It is not common for children to disappear in Portugal...
The McCann case is a true mistery, however I find it rather odd that her parents were never prosecuted for abandoning her and her twin siblings (two crimes of abandonment for the twins and omissive kidnap of Madeleine). But guess that being friends with the British Prime-Minister is, indeed, beneficial. Plus, REACT should have pointed that her parents were indeed, for some time, suspects of negligently killing her and then orchestrating her disappearance to get away.
What was their motive?

@@skydragonslayer9820 Yes, only Madelein disappeared. Her twin brothers were still in the room, asleep, while their parents and friends had a fun night a few meters away. Netflix has a good documentary series about her. It is mildly impartial, but it goes more on the parents version. Gonçalo Amaral, the inspector from the Judiciary Police responsible by the case at the time believed that the parents were to blame, he was ousted from office some time after. Amaral's view is pretty much regarded as the "right" one in a high number of Portuguese people, and a few Brits as well.
Nonetheless, Portuguese Law would allow Prosecutors to indict the parents with *at least* three crimes of abandonment/exposure to danger for the three kids (Article 138 of the Portuguese Criminal Code). Portuguese people widely sees their friendship with Tony Blair and Gordon Brown as a way of getting away with that.

In the UK the Madeline McCann case is a huge topic. Because Millions has been spent in the search yet other similar stories get no money or press. It all boils down to the fact the McCanns are doctors and therefore are high class people. They should have been charged with child neglect and endangering the lives of children.
When I was in the Navy, I was a sonar technician stationed on board a submarine. One day, as I was on watch, my equipment started going glitchy. I told my sonar supervisor who casually informed me that we were in the Bermuda triangle. He said I might as well take my headphones off until we passed through because any information I got from my display would be unreliable. I was so relieved when my CRT finally came back on line.
I've heard a lot of stories like that. Could it be something magnetic in the triangle you think?
@@ryananderson3536 That's definitely a possibility, especially considering that on the opposite side of the world is the Dragon's Triangle, which is Japan's version of the Bermuda Triangle. The history of that is just as fascinating. It was directly responsible for aiding Japan against invading navy forces in multiple battles. A "divine wind" came to destroy the enemy ships. This divine wind is what the Japanese used as a tactic in other battles, as "kamikaze" is a literal translation.
If that's the case, maybe... Just like there is magnetic north and magnetic south... There is magnetic east and magnetic west.

I'm from Portugal and the thing is.. we're the 4th most peaceful country in the world, kidnapping here is SUPER rare, if a child goes missing 99% of the times they're found within the first 24h or a few days, and if it's criminal usually it's between family so the investigation is quite quick finding the guilty ones bc it's in the child's circle and they'll be quick finding the body too. That's what makes this case so weird.. many people here think the parents are involved in her disappearing, there's no way that in Portugal she wouldn't be found or her body. Unless they ever speak the truth, I don't think this case will ever be solved.

@@erinbarker166 yeah, there are many theories here too like they drugged the kids to keep them asleep and exaggerated on Madeleine's dose and made up the whole kidnapping story to protect themselves from losing the other child bc they know they were irresponsible and committed neglect, that the dad is involved, that maybe they did human traffic and sold her.. so many theories but no answers.. but yeah I think the parents are involved.. the whole media attention.. their body language.. everything is just so weird

The Madeleine one is worse then what is portrayed. For years the police main theory is that the parents dosed their children to make them sleep so they could go out and that they probably overdosed her. Then disposed of the body. It is an awful story either way. Poor little girl.
Oh god yeah! There was so much speculation around them especially after the police dogs found her scent in the rental car the McCanns hired THE DAY AFTER Madeline went missing.

whenever i read about the Madeleine McCann case i always think about her eye. i don't know if this makes sense but it always makes me think deeper into her disappearance like what if she is still alive living a new life. Her eye is one think that could make it a little easier to find her.

I used to suspect Madeleine McCann's parents cause tbh they were suspicious af and let's not start on their creepy book on their kid being missing but from recent news authorities suspect that the criminal responsible is a german s* offender living and working nearby at the time. It's sadly unlikely that Madeleine is alive. I hope the case gets solved as soon as possible :'(

Its weird to see the cast not knowing much about madeline. Im british and we had to do a drama piece on her so i know a lot of the facts and theories ans it is very suspicious. I think the parents had something to do with it because kate (the mom) was asked 40 something questions and said no comment to all but some were pretty basic and wouldnt u answer the questions so you can get more info on your missing daughter?

