My son's hair (5) is in the process of freeforming and is currently in the "ugly phase". But I love it and I make sure I tell him that (you have beautiful hair! It's amazing, isn't it!
You inspired me to start a free form journey today Brody. Mad respect 🙏
It's been 8 months. How's everything going? 😄
10 month check in?
Me personally what I did was I let my hair grow for a year and I didn’t do nothing to it. No coming it, oiling it, washing it only 1 time every 2 months, and kinda over all neglecting my hair. After the year I stared taking care of it the best of my ability and I had curls and a Afro for a few months until I got a high top fade and used a towel to start my free forms. Used the towel for 5 hours straight Nd twisted them semi separated them since I still wanted the nappy look and washed it 2 months after I started the free forms. Now I took my free forms and crochet them together nd I went form 87 dreads to 40. I love my free forms and even though I did a different approach it still worked. Thank you for reading this far😭💯❤️

So when u say u washer every 2 months does that mean u wore a shower cap in the shower and didn’t let your hair get wet?
I absolutely love your hair 😍. My starter locs are chin length.. I’m contemplating semi free forming to add that volume at my roots
Haven’t washed my hair in two months and this man just told me I could wash my hair say less
How’d it go? Did ur hair look the same
@@ejking4776 nah it grew ngl just had to switch to sponge
@@BeliefCharles oh aight I was thinking that when I wash my hair it won’t look the same. I’m like 1 and a half months in.
@@ejking4776 nah it’s good when u wash yo hair but do it after 3 months I washed my hair picked it out and twist it back up
@@BeliefCharles Aight Hurd glooks
I’ve got a natural habit of twisting my hair (clean hands ofc)
Idk if that’s still free form but I’m rockin with it
Yea that’s called semi freeform
I do the same I thought it was free form till I started separating too
needed this! been struggling to enjoy my short locs & my hair is about the same length as yours. sometimes i love my hair, other times i wonder what i’m doing wrong. i get complimented and asked about how i achieved my look on my hair often and that boosts my confidence for sure. definitely learning patience ✨
Ayy we're on the same timeline! Love it! Wishing you many more compliments and amazing changes during the journey! Happy you enjoyed it!!😊🙏🏾❤️
Just have patience trust me 💯👌🏼
I been on my journey 1 year & all I hear is my hair looks knotty & messy
@@mandrelltwitty6105 it’s not about what people think tbh but if it looks messy try getting it maintained and get sections maybe.
@@Offthrax hell nawl I ain't separating I love my knotty look
I felt your energy quick man.
I'm one week into month 8! This month imma try n start oiling my scalp more often cos my head's been a lil ashy lately lol
Celeste!! Wow time is legit flying 😮 happy to hear it! And I don’t blame you, this weather makes me want to hide my scalp from the world lol. Congrats on 8 months! Know the crown looking prestine!
My boy, my boy! Always dropping bangers!
Ayy! Delirious! Hope the week treating you well man. Gotta keep the vibes alive- appreciate you man 🙏🏾✊🏾
@@DOMIBOY can you moisturize your hair every day while your hair is still trying to lock up bro???
the snow in ny be crazy i fell on the ice taking out the garbage lmao love the video
Nooo!!! hahaha😂hope you're all right man! It's wild out here the last week - snow had me lacking on posting another vid! glad you dig it man ✊🏾🙌🏾
Just found this mans channel after looking up freeform videos to see if freeforming but separating was a thing (been doing it for a year and nine months currently) and ended up finding his channel and I think I found another favorite for loc videos🤘🏽 other then tplocks😁😁
Started this journey Oct 2022. using a sponge and just oil moisturizer for my scalp, I'm just now to that point where when I take a shower the hair in the nape area doesn't come completely out... this will be my 6th or 7th set...loving every step along the way
Best loc videos ever I'm 1 month and your videos are really helping me thankyou bro for making theses videos
Congoooo familiaaa 🔥
I couldn't wait for my babies to drop🌚
🤫 😂 youuu know!!
He funny af I'm rocking with you bro🔥🔥💪🏾💪🏾
5:18 yea I see it. It's a good style on u tho. And that thing about appreciate the present or else you wont enjoy the future is some powerful shit man
The shop keeper in one of the hair shops in my town said I shouldn’t wash my hair for a month
Appreciate it 😂😂starting my Freeforms(from twist ) had traditional locs for 3yrs cut my hair
I have to admit I've been manipulating too frequently early in my journey...I washed my hair last night and while washing in a circular motion I have alot of short strings of hair on my hands is that a sign to restart the journey? I know hair natural shed but I'm not sure if it's "good" shedding.
