Oh. You're playing a fork of Ultimate Edition. What you need to do is search for the Janitorial Closet (some versions rename it to Storage Area 4b), the Level 1 keycard is on the table in there.
There's two other factors to take into consideration when ranking 966; They can open doors for 173 which could really fuck your run over They deplete your stamina permanently, unless you use an instance of 500, and even if you were to use a sgm you'd still be really sluggish. Other than that, I personally would put the 049 chamber higher just because I personally have trouble on Keter as most of the time 173 will be down there (although, you could blink until it reveals itself and keep looking in its direction while flipping the levers and picking up the 4 card to avoid getting your neck snapped), and also, in 106's pd I find the pendulum path easier than the trenches. But other than that, I agree with the ranking.
I must have gotten lucky with 049’s chamber I played through keter mode several times for this vid and 173 was only down there once. Also yeah the pendulum room is definitely the more efficient escape route I’m just too much of a scrub to get the timing right so I usually end up dying.
As a speedrunner i can agree with almost all of this,difficult ones are always luck dependent,if you get unlucky they are "Youre gonna die moments" but other than that they are always avoidable. Only one i can disagree with would be the 049 chamber,i would put it in difficult but everyone has their own difficult parts about this game
I only actually played through the keter mode a handful of times for this vid, though i did each encounter multiple times. I never died in 049’s chamber but maybe I just got lucky or something. I definitely want to look into speedruns more as thats a part of the community i don’t know much about.

This is because, if SCP-173 is already inside the room and you go inside, the lights turning off cause a guaranteeddeath. I'm curious whether or not you would tie this situation to a random spawn of SCP-173, or connect it more to the lights turning off, given that that's the main event in the room.
@aceraddo2556 that happens to me every time and while you can still "look" at him it can be tricky to find where he is in the first place and then pull the lever while also looking at him
SCP-966 are easy to survive but in my opinion they are the most annoying scp in the entire game, I literally will actively avoid corners rooms in hcz just so I dont have to activate them😭😭.
The tricky thing about 106 is if you don’t have 1499, you have to drop EVERYTHING the second he shows up. Could be a skill issue but I have terrible luck with his Pocket Dimension Roulette™️.

fun fact: 966 instances don’t start chasing you until your stamina is low, they also can’t increase your blink and stamina usage after they start chasing you.
for SCP-966, couldn't really understand in your explanation on when they will attack. basically you can stand near them for as long as you want but just don't run near them for few minutes otherwise they will start chasing
966s will only attack after a couple of minutes of your first encounter with them. Basically, the first time you encounter them they transmit you a virus that cuts your max stamina and blink duration (it's because of 966's lore). After a couple of minutes they will begin to attack because D-9341 should be almost passing out from exhaustion because of the virus.
I would have put 966 in "you're gonna die", not because they are actually going to kill you, but because if they exist in your general vicinity, they will make your entire endurance bar consume instantly upon sprinting, for the rest of the entire game, unless you use the super gas mask. On top of being extremely annoying, it means running away from 106 is basically impossible, going around 173 can be much trickier, and NTF will be harder to evade.
If the rules don't disallow the use of SCP-500, then that's the workaround. You will get infected by the 966's virus again but if 106 spawns, you can just take the 500 to regain your maximum stamina for the chase.
For me NTF is just nuts, they are relatevely easy to avoid, but its impossible to get through them, i tried once, and sit in some room for 15 minutes, and they stayed in place until i get out and they can kill me. Theirs AI is configured to chase you at all costs if you in some radius of them, but they couldnt make a path to me in that room
Wait, you can escape 106's pocket dimension? That means my save where I'm cornered by 106 and I'm 1 second away from being killed/taken to pocket dimension is not lost!

