Great tips! You might have said it and I missed it, but if you are taking a truck and staying overnight, dont forget planning how to secure your treasures overnight at the hotel if you dont have a truckbed that is covered. If you had totes, you could take them inside of the hotel. Also, a way to cover the truckbed if it rains. Happy shopping! Cant wait to see what treasures you and Aunt Penny find!!
We went last year and brought the disposable wet wipes packets which were a must! You feed the need to disinfect your hands often since hundreds of people (from all walks of life) touch the same things you just touched. Also bring a bunch of Walmart bags for car trash, goodies and protecting breakables.
Thanks for the tips. A friend and I are coming from Pensacola Fl. It is kinda spur of the moment. This is the fiest video of yours I have watched. The suscribe button has been hit. We will keep our eye out for you although Iam sure you will be out ahead of us since you are closer.
I love it! I’ve been doing the 127 sale for many years. I live in Florida and we do it as a vacation just my husband and myself. We are planning on starting on 7/27 we always have lots of fun. We never go looking for any certain things just whatever catches our eye ❤️ Go and have fun.
Penny, Hoping/betting you find some more great mixing bowls for your wonderful collection. I collect them now too after your inspiring collection got me started! Also some restaurant ware. Excited for ya'll. Can't wait for the after-trip video and all the great finds!!
This video was so great! I was wanting some tricks and tips for the 127 Yard Sale! I'm in Gadsden and can't wait to see what I can find this summer. If I see you I'm gonna say hi! 😊👍🌻
Great tips - So true about the professional vendors/large vendors areas not being the best deals. Good tip regarding safety like hotels. Wish I could go with ya'll!
Keep in mind that Chattanooga and Crossville are in two different time zones. I'm not far from Chattanooga and I've yet to attempt any part of this yard sale. Every year my husband and I talk about going, but the heat and the traffic is what deters us. 🤷♀️
With taking a pick up without a topper, take a large tarp that you can cover goodies and Bungee cords for tie downs. Also, sandwiches that don't need to be kept cold (pb&j) or even cheese sandwiches for the cooler. That's always a good idea (saves sale $$ and is great for hunger and sugar lows). Along with the tarp idea carry an old table cloth to cover items in the vehicle this can save you a break in at a restaurant or hotel.
I'm staying in crossville my 2nd time going..coming all the way from wisconsin..I'm always interested in meeting new ppl..maybe meet-up and pick some treasure
Wonderful tips!!! I'm a magnet to mosquitos! For the Pterodactyl mosquitos😆...I wear the coil insect repellant bracelets. They work! Also, maybe bring a small fan for your over nights, in your hotel room. Some don't have over head fans... The breeze and the noise might help with sleep. Some day, it would be so fun to do this. Have a wonderful, FUN trip!
Ummmmm hummmm those coil mosquito bracelets 😮left over from my drive in movie days 😂 always left a yellow stain on the windshield but they were seriously good 👍
Good tips , here in N.C. we have a 301 yard sale from one end of our state to the other end Ours in in June and usually hot too . Yall have great time 😊❤
I'm looking forward to this! We recently moved to Kentucky near 127 and didn't realize what it was last year when we saw all the sales along the road and didn't have time to stop. I can't wait to check it out this year. Thanks for the tips!
A tip: I have one of those cool neck things that you soak in water and it stays cool. You can refresh it so it lasts all day. Those really help! There are different kinds but mine just looks like a little neck tie scarf.
The World's Longest Yard Sale is my favorite! I'm so excited to do it again. Last year I started on Monday and shopped through Sunday. There are sales in almost every field along the highway.
Such great tips.I wish I could go sometime but for now I will just watch you two sitting in my recliner in the air conditioning. Give Buster a hug for me.
Great information! I’ve been several times and absolutely love it. We did all 4 days one time from Kentucky to Alabama and boy were we exhausted but we got the greatest stuff. I always took a skinny little collapsible cart to drag my stuff around in if I was walking from one sale to another. Making a list of things you really want is definitely the way to go. Oh and snacks, always always take a bunch of snacks so you don’t get “hangry”. Hope y’all have a blast. Now I’m gonna go watch last year’s video again!
Thank you, Kayla! Great advice and so many tips that have never crossed my mind…bringing hand tools, for example. 😅 Have a great time thrifting! I’m just gonna chill out in the AC and wait for some October yard sales! 😁