It’s natural it’s just like picking your hair out, some will come out don’t een trip on it
Bro i came from the vid with the secret drying technique😂😂😂u lit congrats on a new sub
hy man, thanks i look forward to your vids. have a good week Domi!
I look forward to your comments Spidey! Appreciate you man - you too! I'm planning a Subscriber Appreciation vid soon and def gotta give you your love bro!

You funny as hell bro😂😂🤣
Domi better heart this comment 😩
Much love bro! OF COURSE!! Hope all is well mu dude ❤️🙌🏾
@@DOMIBOY all good brother
nice video bro! do u think washing every 2/3 days is good 2 weeks after i started the journey? my scalp is sooo dry i cant help but wash it kinda frequently
I really needed this man
Hi. I just started my hair growth journey; and my hair is 6months now.. I wanna know if it’s okay for me to be applying hair growth hair cream on my hair every day??
Not like I wash my hair everyday(just let water on it but no washing) but I apply hair cream on it every time I take a shower
Can I wear a durag at night time ?
Definitely enjoying the content !
Appreciate you Raven 🙏🏾 thank you for watching
Starting my son's freeforms great info
What about ppl with really dry scalp/dandruff? we should still avoid products?
Use herbal teas 🍵☕ and herbal oils.
Can i still grow my freeforms if i taper the sides and back amd my hairline?
Or will that spoil the freeforms?
I just took out my 1 month comb coils rubbed my hands thru my head oiled my scalp and gone rock out
Drop more vids man I have a question how do you get your baby locks to lock and is wearing a dread cap is fine to wear at night?
Def will bro! I've been slacking with the snow and covid sitch but I won't leave the fam hanging again. A bonnet or dread cap is def fine! I'm always afraid of wearing anything too tight, in fear of pressing down on the locs too much. SO I usually just use a satin pillowcase. Hope this helps!
So dnt even use the hair sponge? Ive been using it and it helps but I want to not use it for about a week...
The real mvp ✊🏽
FUDGESICLES, I STARTED WITH TWIST NOW I CANT FREEFORM 😂😂😂😂
Dead called me out for going to the washing video 😂
Bro I dig your vibe your funny asf
Hi Bro, my name is Charles and thanks for everything u do here...I have a picture and I would like u to give me an advise about how the guy made that hair...if it is a free form or dreadlocks but no way here to send u that picture. It is exactly what I want to do but I am so confuse. No one have an answer...I just don't know ...I need some advise. Is there anyway to send u that picture and have ur opinion on it?? Thank u
My question is my hair is curly but I’m trying get free form so my hair is twist but is curly twist basically
Thank you bro,,, this really helped me
Can I add locking gel to help with the locking process?
Don’t it’s gonna build up just trust the process
when i wash my hair i have major shrinkage. any tips
Curlier the hair pattern the more shrikage we’ll deal with. Unfortunately only patience and waiting for length can help us buddy ✊🏾
My hair won’t get nappy again it just soft
Exactly
@@Soulstealermari same my sponge won’t work or the brush method
does wearing a bun in the early phase effect the process in a negative way?
Bruh ur voice somehow syncs with the beat. Sounds like rap 😁
If you wash your hair would you have to retest bc when I twist mine and wash it the twist come unloose and I would have to retwist
Very Informative and Very Funny bro thank you
I gotta question i started my free forms way too early like i should’ve waited on my hair to grow more but like now it’s drooping down but it doesn’t look right because i started tooo early what should i do
Idk what I did but I had a Afro and started my free forms about a week ago and they already dropped
Ok so im like 6 months in and my hair is getting to the locked stage. Do i still wash because it will untangle a bit
I think maybe don’t wash it then if you’re afraid of buildup just do a ACV rinse. But I’m not a professional so can someone verify??
Most def! At that stage I continued my washes normally and like mixed emotions said an acv rinse is a great alternative! Depending on your hair texture you can continue washing normally. At this point you shouldn’t have too much untangling happening, and if you do washing with cold water and a nature residue free soap is a great way to get things locing up and tightening.
I use water base like beewax loc gel
What do you mean by you use your hand to twist?