I personally find 049 encounters the hardest but that’s probably because I didn’t have a PC when I got the game so I had to lay that janky mobile port where stuff doesn’t seem to despawn and they target you through walls and forever and where sometimes walls just, cut off vital hallways lmao
I'll use translator so sorry if there are any grammar mistakes Aside from the "not being able to use items" a run in keter is ruined for me by one thing, random spawn 173 is unpredictable and tends to spawn inconsistently, maintenance tunnels are a "you're going to die" for me, because you can be crossing a hallway and 173 will just spawn behind you and kill you, many times you see him from afar and if he doesn't detect you, he'll leave and within seconds he can teleport anywhere and if you don't know where he is, and you don't look in his direction, you die. avoiding 106. 049, NTF and others is one thing, but the game deciding to spawn 173 in the most awkward way possible is just frustrating for me. by the way, I agree with practically your entire tierlist.
Pocket dimension in fact is super easy, you pretty much always get the room with moving stones, which can be dodged every time cuz its have same pattern every time, in the red room with 4 path you can see where are you going, and choose the right path (with moving stones, of course) and then you will be 100% spawn in 106 chamber and recontain him
Random 096 spawns are the bane of me, I often do make the mistake of leaving a few doors open and sometimes he'll be in the darkness, not even audible, but I hear the 096 triggered sound after I look down a dark hall and realise I messed up
I wish Regalis updated the pathing on the NTF guards. The NTF guards if they did get updated would feel more like a threat to you than an inconvenience, they always get stuck in walls and doors and sometimes block your only exit making you have to restart which can screw up keter runs quickly
I was watching one of my friends play SCP Containmnet Breach. They where in the 860 dimension. Then SCP -06 spawned there. He really does spawn absaloutely everywhere.
173 in 049s Chamber is singlehandedly one of the biggest run enders on Keter. He always spawns there, and you don't know where he is, unless he's out in the open. Otherwise you just take a gamble on looking in the right direction. It's 50/50. Definitely You're Gonna Die tier. If you played enough Keter, you would know this.
I had a run where I was too slow at some point and the 966 managed to follow me through the whole facility. I swear every time I escaped them, through changing floors or locking every door I came across, they would pop up again in the next room. I couldn't escape.
this video is pretty great, alth what i would do is to chop the script into several parts, and read them, when u stutter or something, just do it again, and stitch it back in a video editing software
17:12 if u actually played keter like you bragged about in the beginning of the video, You would know that 049 basement is one of the hardest parts of the entire game bc 173 spawns in there basically every time. The way you describe it sounds like you were playing on euclid, which is when the encounter is not hard. Also, unrelated, I typically escape the pocket dimension pretty easily its only hard if you can't heal yourself right after, and random 106 spawns are quite difficult if you have no super gas mask. I would have put random 106 above pocket dimension and 049 basement much higher since we're talking keter... other than that i agree with pretty much everything
Ah, I didn’t know that! I was playing on keter, which I don’t usually play on but I played through it a few times for the video. I don’t recall bragging about playing keter, again, I usually don’t play on keter I just wanted to play on the hardest difficulty so that the tier list could be as accurate as possible. As I said in the video, even with 173 in 049’s chamber, it’s still not that hard. It’s full of long tunnels which make it easy to avoid getting killed by 173.
safe: easy to put in a chamber Euclid: average to put in a chamber keter: hard to put in a chamber Thaumiel: cannot be put in a chamber, and we are all gonna die
... Okay, so, we have a newbie here. Let's not be rude, this is an opportunity to learn. Safe: Will stay contained if left alone. Euclid: Unpredictable, active measures have to be done to keep it contained. Keter: Uncontained, but controllable/Breaches often, and extremely tedious to contain. Thaumiel: Helps in the containment of SCPs. Apollyon: cannot be put in a chamber, and we are all gonna die
I’d argue that 049’s containment chamber should be in difficult. Might be a skill issue for me but a lot of my keter runs have ended in there because 173 always spawns there. I’ve rarely had a keter run where he wasn’t in there. Managing him while also trying to turn the switches off, on top of managing your blink can sometimes cause an unfortunate death.
173 random spawns in the 939 maintenance tunnels are ridiculously difficult. Trying to sneak to avoid 939 while trying to make distance from 173 means you’re going to die 9/10 times.
