboard)
Thanks for the video. How to control the volume of M audio oxygen in this situation?
This video doesn't cover software side of setup 😢
Hello how can assign a fader to control the volume?
Can you select a midi Channel on this midi controller to control a program on a keyboard such as Korg Kronos so it only controls a selected channel in a combination?
Thanks your video is very helpful, because there is not much about external hardware setup's, how would you manage to setup when connecting to a midi-splitter (as output is M-Audio Pro 61) which connects to 3 midi-in's?, hope it's clear my question. It's possible?
How do you change the MIDI channel? M-audio has removed their manuals from the web site.
MIDI Implementation can be downloaded on the website
That’s great, I didn’t realize that was there! Thanks for the tip! For those looking for the Uno Synth Pro midi message mapping, here it is: download.ikmultimedia.com/plugins/Manuals/UNOSynthPro/UNO_Synth_Pro_MIDI_Chart.pdf
would the oxygen pro mini's pitch and mod wheels work on digital pianos since they don't have a pitch and mod wheel if it has midi connection
Hi Douglas! Hv a Yamaha Clavinova CVP 405 digital piano, ie connectable via MIDI. So, when I goggled the MIDI mapping for this keyboard, I was given a Data listing of voices (Grand Piano) with corresponding voice numbers (MSB0, LSB122, PRG1 in this case). How do you associate this with the CC msgs? Many thanks to you, I've buying the Oxygen Pro Mini-32 - coming my way in March 2022.
Can you record the external synth sound into a daw with this setup?
💯💯💯
What features of the Oxygen Mini would you say are limited when using a monophonic synth rather than a polyphonic one? Asking cause I have a Pioneer Toraiz AS1 thanks in advance!!
Can this controller compatible to fl mobile?
Can I use Oxygen Mini to control Korg Kaossilator Pro vía MiDi? Or need a special MiDi cable programable like Retrokits
Kaossilator Pro is notoriously difficult to control with MIDI. In theory, it's supposed to be possible, but I know people who've had a lot of trouble with it.
I have an adapter for 5 pin midi but it does nothing
is there a way to know what type of adapter (A or B) this keyboard needs?
nevermind the manual specs for type A ,I'll just try and get another adapter
can i use both USB & 3.5mmMIDI output at the same time?
USB for computer sound 3.5mm for vocal processor
Yes, I believe that would work fine.
@@DSoundman thank you so much!!
Come on man you never even said whether it was a male or female on the 8th inch adapter
