Layout Blinds in Fresh Snow - Goose Hunting the Front Range of Colorado!

The night before this hunt I scouted a thousand or so geese feeding in this field. However, the field had just been tilled into dirt making the hide nearly impossible. Luckily we had 2-3 in of snow in the forecast for that night which is just enough for the snow covers to hide the layouts. The big question was, would we get the snow?
We woke up to 4 in of snow on the ground and headed to the field at 4:30 am. We needed plenty of time to hide the blinds and get all the decoys setup. The setup took extra long since we couldn't drive in the field. Luckily my buddy had a QuietKat ebike which made quick work of the transport!
Our spread and hide looked great. The one thing that killed us was the lack of wind. We would have big groups spin on us three or four times and even when a single or pair would drop in, the big groups would pick something out or get confused and slowly pick up. The lack of wind also had two groups land outside our narrow shooting lane. Despite no wind, we still got into two good groups and picked through singles and doubles to get to 22 geese on the day.

Get out and find some fields and get permissions. Public is tough this year

All over the state my man, I go where the birds are and rarely hunt the same place twice.