I personally don't think a random 173 spawn can 100% be a run killer. A trick I learned was blinking before you open a door, and if you hear stone moving (its very very quiet), 173 is most likely in that room/corner. It's still a pain in the ass for sure, but I wouldn't say a 100% you're going to die every time.
I'm going to give my opinion on each and because I speedrun the game I'm going to take into consideration how difficult each encounter is when I'm playing casually: 173 Random Spawns: Agree on the tier, because you can have it spawn on places you don't expect him to be since you saw him 2 rooms ago. And if you are not careful enough, you might die because your blinking meter runs out. SCP-860-2: I think it's even more difficult than 173 Random Spawns, and reason is pretty simple. Even with a Super Gas Mask, if it spawns, you are just dead. SCP-860-2 runs faster than the player so it's a guaranteed death. Maintenance Tunnels: I'd put it on You're Dead. The reason is pretty simple, not only 106 and 966 can spawn there, but so does 173. And if you are unlucky and get 106 and 173 down there, your chances of survival are next to 0% because not only you have to pay attention to not die to 173 but you have to try to not lose sight of 106. Pocket Dimension: Agree on the tier. Something you missed though, when you are on the pocket dimension you are consistently taking damage. And, if you take too long to get out, 106 will spawn and if he catches you, you'll die. So, not only you have to pray to get out of the pocket dimension at first try, but you can't take too long on it. NTF: I would put it on You're Dead or on max Difficult. Not only you can get one-shotted by them, but they can actually make you either wait 10 minutes for them to move away from a place you can't get out because there is 2 NTFs on the next room and another one on the room before, or, you can just pray to sprint without getting killed. NTF is a gigantic run killer tbh. Random 106 Spawns: It depends. If you are not on the basement, Maintenance Tunnels or the Omega Warhead Silo, it's quite trivial because you can just run to the nearest Tesla Gate to get rid of him. And, you have enough time to explore the Light Containment Zone to see if there's any there. If there is at least one, when he spawns, just run to it. Random 049 Spawns: I'd put it near NTF. The reason is pretty simple, since one of the rules is that we can't use items that decrease or nullify the challenge, then we can't use SCP-714. And, if you are unlucky he will spawn in a room next to you where you will have a lot of difficulty going around him. 049's Chamber: Agree on the tier. And as you said, if 173 spawns there it becomes really tricky to not killed. Red Gas Room: I'd put it on easy. If you are playing casually here's a quick trick: Open the door, get to the entrance of it, move backwards, wait for the door to close, after the door closes, blink a couple of times. If 173 is there, usually, it will be at the door and then you can just bait it out of the red room. 939 Basement: I'd put it on trivial. Here's the thing about the basement, if you want to go through it with the highest chance of survival, just crouch, whenever you hear one of the 939's speak just stop. If you can see it move backwards to create distance so it can move again. CCTV Room: Trivial to me. The reason is pretty simple, you can stealth it out. If you pull the lever and then hide behind the desk, 049 should not see you. He will do a monologue and then he will go away. Something to keep in mind is that 049 will always come through the right door of the CCTV corridor. Server Farm: Agree with the tier. A quick tip is this: If you are on the catwalk on the top of the server room, blink a couple of times, with some luck you will see 173 and get a perception of where it is. Lights Off Hall: Trivial. There's a "glitch" that can happen tho, where if 173 is in the room before you enter this hall and you go to the hall, you will die because you are forced to "blink". SCP-966 Spawns: To be honest, trivial to me. They take some time to begin their attacks and you always receive the text before (even though sometimes it's like 2 seconds before they attack). They can sometimes block you which is annoying but it's never a challenge. Random 096's Spawns: Trivial. You can hear it cry in a distance of 2 rooms (if I recall correctly) so you can prepare yourself to look down when approaching it's location. SCP-008 Room: Trivial. With me, 173 only jumps out of the window if you don't have the hazmat suit. If he jumps out even when you have the hazmat suit then I don't know, it never happened to me. Gas Catwalk: Agree. And you can even do a check to see if 173 is there. When you enter this room, blink once, if 173 is there it usually moves to the middle of the catwalk. T-Shaped Red Room: Once again, agree. It's not hard to go through this room. 096 Server Room: Agree. I think it's more annoying when 096 blocks your away, but that's the thing, it's annoying not difficult. 1048-A: Agree. It's annoying if you take a bit longer and the screen gets a bit blurry, but once again it's just annoying not difficult.

