This was just the stuff in my backpack. A Park's bike multi tool, spare chain link, patch kit, tube, tire levers, Co2 were in my "Get Back" kit under the saddle. It's always there and never changes. Thanks for watching.
Pigsnguns Not a bad choice. I can't think of anything I needed that I didn't pack or would have left out due to weight except more GoPro battery power. I feel better having stuff that I may not need than need it and not have it. Give me an update on your trip when you get back. Ride safe!
Very well thought out and helpful. Thank you. Did you carry your firearm loaded inside the camelbak? I had one of those LCPs and couldn't hit the side of a barn with it at the shooting range, the action on the slide was so stiff I could hardly pull it back, and the grip and sight was just too small to aim accurately. Traded up for an LCR. I little heavier and bigger, but very accurate.
I should probable get one of those wrist things. I used to have one because im allergic to penicillin but it broke like 6 years ago. I started to mtn bike and hurt my self a few times but it would be a good idea to get one, thanks for the reminder dude.
Kurlz It's called a ROAD ID. www.roadid.com They make them in several styles. I won't ride without one. MY buddies know to call my wife but they don't know what drugs I'm allergic to, blood type etc. Those things could help a paramedic save your life.
I don't have that problem. We drive to Colorado from Texas so we acclimate gradually. We did this hike after being there a few days. I also drink a lot more water on the trip as well as I tend to get dehydrated at altitude.
beholderlt Because we are out in the middle on nowhere with lots of rocks, no cell service and no support. This isn't a short hike back to the car and if you tear a tire your vacation is over. Like I said in the vid, not everyone needs to carry a tire but having one can save your trip. I didn't even notice the weight and I was carrying a gun.
Since it is a few years old it may no longer be available. You may try Amazon and Google Camelback Mule NV. They change the colors every year. I picked this color so if I rolled off a cliff they could spot my body. :) Thanks for watching!
what differentiates an american mtb cyclist from a european. A gun and a knife (not the one to peel an apple). Still do not get why someone would carry a gun on a bike trip. Illegal pot farms hahahaha...ok dude. Dont come to Scottish mountains or Alpes though with one of these, people perceive them as aggressive behaviour. Even the knives.
Many MTB'rs riding trails in South Africa have been attacked in the woods. Its very common there to get stabbed or/and mugged there if youre riding an expensive bike. Lots of riders carry pepper spray but its not always enough
Excellent video and a well thought out kit.
Scott
I wish I could go on a epic mountain biking trip or even just a epic hiking trip in the wilderness

Finally someone else who carries a firearm with them! Well played sir.
+gotdrift8 Ditto - Kahr CM40 here
Add me as another one who carries when mountain biking.
good info, my buddies & I are from Garland & we're going on the Dominguez hut to hut trip in June. I'll be taking my 10mm tho

Okay cool thanks bud. Im debating getting my allergy and blood type tattooed on my wrist.
where were you at in western colorado
+Ezra UA-cam Fruita.
What did you guys use for altitude sickness? It seems that when I get to 4000 feet I have a constant headache?

No actual bike tools though? As in spares or multi tools,
All my bike tools and spare parts are all in the seat bag. This is just the stuff in the back pack. Thanks for watching.
lol why am I watching this? I pretty much only do either short downhill runs or enduro rides no longer than 10 miles
Because it's fun King!
TheGoatMumbler 😂 I'll try to do this eventually
why the spare tire? Some tire boots and spare tubes should be more than enough and much lighter.

I can't find this pack in this color do you have a link?

lol had to push my bike for 10 km to learn to pack a spare
tim bum Sorry man. If at least one of the guys in my group on a long epic trip has a spare then I feel pretty good. Two is even better.
Al Gore did not invent the internet lol wtf.
Great video however!!
And Trump is NOT making America great!!! lol

+igeekw2u I'll keep that in mind on my next trip to Scotland.

A firearm? For what? The only dangerous creature on this trek is a human.
Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
Need to pack one when riding trails in South Africa. Not for animals but for the thugs that mug you in the forest!
