Side note on the other reply during anesthesia breathing can indicate pain levels and how awake a patient is. So, there always needs to be someone monitoring vitals to ensure the patient is stable and remains anesthetized.
Being that I got a chipped front tooth in my car accident when I flew thru windshield landing in field and spinal cord injury I would’ve ask to repair mine as well
That’s really cool that this veterinary community is so willing to invite others to assist with difficult/odd procedures. I don’t know if it’s the norm, but it definitely should be. I love learning, and watching/hearing about other people learn is really exciting for me.
Having had a tooth abscess at the root, I can totally empathize with the pain that must have been causing. I guess root canals work on tigers as well. She'll definitely feel better after that.
You guys are hugely knowledgeable in your skill for helping these animals. Hats off from the vets to the animal care takers who are in sync with the tiger to register a concern. Round of applause 👏
While some civilians and vets are busy helping animals around the world , PETA is busy screaming on Twitter in their 10 million dollars office "lEAvE aNImAlS ALoNe"
My parents cat, a big fluffy grey tabby, had a top canine snap off that we didn't notice until feeding him treats and realised that's why he wasn't eating his wet food as much. When he went to the vet, they said the root was exposed and they'd need to remove it. While having surgery they found a huge infection in his top jaw and had to remove other teeth, including his other canine to remove all the infected tissue. He now always gets his top lip stuck on his bottom teeth and always has his tongue poking out. It's super interesting to see it on a super sized moggy. Glad they were able to help her feel better ❤️
remember this is why you do regular visits... im glad its fixed but you as a pet owner have to be responsible enough to do visits.... or atlest get things to clean there teeth.... that cat didnt deserve to go through all that mess plus now has permanent damage....
This kind of medical content is always so fascinating and everyone on deck is always 1000% invested and cares so deeply for the animals' well being and comfort.
OUCH, I feel for the big girl, some things with teeth are so sensitive. Love how worried that zookeeper looked (not that it was fun for her, but her love for the animal is beautiful)
This was all about team work and Dr Chris is there to let us in on the procedure and what goes on behind the scenes. Thank heaven we have those specialist to help animals in need of their education and experience.
It's really awesome to see such genuine love for an animal like this. I wish the world was populated with more folks like this. Be such a better place....
I had a molar split up the middle that hurt like crazy. I can only imagine how she must feel. They are so brave to stick their hands in the mouth. Amazing 👏 Poor thing has seen what rifles can do...no wonder she kept pacing. She is so beautiful!
I've had the same pain in my abscess tooth and it's awful ,just think she couldn't even tell anyone, but it's a good job they keep a careful eye on her so she didn't have to suffer too long .Just think when she notices her tooth no longer hurts she will know that the humans have done something to help her .
Could you imagine if that poor tiger would have been in the wild with that toothache?? Suffering day in and day out with no way of getting medical attention and no way of relieving the awful pain? Thank God she was with humans who love and care for her.
I love cats big and small but tigers are absolutely gorgeous creatures, majestic and cunning. It’s touching when the carer actually cares for every detail of the animals heath n well being. Wow! She’s truly beautiful and her cubs are too. Wonderful work by everyone.
The video is 19 minutes and 29 seconds and I know it took more time and dedication thank you to the team. I know how it feels to have a major toothache! 🙏🏽👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏽🙌🏽
She will feel so much better. There is nothing worse than a toothache! I’ve had my share and I bet her pain is times 10 or more compared to mine. Bless all of you for helping her❤️❤️❤️
I have a miniature Soraya living with me here on an Irish hillside called Millie. Throughout this episode she lay purring across my chest! Never appreciated being well endowed until she made an appearance, last June, in my life. My miniature poodle was stretched across my thighs! How can humans not love these heavenly creatures? 😍
She’s a smart cat. Sad she has to be sedated under such a stressful situation. She knows, but thank goodness she’ll get that painful toothache taken care of.
Watching this video with tears, thank you Australia Zoo and vet team for treat our Sumatran Tiger with respect and love. Believe me Soraya and cub families, you'll always happy and prosperous there. Pleaae, never return to Indonesia. Greetings, Indonesian people who love animals
Tigers are my favorite of all big cats and animals in general. They are beautiful, would love to work around them. Healthy respect for her size and strength. I have had a root canal before and worked for a dentist, they look horrible. Good on Dr Chris.
You are all ABSOLUTELY AMAZING people for doing the work you do! Being able to see the compassion and the love in your hearts for those magnificent animals is tremendously heart warming! I'm not at all for Zoo's etc but, I do understand that wild animals need help from the very thing that threatens them the most! Thank God there are places all over the world to rehabilitate, love, and to be able to care for God's beautiful creatures. Thank you for all that you do! ❤️
You hope and wish that every living being can be given such tremendous compassion and care during such a painful and trying time in their life. These doctors, and animal staff members are truly amazing, and have done such a good deed. God bless them!
Soy odontóloga y nunca había visto un tratamiento endodontico en un tigre! Maravilloso! Felicito a los veterinarios especialistas. Hasta hicieron la reconstrucción posterior con materiales con lámpara. Genial!
I've had a root canal done. This was really neat to see the same procedure being done on one of my favourite animals. I'm sure she felt so much better once all the numbing & anesthesia wore off. But given the significant change to such an important tooth I'm wondering how much it may have affected her ability to eat the way she used to.
I know this is months late but! I wanted to say they have 4 main teeth they use to eat! So really her one is just kinda shaven, still sharp enough to eat some stuff. Maybe not as strong as before but she has the other 3 teeth to make up for it 😊
This video shows just how many people are involved in a procedure like this one. I'd like to give a big shout out to all these wonderful people who are making sure that the anaesthesia is exactly right, so Suraya doesn't feel any pain during the root canal work. I've had 4 of these done and they weren't that bad, but they take a long time to do, and they're not pleasant! Doing 1 root canal on a tiger must be the equivalent of doing about 50 of them on people, plus there's always the possibility that the vet might be attacked! So, apart from the procedure itself, the anaesthetic is the MOST IMPORTANT PART. Love from Amanda in Melbourne, Australia ❤️
They have an impeccable team put together for those tigers. I am so impressed by the professionalism and quality of life! Great job everyone! Thanks for letting us be a part of it too. 😊
17:40 looks like the most huggable Animal in the world right now. Just the relieve and confusion behind those eyes, so cute. The way they Are talking her reminds me of me randomly talking to my dog when she’s just woke up😅

