I was thinking the same thing. Especially beings that I main hunt my lab on the various upland birds in S ID. We go into the season steady AF and by the time we start hunting wf hard in the late season, that steadyness is long.gone.lol😊
Brad is one of the main reasons I even gave hunting the time of day. When I watched his Bon Appetit episode going hunting for sage grouse, the respect he gave the animals was something I had never seen before. Watching MeatEater just reaffirmed it. Glad to see all the collabs with Brad 😊
I spent 20 years guiding goose and duck hunts and haven't hunted since I retired 5 years ago. This video got me kinda fired up to get back into the field. Getting back to basics and hunting with a friend or two is where the real memories are made.
Cal and Snort will forever be my favorite. As is this series! I love seeing a great dog and hunter work together. I hope this continues. Plus his conservation is a cheery on top.
This was crossover I didn't know I needed but it's so obvious now. Great ep. Bring Brad back. I love the hunting part but really love the cooking segments they do.
I'm a big jerky guy. I have turned entire whitetail into jerky and I've had jerky from many species over the years. My dad told me geese aren't edible so I had to try it. Goose jerky is far and away the best jerky I have ever had. I encourage everyone to try it, especially those who aren't keen on eating geese otherwise. Even my dad admitted it was better than any venison jerky he's had. You don't even need a smoker or dehydrator. Slice the meat into strips and put a dry rub on it overnight. Skewer it on kebab sticks and wedge the ends of those in your oven rack to hang the meat (don't forget to put tinfoil down to catch drippings). I cook mine at 175 degrees for 4 hours because that's the lowest temp my oven goes. I usually shut the oven off at the end and leave it in there till the oven fully cools down. Disclaimer: I've only ever had gas ovens and I've never tried this with electric.
"Those are Canada gooses... Those are Canada's f#@$ing gooses. If you got a problem with them, then you got a problem with me and I suggest you let that one marinate." .... preferably for 3 hours and then grilled. Sorry for the Letterkenney reference. It's the first thing that popped into my mind seeing this. Great video and even better shooting from you guys.
Regarding aiming at waterfowl: I was taught to watch the bead and think Butt, Belly, Beak, Bang! Snort is doing well, she's certainly motivated!! Love hearing about her, and how her training is going. Thanks for very entertaining show!
Love Cal. Always quiet, witty humour😆 I like seeing a lot of geese. It shows that nature is still healthy. A lot of bad parasites and diseases are killing off wildlife populations
Lovin that Brad join yah Cal. He is a Hoot🤣. The fist time i wanted to cook a Canadian Goose, I called up a friend and asked... He said" get your castiron pan hot add the Goose. Cook until the Castiron pan is tender😳. So I never did😢. Thanks guys for the tips
Corned Goose Ruebens are amazing!! We love them. Normally do them with snow geese and I pressure cook the breasts in beef stock after 7 days corning, then shred them. We prefer Canada's and Specks cooked like roast beef or in a sweet and sour with veggies over rice. Waterfowl Rocks! if know how to prepare for the table.
Dude Cal could not have picked a better friend. I’m so pumped to see this and more. If Brad could get Claire S. Out on a hunt, oh and with Vinny doing some filming too, 2024 would be complete before it begins. I don’t know what their current situation is or Claire and Vinnies views on hunting but that would be some heavy duty A grade nostalgia with one of the coolest twists. Even just Brad and Cal hunt and Claire do some magic cooking. I have still yet to see on camera chemistry like Brad and Vinny had. Other than maybe Cal, Steve and Janni, I don’t know what their relationship is like now, nor Claire but even if it’s just a pipe-dream I think that would be so terrific. Back in the BA days, That got me into watching UA-cam and a ton of other interests I won’t bore you with but before or since, I haven’t seen a more iconic duo than Brad And Vin. Claire keeping everything chaotically in check. That was a crazy time that I’d love to see ‘Re-created’ (Obviously not ALL of it needs Re-creating....) I forgot to say Thank you ME crew, Brad and Cal and all the hard work that went on behind the scenes to create this. And all episodes for that matter. I know how hard you ladies and gents work and I want to say it’s very much appreciated.
This is just a great video! Brad, well done on this and Cal, it was fun watching you guide Brad. Between him and Snort, I felt like you were hearing cats, but it turned out well and that’s how hunting should be (in a good way). Looking forward to the next installment of goose hunting!!
Your dog is so adorable! Looks exactly like my yellow lab, she's currently in training for retrieving, and I can't wait to get her out for the hunt! Oh, and I'm also in Idaho! Love the content good job guys!
Any video with Cal is an instant like button hit! I like a lot of the new groups coming into the meateater fold and i miss when it would be jani, cal, and steve just out doing their thing and having fun. Clay newcomb, imo, kind of is a dud. He just doesnt seem to fit in with the group! Glad to see brad on here btw!
Great hunting! Mabey they whole "goose is bad thing" was started so that those already in the "know" would have more for themselves. I definitely want to try some after watching all these meateater videos. Great video, mahalo for sharing.