We flew over the Bermuda triangle when i was a kid going to see our family in Puerto Rico. And the plane just started to drop and drop the lights when out. Which felt like forever, and everyone was panicking. But the pilot got our plane back up. I've always wondered if the Captain just had a weird sense of humor and thought I'm going to mess with these people haha.
It's probably because of an air pocket, which causes the aircraft to drop until your out of the air pocket

For some reason the topic of Madeleine's disappearance always makes me feel very weird, almost like panic as if I was in the situation myself. This case has touched me in a weird way ever since it happened.

The theory that she was drugged so her parenrs could go party and overdosed... And then the parents created this whole spectacle to cover it up. It's telling that the Portuguese inspector assigned to the case had his life utterly *destroyed* by the the McCanns and the Bristish Government because he had very good leads on this.

i don't think so.... this video doesn't explain even half of the case, im Portuguese so i remember all the evidence that was found.... the portuguese police officer found so much evidence, and he was pointing the parents as the ones who did it, but they r rich AF so... they made sure the police officer was fired..... Madeline's blood was found on the bedroom and on the truck of the car they rented.. so yeah

The Bermuda triangle just messes with electrical fields, which messes with navigation and if you have a compass it doesn't work very well. There's nothing alien about that area, it's a natural phenomenon that we cannot control or change. All you can do is be prepared as best as you can in the situations. Not to mention the oceans can be very unpredictable.
I remember seeing the news when Madeleine McCann disappeared, I was 16 when that happened
I know we're not supposed to blame parents, but as a parent I would NEVER leave a young child alone like that. There were no adults in that condo (or whatever type of room they were staying in) and it would be VERY easy for someone who worked at the resort to realize those girls were alone and unprotected. Honestly it's probably better that she's passed away than the alternative. Also, the Zodiac killer is by now dead, thankfully. I wonder if they'll ever find out his identity through familial DNA? Also the whole Bermuda triangle thing is so overblown. With the advent of technology we can now find planes that crash in that area. All the reported cases happened when that was not possible.
I grew up with the Maddie case. It was everywhere on UK TV. People think the parents did it, people blame the parents because they should've been with their kids when they slept. It's just a difficult case, but there has been a new suspect tho but this is such a difficult thing
It turns out that the voice on the phone wasn't him. He send a letter about it in code and that letter just got cracked in 2020 saying it wasn't him.

I have a theory on the Bermuda triangle. I think there is some giant magnetic pull in that area causes ships to take it there ya know?
Bermuda Triangle is a combination of things, there are magnetic anomalies that you have to be aware of or you will go massively off course. The weather is unpredictable, and then there are the methane pockets that release fairly regularly there. Now having had issues on a flight through that area with things happening that could not be explained by any science we have I believe there is more to it than just those issues.

Turns out, that the man calling the tv station, wasn't the Zodiac. One of the letters was recently decrypted and it said that it wasn't him on television.

I’ve had my suspicions about the parents but it could have just been them being complete morons. Every night they had the routine of putting the kids to bed and going out to dinner, along with someone going to check on the children every 20(?) minutes. Someone could have easily been watching, caught onto the routine and snatched Madeleine.

I know a similar story to the Madeline McCann case. my best friends dad's sister disappeared out of a hotel room in my small town when she was 4 in the early 70s. the window was wide open as well and she's never been found

I thought it was so cool that they made a movie about the legend of her that I got caught up in the whole, did she survive thing because bodies were still missing. As of 2007, the entire family has been identified and, unfortunately, proved nobody escaped. It was just soooo cool to think "what if...." until they were found though

I went to the Bahamas with family and off the coast of one of the islands is the Bermuda triangle. I've been there. There are volcanoes around that area. A lot of typhoons, etc. If you talk to some of the tour guides, the ocean is deep. The technology back then wasn't as advanced.
The Madeleine McCan case, few months ago german police have a suspect that was in that area where they stayed at the time. He also was accused of molesting a little girl or two before this case.

@@snailgirl5495 listen I'm from Portugal the parents 100% had to be charged with neglect on this, they left 3 under 7 years old children alone at an unlocked hotel room while they got drunk and the place they were at had a place where you could leave the children at if you wanted to go out just so you wouldn't leave them alone, also there is 0 proof they ever really went to check on the kids and that's just the tip of this iceberg.