I'm accustomed to play on Safe, and the few times I've played on Keter I've had my playthroughs ruined because of them. There was this one time where the only place I could go was to a dead end (one of the red rooms that lead nowhere), and guess what. 106 decided to spawn and give me 5 seconds on the PD before spawning again and killing me ^^'
In one of my playthroughs I also got that situation where I was forced to go into 860-1 multiple times due to the map generation. Plus the fact I didn't know the door codes. And it was hell going through there each time since even with the super gas mask I still got unlucky and died a few times.
15:34 I disagree with the 096 server one. In keter difficulty, it's very likely that peanut also spawns in the server room, basically multiplying the difficulty by a million.
What about the one in heavy containment when 106 crosses the hallway and begins chasing you I just survived that the first time he trapped me in an elevator. The second time I managed to play a ring the around Rosie and survive.

049’s chamber is really easy, i just shut the zombies in the generator room and the only time i had a problem was when 173 was in the elevator, and i had to restart. The next time when I got out of his chamber, 173 and 966 were blocking the exit to the elevator and i got fried
966 maybe a minor threat but those little pieces of **** can go die in a hole, they are the most annoying thing in the entire game the zubats of SCP:CB if you will in that they'll be everywhere and all up in your face. Just after I finished healing myself with a medkit and can finally walk a little better, these guys whilst invisible will just slash me and I have to do the whole thing all over again... Sorry but I hate them so much I had to talk about it, they are the flipping worst. 106 is annoying at times but you can use the teleporting gas mask to despawn him or you can at least contain him but these guys are constant and I despies them. And if that's not bad enough sometimes they can literally just randomly spawn in a room that they were not in before! meaning you can check for them with the goggles and STILL get hit by them! but in rare occasions obviously.

I wish Regalis updated the pathing on the NTF guards. The NTF guards if they did get updated would feel more like a threat to you than an inconvenience, they always get stuck in walls and doors and sometimes block your only exit making you have to restart which can screw up keter runs quickly

I was watching one of my friends play SCP Containmnet Breach. They where in the 860 dimension. Then SCP -06 spawned there. He really does spawn absaloutely everywhere.
Either that or he wasn’t supposed to spawn there but there was a glitch. I’m not certain.
I think the worst bug is when 049 likes to just spawn a few feet away from you in an enclosed space (I.E 05 room, 357, and so on.)
173 in 049s Chamber is singlehandedly one of the biggest run enders on Keter. He always spawns there, and you don't know where he is, unless he's out in the open. Otherwise you just take a gamble on looking in the right direction. It's 50/50. Definitely You're Gonna Die tier.
If you played enough Keter, you would know this.
I had a run where I was too slow at some point and the 966 managed to follow me through the whole facility. I swear every time I escaped them, through changing floors or locking every door I came across, they would pop up again in the next room. I couldn't escape.
this video is pretty great, alth what i would do is to chop the script into several parts, and read them, when u stutter or something, just do it again, and stitch it back in a video editing software

I can say this from experience: that claim is far too true. I can still remember the 106, 173, 096, 049, 173(2) and 966 incident.
It turns out I found a lot of things like the super gas masks and the hands that just make things easier without knowing what they where
17:12 if u actually played keter like you bragged about in the beginning of the video, You would know that 049 basement is one of the hardest parts of the entire game bc 173 spawns in there basically every time. The way you describe it sounds like you were playing on euclid, which is when the encounter is not hard. Also, unrelated, I typically escape the pocket dimension pretty easily its only hard if you can't heal yourself right after, and random 106 spawns are quite difficult if you have no super gas mask. I would have put random 106 above pocket dimension and 049 basement much higher since we're talking keter... other than that i agree with pretty much everything
Ah, I didn’t know that! I was playing on keter, which I don’t usually play on but I played through it a few times for the video. I don’t recall bragging about playing keter, again, I usually don’t play on keter I just wanted to play on the hardest difficulty so that the tier list could be as accurate as possible. As I said in the video, even with 173 in 049’s chamber, it’s still not that hard. It’s full of long tunnels which make it easy to avoid getting killed by 173.