I loved waterfowling in idaho where I grew up. Unfortunately I had to stop when I worked at a waste water plant and witnessing how many ducks and geese utilize them in the winter as an open water source.
Goose was instantly one of my favorite foods the first time i ate it, many years later and its still one of my favourites. Everyone that goose hunts should at least try it. If you actually hate it, fair enough, but you owe it to yourself and the goose to at least try it.
So I’m from Wyoming, and we eat goose all the time and in every form. One of my favorite birds. Also, antelope hunting is a hunt I guide every year and would love to take you guys out to my area. Have to draw but it’s relatively easy to draw, with a great hunt behind the tag. If you see this and are interested, please reach out
Rinse wash repeat The blood out of Woodcock and waterfowl alike, then a slow salt brine for a day or two. Hit the grill while seasoned up and you’ll be happy. Even if you do overcook it the brine keeps it tender and moist
Brad Leone needs a meateater series, him and Daniel Prewett would be a great 2-3 series show.
I think he did a two parter with D.P.
Agreed!
you mean him and chef jean paul b!!!
@@kdkulhanek that would be just as good!
He’s the best!
Brad + Meat Eater = formula for success. Holy eff this came out of left field and it is great!
Brad + anything is a formula for success to be fair. Guy is just likeable af
I think a meateater "SNORT!" t shirt would be a hot seller
Brad needs to be a full time part of meateater
he's got his own youtube channel that probs takes up most of his time
Honestly, his own youtube videos are nowhere near as good as his old BA stuff. I think he would benefit from the production value of meateater.
Ryan growling, "Sit" at Snort is one of the most relatable things ever...his is to a dog and mine is to two kids, but yeah.
I was thinking the same thing. Especially beings that I main hunt my lab on the various upland birds in S ID. We go into the season steady AF and by the time we start hunting wf hard in the late season, that steadyness is long.gone.lol😊
Haha, I don't know anything about hunting, so at first I thought he was saying it to Brad. "Sit. Siiiit. Alright, kill 'im." 😂
How did I ever miss that video
I spent 20 years guiding goose and duck hunts and haven't hunted since I retired 5 years ago. This video got me kinda fired up to get back into the field. Getting back to basics and hunting with a friend or two is where the real memories are made.
Cal and Snort will forever be my favorite. As is this series! I love seeing a great dog and hunter work together. I hope this continues. Plus his conservation is a cheery on top.
Brad learning to hunt and fish species he’s unfamiliar with would be a great Meateater show.
Please.
It would literally be just an alternate Steve at the beginnings of meat eater😂
Any antelope hunt with Cal would be awesome! Definitely set that up and I’ll watch it!
Love the appreciation Brad brings to the meat
That first shot by Brad was mint 👌 I 100% did not expect that. Awesome, just awesome
I wouldn't mind Brad joining the expanded universe of Meateater. Love him. He is great!
This collab makes my cook/hunter brain happy
This was crossover I didn't know I needed but it's so obvious now. Great ep. Bring Brad back. I love the hunting part but really love the cooking segments they do.
Heck yeah! I was not expecting this to ever happen! Get him a Meat Eater show!
I'm a big jerky guy. I have turned entire whitetail into jerky and I've had jerky from many species over the years. My dad told me geese aren't edible so I had to try it. Great video and even better shooting from you guys.
As a HUGE fan of Brad, and this show- I am SO excited for this!! We need more! God bless you all.
Brads da bomb aye. Down to earth, knowledgably n crack up humor to go with it.
The crossover I didn’t know I needed, but now want so much more of! This was great, thanks!!
As soon as I saw Brad was on this episode, i knew I would watch.
great episode, yes please to an antelope hunt with brad and cal!
Brad is a legend… always need more of him on meateater
19:45 Cal is sooo happy. Cal is a good boy!
This duo is awsome, wanna see more of them together!!!
Regardless of what ended up on the cutting-room floor, THAT was a great video! Thank you
Love at first sight is easy to understand; its when two people have been looking at each other for a lifetime that it becomes a miracle.
My two favourite people!!!!!!
More with Brad please! Can’t get enough. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Regarding aiming at waterfowl: I was taught to watch the bead and think Butt, Belly, Beak, Bang! Snort is doing well, she's certainly motivated!! Love hearing about her, and how her training is going. Thanks for very entertaining show!
Canada goose pastrami may be the best wild game I've ever prepared.
@bradleone is the best! Love that he’s branching out!!
Love Cal. Always quiet, witty humour😆 I like seeing a lot of geese. It shows that nature is still healthy. A lot of bad parasites and diseases are killing off wildlife populations
He’s low key the funniest guy
Lovin that Brad join yah Cal.
He is a Hoot🤣.
The fist time i wanted to cook a Canadian Goose, I called up a friend and asked...
He said" get your castiron pan hot add the Goose.
Cook until the Castiron pan is tender😳.
So I never did😢.
Thanks guys for the tips
Echoing making brad full time MeatEater!
I will watch anything with Brad he is great.

