      @@JustinMacri007 For the same reason as why (apparently, some) people still have real cameras. It's a difference that not only lies in the quality of the pictures, which do have arguably more charme than your average Smartphone pics, but also in the feeling you get when taking them. Trust me, it can be worth it.

    A quick note: at least according to my experimentation, the Polaroid Go does measure light and range at the end of the self-timer, so you're actually clear to start it from the front. The Now is the only Polaroid camera that has this bug where you need to be behind it to shoot with the self timer, and the critical moment is when you half-press the shutter button (which, with the self timer, is almost certainly right before you fully press it).
    If you'd like to put the camera against a wall and have no space behind, you can just hold it to the side, getting out of the way of the range sensor, press the button, then set the camera down and run into position as you have undoubtedly wasted valuable seconds with positioning it just fine. The point is to let your camera see the subject in the moment you press the shutter. That is, unless it's a Go, an earlier i-Type (OneStep 2/OneStep+), or a vintage camera, with those you can just press the button and the camera will know exactly what to do.
    Fun fact: the Polaroid Go does seem to do another range and light measurement in the beginning of the self-timer as well, but that one has no apparent effect on the image. I wonder if it's just leftover code from the Now's firmware.

    I think there are two things you need to know to make the Go work best. First, and kind of sadly, the flash just isn't that great unless it's SUPER dark and you are close. Most of the time you just shouldn't use it as it's not powerful enough. The second AND MOST important is to remember this is a FIXED FOCUS lens. That is good because as long as you are 1.5ft away things will be relatively in focus, but that half-press you've been doing to "get focus"...don't worry about it. USE THE HALF-PRESS TO LOCK IN EXPOSURE! Now, this is a little more advanced photography, but with the limited dynamic range of Polaroid, getting the exposure right is key. Using the half-press and knowing what parts you want to expose will open up the quality of the Go and you'll be much happier with it.

    Got this little camera for my kiddo who’s super into photography. I’m pretty well rehearsed in photography, but he kept struggling for his film to develop properly. I was certain he just kept getting too impatient and didn’t let his pictures process long enough before peeking at them. I’m still not sure if the flash is just crummy with this camera. He’s burned through nearly half a pack of film even after I’ve helped him and he’s just trying to get the hang of it. Unfortunately, it’s been a tad frustrating for him, but he did much better using his camera outdoors when the flash wasn’t necessary.

    I really liked your video, they gave me a GO for Christmas but I've never had one before (I'm talking about Polaroid), if I can I ask you some questions:
    1)you said that you have to keep the refill (with the films inside) unopened in a refrigerated place, so it's okay in the fridge?
    When I'm done using it (the GO) do I have to remove the refill and put it back in the fridge or keep it in the GO until I run out of films inside?
    2)When I install the "recharge" in the GO and take a couple of photos, is it recommended to finish the films or can I turn off the GO and finish the films later (a few days for example)?
    3)Once I take the photo, you said I have to keep it face down for 15 minutes, but if I'm around where can I keep it?
    Thank you in advance if you can help me for a
    correct use🙏🏼

    • @onava15
      @onava15 Рік тому

      You want to keep unopened packs stored in the fridge, and let it warm to room temperature before putting it into your camera. Once installed, you don’t want to remove the camera pack because you risk exposing your unused pics to light, which will affect your future photos. And if you’re out and about, you can put your developing photo in your purse or pocket! If you’re in cold weather, keep it warm by placing it in pocket to warm and develop- the temperature will change how the photo looks in the end

    my boyfriend got me this camera for Christmas and I've taken around 10 pictures with it and only 2 of them actually developed well. I made sure to put the pics in a dark place after I took them as well... Most of the pictures came out just dark or dark with brown splotches and it was just really disappointing and not worth the money at all. And it says on the box that the battery life only lasts up to 15 film packs which is so stupid since he paid like 120 pound for it .

    • @mau-sal
      @mau-sal Місяць тому

      I actually started to notice this with mine as well. It’s not all of the pictures but some of them turn out pretty dark despite the actual environment being well-lit. I think the issue is most likely where & how you store your film
