Goose Blizzard BEAT DOWN 2022 - Hunting the Front Range of Colorado on New Years Day!

- The first day of Goose Hunting 2022 and we kicked it off with a bang on New Years Day! The timing couldn't have been any better, it started snowing on new years eve 2021 and by the morning we had almost a foot of snow along the front range of Colorado. All that snow is plenty to hide the layout blinds with snow covers and they never saw us coming!
We dumped all 10 dozen shells in the goose trailer and put out a dozen or so full body goose decoys. It was so cold the geese didn't fly until late morning, When they did fly it was hot and heavy. We were able to shoot our five-man limit in no time at all. Almost all of these geese were shot within 30 yards....they never saw us coming and they finished beautifully!
In the beginning of this video, I give some great tips on how to hunt geese in the snow. Hunting in the snow is something we have mastered over the years and something I wanted to pass along to everyone who watches. I hope the tips help :)
The day before this we crushed a three-man limit in a goose pit we call the dirt hole. If you liked this video be sure to check that one out as well: • Call em to the Dirt - ...

Great video, as usual. I'd leave that damn dog at the house though. The noise ain't too bad, but the one thats breaking is a big problem.
Yea my buddies dog gets a little jumpy he has been doing a really good job at working with him though!
That dog 😂
my buddies dog gets a little jacked lol
Great video!!!
Thanks Mason!
@@HoltzOutdoors So you don’t use a shock collar your dog
@@masonvineyard6589 my dog wasn’t the one barking. My dog does wear a shock collar for safety but I havnt had to use it in a couple years
@@HoltzOutdoors I noticed that that isn’t your dog because of previous videos but I was just wondering
@@masonvineyard6589 you got it mason it a sound you have heard on this channel before lol
Good setup! Have to admit, kind of funny for a dog to do that. Maybe it would help to have the dog completely covered up not seeing what is happening until after the shooting- then send her out to retrieve. Good stuff- keep it up!
We thought the same thing we we covered him on a more recent hunt and it worked pretty good turns out his trigger word is ready lol
I would have to use a shock collar on that dog that is uncontrollable.
It’s my buddies dog he is a great dog but he does break which is why he leashes him the bad part is he barks when he gets excited and we do t know what to do about it. Shocking doesn’t help…
Great video. Shame about that dog. Apart from the noise he makes, seems like an alright dog.
Yeah and he is a great dog just gets really excited and barks when they start landing I almost can’t blame them it’s pretty dang exciting!
Guess that pup calls the shots... quite literally. 😆 It is what it is. At least they seem to be in range when he loses his shit.
Lmao that’s a good way to put it! My buddies dog just gets excited you can’t blame him amd you are right it’s when they are landing so for them it’s too late anyways haha