Good tips. I’ve traveled the WLYS many times and it takes a few times to really learn what to do or not to do. I hope that you and Aunt Penny have a great time and find lots of good deals.
I love the Waze app but he gets impatient with me with his “let’s go.” Very good tips! With the heat this year, I might wait until next year to try to go. Hope you both have a lot of fun and find great bargains.
Wonderful tips! I would love to do that yard sale someday but for now we do one in Virginia called the Rt.11 Yard Crawl. Your tips will still apply. You and Aunt Penny should come up one year. Lots of great treasures ❤ and so much fun!
You should have seen it about 20 years ago. OMG the fields near Nocalula Falls were full of sellers. Every house has a yard sale. I stopped going several years ago because it went downhill. Early bird resellers and dealers really ruined it. They would show up during set up and buy up all the best stuff and by the official first day of the sale it was completely picked over. The last WLYS we went to all I came home with was some fresh veggies from a roadside stand. 😰
Great tips! Also, sunscreen left in a hot car for a couple of hours will separate and be no good. Big tube rendered useless! Says right on tube not to expose to high temps (huh?)for a long period of time. And that stuff isn't cheap. OR, Leave in a cooler.
Can me and my son go with you and Aunt Penny? Seriously do you have any advice for me being in a wheelchair? I can't wait to get my new leg!!!! I still drive so I'm going!! My precious baby isn't as excited but he finds more than I do, clothes, shoes, nerf guns, video games and things a boy wants. Give me Ironstone, Rae Dunn, home decor and vintage goodies. Ohhh leave me some vintage Halloween and Christmas please ma'am. When are y'all having y'all's yardsale? I wanna come!!!
I always carry an atlas in my car, water, snacks, wool blanket, small shovel, etc but my concern is more for blizzards😂 rather than heatwaves 😂 but really ppl should be prepared for anything, can’t take anything for granted these days. And safety preparedness is VERY important! I better stop commenting not even a third way thru this video 😂
If you ever run out of money with a truck load of items set up a table on the road 😅flipping on road 101… I think you look for the non dealers sales for sure especially churches for sure look for ads from individuals and use them as pins on the map look for look for indicators of multiple family members those are clean outs. I agree by all means love one another be kind friendly…🙏☕️☕️☕️☕️thermos or small cooler loved your video ❤I subscribed
Also take box of cornstarch for chaffed skin, tarps and tie downs for truxks. Take a wet bathxloth is a zip lock bag instead of wipes. Aloe vera for sunburns. I keep hand tools all the time. Lol. Dollar tree has the clear plastic ponchos 1.25. Yes stay hydrated as the young can get heat exhaustion too. I did in my early 40s at my son's baseball game. I knew when I quit sweating, I was in trouble. So just because your young, doesn't mean things can't happen.
Please wear sunscreen take care of your skin it is a organ too. I had stage 3 melanoma that spread to lymph nodes in my neck. We have too big yards sales here in KENTUCKY !!!! 127 yards sale and the 68 yard sale. Be careful and enjoy.
A lot of great information! We are going to attend this event… But we’re not going to far, so we can come back home. We’re in Central Tennessee. 😁 I sent you a message on Instagram.

All of these are good tips! I’m trying to talk my husband into going on this yard sale. There’s a Highway 411 yard sale the first weekend in October.

Can I go can I go ? Hope you ladies find tons of great stuff! I agree with the not sure why it’s the hottest time of the year.

Also watch out for fire ant piles!

That would be so refreshing - cold sunscreen from the cooler!

Hello Buster!
When is y'all's yardsale? I wanna come!!!

How do you find shows to go too to sell your things?
Be careful. When we got back to our room and turned the tv on we discovered someone had been ran over and killed. Very scary.
The😂only thing I would add to this list😂of great advice is never pass up a nice clean bathroom.😂
Yesss!!!! And carry toilet paper too😊
Please wear sunscreen take care of your skin it is a organ too. I had stage 3 melanoma that spread to lymph nodes in my neck. We have too big yards sales here in KENTUCKY !!!! 127 yards sale and the 68 yard sale. Be careful and enjoy.
I want to go have fun and be safe
How about chapstick, lips start getting dry and sunburned and yuck miserable!
Good one!!!
A lot of great information!
We are going to attend this event… But we’re not going to far, so we can come back home. We’re in Central Tennessee. 😁

Do you have any advice for the best places to go in Tennessee? I'm in central Tennessee too, Pulaski.