Hey I actually get more into this in the washing video on my page, I basically just use my palms during my wash and rub my hair in a counter clockwise motion. Hope this helps! ✊🏾🙌🏾
I’m getting some shedding how do I address it?
so question, ive i just wash my hair regularly and dont comb it out itll eventually lock up even without the use of a sponge/ towel?
yes
What’s the proper way to lift freeform?
I been starting my free form journey for a week and a half now , I been using a sponge , how should I wash my hair and keep progress
with sponge or any other manipulation isn’t freeform locs, that is semi freeform
Im about 3 months into my journey of sponge locs i have 4a/b hair i wash very lightly not too wet once every 2 weeks to keep stuff out an the last day of every month a good wash it's working pretty well but everybody's is different that early stage is always discouraging 😂 but it always comes out cool 😎
I’d just wash with a residue-free natural shampoo 1 a week or every 2 weeks and make sure it’s dry, and just let it be. Just like Larry said, it’s dependent on your individual hair texture and porosity but 1-2x / every 1-2 weeks is a great place to start. Also check out my washing tutorial on the channel! Should also help. Thanks for watching!
Great video 💯💯
I use leave in conditioner because my other tries at free forms went unsuccessful unless I cheated but just water and leave in conditioner my hair has grown longer and my hair is like play doh ish I have tons of dreads I usually would have like 90 to 95 but I have atleast 120ish
How often do u use the leave in conditioner
Is using a hair sponge bad? I use one but I keep my hair moisturized and I'm careful. Is it still bad?
8:25 there's a key change in the music
Question, can I use spray grease and oils? Will that cause mold?
I use water base loc gel
Very small Afro how do you start
I have 4c type hair will it locks up
Yeah ofc
Since you have 4c you don’t need a sponge nor gel towel and brush *medium * towel method works the best
4:00
HOW DID YOU
Do you get your twist that you have now by hand and sponge?
I actually got mine just by using my palm and cold showers. I get more into the specifics of how I wash to aide with separation in the washing video on my page. Hope this helps!
I hate how my hair just hangs lol I’m not tryna go for that look and it’s not bad it’s just I don’t really want it😂😂🤦🏽♂️
Can I put oil on mine
What’s that beat?
lol im watching this vid even though my hair is too short for dreads
I be so confused some people say don't wash some people say do so I don't know what to do.
1 month in, what you learn?
@@ish5670 Notifications are just now showing me your comment but I learnt that it's probably better to not wash from what i've seen and heard from other people but i've already washed my hair twice so I might just keep doing it
Nobody ever said I can’t condition
how do i moisturize my hair my shit way to dry
Leave in conditioner
@@thatoneguywho3434 my hair is just soft and won’t nap up any fixes?
@@Fewnurals nah bro I have the same problem😭. I’m growing it out to get box braids anyways. But I’d suggest putting it in 2 strand twists and leaving it for a while
Domi is there anything I can use for bad dandruff?
T-Gel Shampoo, cold water, and cutting back on how often you wash are all great solutions. At times, dandruff is caused by a dry scalp. The usual culprits are hot water, a shampoo that's too strong, or too many washes. (1-2x per week is enough). So, try playing around with these options.
@@DOMIBOY do u wash your hair in cold water or just rinse the shampoo out in cold water?
@@sippinginori1049 He washes in cold water
i had to restart because when i did my first wash after 1 month everything unraveled
Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that. Don’t be discouraged, if you’re a month in, there really isn’t much that you’d be unraveling at this point. It’s all a long process and this too is a part of the journey. Early on your hair will look more puffy and some days more loc-like. Time and patience and being consistent will get you there!
@Chloe Great I’m good now, been on for 6 months👍🏿
7:47😂😂😂😂
Can you wear hats?
Hey fam, when starting freeform is it a no go on beanies and hats? I’m in the Midwest it’s freezing right now
I personally think wearing a hat once in awhile is completely fine! Just know wearing all hours of the day all day may start affecting. But short term use when traveling is completely fine! I copped a tam and a beanie that has a satin in-line that I switch in between myself. NY is frozen over rn! Wishing you luck out there! Hope this helps! ✊🏾💯
Bruh this nigga hilarious
I subbed because of fucksicles
I want to freeform at first then get a retwist
Im widdit! Best of both worlds, then you can go back to freeforming whenever you like
😄😄
you funny lol
