The dub for this episode is funny to me, Horis little brother says "All I want for Christmas is you bro!" When they find out Miyamura can't come over for Christmas 🤣🤣 Gets me Everytime
The "younger sister" is actually her brother's future Childhood Friend Romance Interest. It's explained much better in the manga. Also, in the chapter Ten Years Later (I think it's called) she's the FMC. There's also a chapter about Hori's parents called Twenty Years Earlier or something like that.

Oh and also, in Japan there is a really weird taboo of showing affection in public spaces unless it's some extreme case of uninhibited passion, so don't expect outdoor kisses or stuff like that! Some even frown upon public hand holding! Really weird but that's how it is xD

@@tzimiable It really depends, times are changing. last year, my sister and I traveled to Tokyo and mostly Yokohama and we saw many (Japanese) couples hugging and holding hands in public and specially at night. I think it's more like an older generation thing. Kissing is something I've never seen tho, but I don't kiss in public eighter so I'm honestly ok with it.

Forget triangles, there's like 5 people who all had crushes on Hori-san, and one of them wasn't even a guy. It's not even a maze, it's just a love mess.
@@ohheylads We're up to like 4 or 5 named characters who had a crush on Hori-san, not to mention an indefinite number of unnamed crushes that got rejected before the show even started.

The girl with red hair is yuna. She’s really only in the manga and is given a lot more story there. Also shindos gf is referenced a lot more in the manga

About the marriage proposal, it's kinda normal in Japan for ppl to marry right after Highschool, they marry really youg. And about kissing, they consider kissing in public places, streats etc, really impolite, even if it's empty, so they avoid it.
The anime is more like a highlight reel of the manga. They skip over a lot of stuff so if you want to see the full story just read the manga it's really good and it's complete. 👍 love this series ❤

Remember how in a spider landed on remi's shoulder and she pretended to be scared so that sengoku would get rid of it? The girl is not hori's younger sister. She is a character that was mostly cut from the show (she appears for the first time in chapter 2 i think). She is Souta's childhood friend who he went to kindergarten with and now goes to school with.
Spoilers for some of the last chapters of the manga:
in a flash forward it's revealed that they even go to high school together and that she has a crush on souta but she thinks he like's someone else. Turns out the person he liked was her all along
If i remembers correctly, The little girl in Hori's household was Yuna, she goes the same school as Souta
they become love intrest/eventually couple next generation later in the manga, but never shown in the Anime
A thought I just had: I hope Alana reacts to "A Place Further than the Universe" some day - I think she would definitely love it.

The young red hair girl is Sota's friend. There is a time skip in the end of the manga that shows them older (high school) and shows the marriage.
btw toru and yoshikawa were mentioned later in the manga that they started dateing
and also marriage in japan for men starts at the age of 18 and women at the age of 16
I think Sengoku is still traumatized from the time Miya headbutted him lol

The whole manga series is totally can fill 24 episodes or more. Horimiya anime is just awesome 9/10, but if only they made it 24+ episodes... It'll be PERFECT 10/10
The marriage thing feels sudden in the anime because it skips a lot of chapters in the manga. If I'm not wrong, around chapter 25 or so maps to the introduction of the dad and the confession, chapter 45 is around when they have sex and the marriage one is chapter 75 or something. And there's years of waiting between these manga chapters

Yuna-chan is friend of his brother Sota hahah, in the anime they never said a thing about her
Imagine if one of them died jesus right after the proposal truck kun strikes.
Most romance anime end with a confession of love and/or first kiss. Not Horimiya. We got a confession of love super early. They started banging by the end of episode 7, and he proposes with an entire episode still to go. Horimiya has more actual relationship progression than most shows ever dream of.
Yeh, some of other animes that i think about is:
Tonikaku kawai : they freaking got married on freking first day.
And kaguya sama : though anime hasn't reached it, but they even did divine deed, bro thats some progress right there.
Tonikaku Kawai; yeah, they're married, but they hardly know each other. Great show, but it just puts the cart before the horse on the relationship.
Kaguya Sama; the only reason that feels like major progress is that they spend so much time making absolutely zero progress at all.
Can’t believe we’re at the end already! What’s next on the agenda? If you want some recommendations, you should give Darling in the Franxx a watch if you haven’t checked it out, good watch imo. Either way I’m looking forward to the next series

Sadly, the anime cut a lot of content from the manga that was good to character development so this episode feels rushed.
Also my other critique that for a series that implies (a little more than that 😁) that they have intimacy, they never show them kissing. A little odd.
