Looks like the chain could use some sharpening

Can always be sharper! Check out some of my more recent videos to see a sharper chain. Thanks for watching!

Glad it works well! Bought one too. What kind of oil goes in the oil tank? It says pure engine oil but I would think since the fuel tank needs the gas+oil mix that this oil tank would be for bar and chain oil.

That’s what I do. Synthetic 2 strike oil and then whatever I’m using for bar and chain oil. Usually old engine oil I’ve saved. Enjoy!

I just picked one of these up a couple weeks ago for almost free, in exchange for a review. Listed price was $129 at the time. I hadn't quite gotten around to assembling, testing, or reviewing it yet and the Amazon listing is already gone and can't find any other listings for Gthan. I'm wondering if I got one of the last ones they will offer. Now I'm just trying to decide if it's worth keeping or if I should just resell as new in box. Thank you for the review it seems to do good. Also, thanks for testing that kickback brake for me, lol. Do you have any updates on how it's been doing? I already have a pretty good running, lightly used Poulan 3600 Timbermaster circa 1992 with a rebuilt fuel system that is actually 60cc (3.7cui). One of them is going to have to go I think, trying to decide which one.

Still going strong! Make sure you keep the chain sharp and I’ve continued to be impressed for the price. I’ve probably got 20+ hours on it. Strange they’re off Amazon, I see a few are still out on eBay. Let me know if you have any other question.

It's most likely 54.5cc actually. I think I know where to get the 62cc cylinder but we will see what arrives.

I run a few of these saws some the earlier ones have problems with oil pumps not in all a a good saw I think you could do with a bit more edge on your chain just my thoughts

Yes it was oddly dull for brand new here. Much sharper now & still going strong! Thanks for watching!

You can also get a nice side chain tensioner as well. Search for 25.4cc chainsaw tensioner with minor mods it will fit this saw.

What oil do you use for gas mixtures?

    • @SundownFarms2024

Standard 2 stroke mix. If you have the $$ go synthetic and I usually run ethanol free fuel, if you can find it. It’s all over NC.

are you happy with this chainsaw , I have been looking for a cheap chainsaw to cut a tree that is down & it measures about 2 feet across . & there is so many on Amazon with mixed reviews , & all of these 62 cc engines , seem to be actually 58 cc from what the people said after they checked the engines out . the tree I want to cut up into cookies is over 50 feet long , so I'm wondering how many chains I may need also

Thanks for watching- I’m very happy with it. I also had the Wemars that’s on Amazon for a similar price and that burned up fairly quickly. This one is still going strong despite some heavy abuse. Keep the chain sharp and the oil:gas mixture true and you should be good. I’m still on my first chain after about 8 hours of steady use, but typically sharpen it before I use it everytime. I do have a spare I got cheap on Amazon just in case.

@@markp1512for the price you can’t go wrong with any of them. I can’t recommend the wemars as that got the same treatment as the GTHAN and died in about an hour.

A lot of these knock off chain saws, are not as big of motors as they claim to be, we measure the bore and stroke on one saw, claiming to be a 62 cc, are math show it to be a 42 cc