Two of my favorite shows united! Good job boys
Been waiting 5 years for this collab

Another brilliant episode from the team
Cool to see you come through Idaho! Underrated state for sure
Yes yes. I like this guys dynamic with the CALLAHAN. Send this man on an antelope hunt
There is no great genius without some touch of madness.
Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.
More Leone on MeatEater PLEASE
"If you feel like you don't have enough gear, do I have a hobby for you." LOL (and so true)!
This is best yet. Brad and Cal need to be featured lots more.
Dude Cal could not have picked a better friend.
I’m so pumped to see this and more.

Great hunt and video. I cant wait for the late season here in Michigan to open back up now that we have snow on the ground.
Snort's a good dog. Good boy. Great vid.
Soon as this video dropped and I saw that Brad was in it, I couldn't hit play and like fast enough.
This is just a great video! Brad, well done on this and Cal, it was fun watching you guide Brad. Between him and Snort, I felt like you were hearing cats, but it turned out well and that’s how hunting should be (in a good way).

more Brad for sure
Would be awesome to see more of Brad on here
Great video....those birds did it nice....goose burgers rule!!
Brad is awesome. He’s 100x more awesome on meat eater.
Your dog is so adorable! Looks exactly like my yellow lab, she's currently in training for retrieving, and I can't wait to get her out for the hunt! Oh, and I'm also in Idaho! Love the content good job guys!
Best show to watch!
We need more Brad
Really enjoyed this video! Goose pastrami out of the MEATEATER cookbook is a hit at my house.
“Just one at a time there, Muscles” had me dying.
I'm impressed with the cooking.
Steve hear me out here “If it flies it dies and tastes great!” With Cal and Brad
Absolutely Goose meat is underrated. Love it roasted like a Turkey as well! Kids love it too
Any video with Cal is an instant like button hit! I see Mr. Leone - I click
As a Canadian, I'll be looking at those birds in a whole new way next fall🍗😋

goose and guinness stew... fantastic
Great hunting! Mabey they whole "goose is bad thing" was started so that those already in the "know" would have more for themselves. I definitely want to try some after watching all these meateater videos. Great video, mahalo for sharing.
I feel your pain cal. Also thanks for the recipe. I'm gonna try that.
YES! TAKE the man antelope hunting!
Love Brad
More Brad!!
I loved waterfowling in idaho where I grew up. Unfortunately I had to stop when I worked at a waste water plant and witnessing how many ducks and geese utilize them in the winter as an open water source.
Please do the anyelope pronghorn hint. Good guest!
Y’all gotta do the antelope hunt!
I’m here for Brad👊🏻 But Snort has me dying… I know the feeling dad😂 She’s a really good girl though👍🏻😂
Brad on meateater trivia 😂
Goose was instantly one of my favorite foods the first time i ate it, many years later and its still one of my favourites. Everyone that goose hunts should at least try it. If you actually hate it, fair enough, but you owe it to yourself and the goose to at least try it.
If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
Love the waterfowl stuff
So I’m from Wyoming, and we eat goose all the time and in every form. One of my favorite birds. Also, antelope hunting is a hunt I guide every year and would love to take you guys out to my area. Have to draw but it’s relatively easy to draw, with a great hunt behind the tag. If you see this and are interested, please reach out
I keep saying, ya'll need to do a meat eater hunting trip contest.
I would love to go Goose Hunting. I grew up in CA so Rabbit and Quail and small Deer
One at a time, Muscles!
More Brad!
I didn’t know he was a hunter. But it makes perfect sense. He wants to know where his food came from.
Get Brad a cooking segment with meat eater ples
We grew up deer hunting, but there were a couple old shotguns around. I tried as a kid but to this day, at 64, I've never shot anything from the sky!
Rinse wash repeat The blood out of Woodcock and waterfowl alike, then a slow salt brine for a day or two. Hit the grill while seasoned up and you’ll be happy. Even if you do overcook it the brine keeps it tender and moist
Brad needs to be hired asap
That’s an ear ringing! 7:39
"Teach things that can be replicated without you."

MeatEater Director of Conservation.
Meateater needs to hire Brad.
It’s weird seeing a Brad video without Brad’s editing style.
Get Brad on the podcast too!
