Awesome bag!! Thank You for sharing!! Them leather sewing machines are just way to go!! I enjoy working with heavy veg natural tan, some tanned.. I hand stitch everything.. would be a blessing to have an sewing machine, for so many other products!! Great vid!! I'm actually planning on making one of these for my Mother's B-day, coming up.. I've got a side of water Buffalo.. like Crazy Horse, I believe.. gonna incorporate a natural veg tan bottom and for handles.. praying mine turns out somewhere nice as yours!! Lol. Have feeling it won't, but gonna try!! Thanks again for tutorial.. I usually refuse to watch vids, where the crafter does not speak!! We miss out so much info and learning, when nothing being said.... just music.. but, I turned sound off, and truly enjoyed watching you craft!! Lol. Have a Blessed day!!
awsome bag and work! Me and my husband had a great time watching your videos and we are inspired to make our own leather bags soon. God bless you more!
Very inspiring to watch your GOD GIVEN Talent! I’m just entering the leather world and look forward to learning as much as I can from videos like yours. Just purchased 2 machines Juki LU 1508 N Techsew 4800 Pro Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
I was out of town couple of weeks ago. I went into a leather shop and picked up two different color hides for exactly your tote! I love it. Please offer a pattern?!? Love... beautiful, classy.
@LeJean_Dennis Hello 👋 I'm wondering if he offered you a pattern? I would love to have the pattern, but he replied he didn't have it on hand. I also bought leather for this project, thinking there would be a pattern. It's a beautiful tote. He does beautiful work.
@@judithcouture3018 Hi, no pattern available. I wish there was, I am holding on to my leather until I find one similar to this one, if I cannot get one for this one. Hoping they may consider making one for this, just LOVE it so much! Take care & have a great day 😊
Please tell me what machine are you using for actually sewing the bag together? The bag is gorgeous. I love leather. The sewing machine I own is not strong enough to sew leather. I need some advice from those who actually sew with leather. I appreciate your help.
Gorgeous bag, great work, you spent all that time on a beautiful lining, yet leave your edgea rough and unfinished , I am just wondering why not take another 10-15 minutes and burnish and dye your edges?
I have watched you make this bag several times now. I love it and would really like to give it a shot. I'm not very good at making a pattern and I know you don't sell/share your measurements. How do you decide the width and depth of the cutouts in the bottom? Is there a specific formula? Thank you for your inspiring work.
Beautiful work! You make it look easy! I dont know if you answer questions but at the 4:09 point I noticed you hand skived (thinned) the corners , but if I am seeing correctly, didnt bell skive the edges where you sewed your seams. Does this present a problem when you turn the bag rightside out ( make the stitches pull) or is the leather you are using quite supple or thin? I appreciate that you hand stitched the corners on the box bottom. Very nice work. Thankyou!
May I ask a question about the liner size? Is it as big as the bag, or is it slightly smaller? If smaller, only by the thickness of the leather or how do you calculate it? This was very nice to see, excellent bag, very good job. Thank you for sharing 🙂
Thank you. I actually made it the same size as the bag but it really should be smaller. My liner, once it was inside the bag was a bit wrinkly. If I do it again I would try to make the liner smaller. Not sure how much smaller though.
@@KingdomGloryLeather thanks awesome, you do amazing work for a hobbyist! I can’t afford to only do it as a hobby 😂 Anytime I make something for myself or someone I know it’s definitely with some more economical leathers 🤷♂️ Also, keep preaching the gospel, brother! Your skilled work is a testament to your love for the Lord.
Hi Mr. KGL, do you always use the same glue? If so can you say what it is? If not when do you use what you use and why, if you don’t mind? Beautiful bag and smart looking video production and editing. Tks!
I use EcoWeld contact cement. It is water based so there is no harsh vapors. It works well for most projects that I make. If you were to make projects that would tend to get wet like sheaths or horse tack I would use a non-water based contact cement like Barge. Those non-water based adhesives just have a stronger order when applying so I would apply them outside or in a well vented area.
I understand! I am also a Leather Crafter, I am not trying to be nosey. I admire your Christian based attitude...1st time seeing that so I felt compelled to reach out to you. Keep up the good work, and may God continue to bless you in all you do.
I'd love to make one of those totes... Did you create that pattern?....if so, do you have any interest in sharing? Or.... selling a copy if that's how you do business. Regardless, your work is stellar, and I love absolutely love the finished product. Top notch. Have a fantastic day brother !!! ... I appreciate you sharing your work process and leathercrafting techniques. Be cool, 💎#DVICE💎 #LEATHERCRAFT
As you already have a skiving machine, it would have been good if you rolled your edges in the top and also in the panels. It would give a more cleaner look.

That liner tho'!!! Excellent work. Some good tips too! Thanks!
Thanks. That was my first time doing a liner in a tote bag like that. If I would do it again I would make the liner a little smaller. Always learning.

Thank you. It is all trial & error. I think the size of the two cut out areas for the bottom are 2-3/4” from the edge by 5” long. If that makes sense.

Is the size/measurement for the lining(fabric) the same as the the measurement of the leather?
I believe it is but I think it could be a little smaller for a better fit.
