  • review.chicagobooth.edu | Technology is providing an ever-expanding menu of options for communicating with coworkers. Yet in spite-or perhaps because-of those tools, many companies suffer from cultures of poor communication. Hal Weitzman sits down with Chicago Booth faculty Ayelet Fishbach, Nicholas Epley, and Heather M. Caruso to find out what causes miscommunication inside and outside the office, and what we can do to fix it.

you can paint a picture inspired by your thoughts and feelings, but the person who see's it does not know why. They only see what they see and feel what they feel; until the artist tells them why they painted it. A man sitting on a stool in the corner of a room surrounded by walls and dim light may look depressing to some, but comfortable to others. But why did he draw/paint that? Only he knows why. If every painting came with an explanation there would be no questions... face to face gives us meaning behind what others think and feel. Email is the painting as face to face is the knowing why. Does that make sense? It kinda just flooded my mind and through my fingers.

It also depends to your appearance as well, if you are a good looking man/woman, people like to talk to you. If you look miserable, people are reluctant to listen or talk to you.

This is the reason my EMPLOYER Fired ME cause I lock an effective communication while trying hard and best to talk to a person which wants me to think in his level or own understanding. And when I tried to explain what I mean, he tells me always that he doesn't need that explanation cause he knew it already. But for me , he didn't even understand how the things work which leads us to misunderstanding. This person even criticize later accusing idiocrasy of that thing that had been made by group of experts. I had talk with the management what's the best way to made us communicate effectively, they didn't even give suggested solution to help but just rely on how do I solve the issues. Until lots of changes in demands and more then fired me just because of ineffective communication.
