I’m at work, and put on the video without looking, I was suprised to see you didn’t have a lot of subs and more views this was amazing advice and broken down simple good job 👏👏👏
I’m so late to this video but could you do a similar breakdown on defense? I’m a mid diamond player and my biggest issue is I always feel like I make the wrong choice on defense\ really struggle on taking space back when I’m in the corner and just really struggle with making the right choice
I feel like this video applies at platinum level now. Everyone I play is master level player on an alt or playing the new DLC Ed. I've lost 1000 rating since Ed was released and you can tell who is master because they have perfect play: never allow any jump in or special jump ins, always cancel DI and punish perfectly, always have hit confirms, and way too ornate extended drive burnout combos for platinum. Make two mistakes you are dead. They know how to get out of the the corner or keep you there. Ed has been out two weeks. No one has perfect play at platinum unless it is an alt. Plus they don't fill out their join screen profile at all.
Hey this is all good stuff to apply at lower levels as well so that part is true. If you think everyone is smurfing on new characters in plat though I encourage you to go back and watch your replays to find mistakes. Guaranteed there are literally dozens per game and tons of things you can do better. Im pretty familiar with plat ranks as I just coached my gf, with a few months fighting game experience to diamond. You just have to be more inttospective and fund ways to improve your own play instead of having the mentality that everyone else is playing perfectly in plat, because i guarantee you they arent. I hope you stick with it and climb. You can do it if you try!
Hey thank you! Im hanging between 1600 - 1700 MR right now im ranked :) I havent played chun in a bit because im doing Aki to master but ill get back on the grind with her real soon!
@@Haldeon this sounds great . I have the problem that if I played other characters I would have difficulty getting along with Chun-li again. That's why I haven't played any other characters since Streetfighter 4, even though a lot of newbies look cool. Respect to everyone who tries and masters the "Road to Master" series. I'm only Platinum 3 and have been playing Chun-li only for years. My greatest respect to you
@@Emma-Mountebank Don't be afraid to branch out! I get it-I always played Shotos, so I started with Ryu for the first few months from launch. I also hit Plat 3 at that time. Eventually, I knew I needed a change, and I _finally_ decided to learn a new character. I picked Juri, and played her exclusively so I didn't ruin my muscle memory and I could learn clean. For a while, I couldn't switch between them without messing up all my moves. I've since gotten comfortable with Juri and she's now my main, but recently, I was able to go back to Ryu and get him to Diamond, as well as picking up Ken and getting him there, too. Now I can play all 3 characters. It's just about knowing your learning style; for me it was laser-focusing on one new character for a long time until it was second-nature, then I could eventually switch back and forth. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's definitely worth trying someone new to keep it fresh, and it's a nice break from playing your highest level of Ranked to learn a new character and play through a lower rank again. Eventually, you'll be able to play both. Also, it helps you understand more of the game.
I'm struggling with whiff punishing in neutral, by the time someone whiffs i react so slow that even when I hit a button its blocked. I've even tried the double button technique as suggested by sanjem paying deeply for it
Ahh yea ok! Sorry for getting to answer so late. Whiff punishing goes hand in hand with having good spacing and footsies. Your reaction to the whiffed button will be much faster if you are expecting the whiffed button. Walking in and out of the range of a normal an opponent uses a lot at that range will help bait the whiff, and since you are expecting them to hit that button at that range you will be all the more ready with your own button to catch the whiff. Its important to know what buttons people want to hit at different ranges so you can accurately predict when they will hit that button. If you are just trying to react to a whiffed button and not expecting it, it is incredibly difficult to get the whiff punishes youre wanting. I hope this makes a little bit of sense at least.
Hey there! So you will mainly be looking to do the combo that works on crouching opponents when you whiff punish a button that puts the opponent in a crouching state. For example if ryu throws out a sweep and you whiff punish with cr.mk dr you can do that combo! Hope this clears things up a bit!
Consistency is key fot climbing past 1500. It gets really difficult because the game is so volatile. The highest ive made it so far was about 1650 - 1700. Im getting stucj around there. Dont get discouraged though!