Amazing to watch. It’s so nice to see people. Take such good care of their animals. That’s the way it should be the vet the dentist the doctors amazing job. I love to see there are people that love animals as much as me.♥️♥️🙏 Hope she has a speedy, safe recovery🙏💙♥️
Huh. When Scott over in England operated on a tiger, the staff usually around the tiger had to be away until all was over. To ensure they don't loose the trust of that tiger.
Seriya is probably the most beautiful tiger I have ever seen. And I've seen a few tigers I watch a lot of UA-cam videos but the markings on her face are so awesome! I'm so sorry that she needs a root canal I don't like them for myself!
I made a gold tooth for a tiger here in Dallas they came to the lab and asked if I would do it and it was a pretty big chunk of gold but I was paying like $200 an ounce back then, I should have been buying an ounce every week and putting it back. But they sent me pictures of the tiger once they got the tooth in look pretty wicked to see a tiger with a gold tooth
Amazing and lovingly done care from all involved. ❤ But would it be possible to get behind a "blind" to shoot the anesthesia? Maybe if the tiger didn't see the human, it's stress level wouldn't be so high before the shot. All "kept" animals deserve the treatment we see with BondiVet and those he associates with. There's a special place in heaven for people like these.😇🥰😘
The girl that cares for the tiger and noticed her breathing just warmed my heart: she genuinely cares for the tiger
It's actually her job to check she's still breathing 😅 I mean not saying she doesn't genuinely care, but that's medical necessity
Side note on the other reply during anesthesia breathing can indicate pain levels and how awake a patient is. So, there always needs to be someone monitoring vitals to ensure the patient is stable and remains anesthetized.
Really
It is absolutely apparent the lady who cares for this creature loves them absolutely. I’m so happy to see this miracle.
Absolutely
It is not a miracle.........
Of course i know she cares that's why they are locked in a zoo.

Try having a root canal on BOTH sides of your mouth. It was very irritating and very painful. I was lucky to only have one abscess in my tooth too.
What a beautiful animal

Root canal saved my tooth! Any day, and common to popular misinformation, they Do Not hurt, as the horror stories go.

The answer is pretty simple it would have died
Often tigers with tooth injuries will become unable to hunt their usual prey and will instead shift to eating something easier to catch. Humans