I’d argue that 049’s containment chamber should be in difficult. Might be a skill issue for me but a lot of my keter runs have ended in there because 173 always spawns there. I’ve rarely had a keter run where he wasn’t in there. Managing him while also trying to turn the switches off, on top of managing your blink can sometimes cause an unfortunate death.
173 random spawns in the 939 maintenance tunnels are ridiculously difficult. Trying to sneak to avoid 939 while trying to make distance from 173 means you’re going to die 9/10 times.

I personally don't think a random 173 spawn can 100% be a run killer. A trick I learned was blinking before you open a door, and if you hear stone moving (its very very quiet), 173 is most likely in that room/corner. It's still a pain in the ass for sure, but I wouldn't say a 100% you're going to die every time.
I'm going to give my opinion on each and because I speedrun the game I'm going to take into consideration how difficult each encounter is when I'm playing casually:
173 Random Spawns: Agree on the tier, because you can have it spawn on places you don't expect him to be since you saw him 2 rooms ago. And if you are not careful enough, you might die because your blinking meter runs out.
SCP-860-2: I think it's even more difficult than 173 Random Spawns, and reason is pretty simple. Even with a Super Gas Mask, if it spawns, you are just dead. SCP-860-2 runs faster than the player so it's a guaranteed death.
Maintenance Tunnels: I'd put it on You're Dead. The reason is pretty simple, not only 106 and 966 can spawn there, but so does 173. And if you are unlucky and get 106 and 173 down there, your chances of survival are next to 0% because not only you have to pay attention to not die to 173 but you have to try to not lose sight of 106.
Pocket Dimension: Agree on the tier. Something you missed though, when you are on the pocket dimension you are consistently taking damage. And, if you take too long to get out, 106 will spawn and if he catches you, you'll die. So, not only you have to pray to get out of the pocket dimension at first try, but you can't take too long on it.
NTF: I would put it on You're Dead or on max Difficult. Not only you can get one-shotted by them, but they can actually make you either wait 10 minutes for them to move away from a place you can't get out because there is 2 NTFs on the next room and another one on the room before, or, you can just pray to sprint without getting killed. NTF is a gigantic run killer tbh.
Random 106 Spawns: It depends. If you are not on the basement, Maintenance Tunnels or the Omega Warhead Silo, it's quite trivial because you can just run to the nearest Tesla Gate to get rid of him. And, you have enough time to explore the Light Containment Zone to see if there's any there. If there is at least one, when he spawns, just run to it.
Random 049 Spawns: I'd put it near NTF. The reason is pretty simple, since one of the rules is that we can't use items that decrease or nullify the challenge, then we can't use SCP-714. And, if you are unlucky he will spawn in a room next to you where you will have a lot of difficulty going around him.
049's Chamber: Agree on the tier. And as you said, if 173 spawns there it becomes really tricky to not killed.
Red Gas Room: I'd put it on easy. If you are playing casually here's a quick trick: Open the door, get to the entrance of it, move backwards, wait for the door to close, after the door closes, blink a couple of times. If 173 is there, usually, it will be at the door and then you can just bait it out of the red room.
939 Basement: I'd put it on trivial. Here's the thing about the basement, if you want to go through it with the highest chance of survival, just crouch, whenever you hear one of the 939's speak just stop. If you can see it move backwards to create distance so it can move again.
CCTV Room: Trivial to me. The reason is pretty simple, you can stealth it out. If you pull the lever and then hide behind the desk, 049 should not see you. He will do a monologue and then he will go away. Something to keep in mind is that 049 will always come through the right door of the CCTV corridor.
Server Farm: Agree with the tier. A quick tip is this: If you are on the catwalk on the top of the server room, blink a couple of times, with some luck you will see 173 and get a perception of where it is.
Lights Off Hall: Trivial. There's a "glitch" that can happen tho, where if 173 is in the room before you enter this hall and you go to the hall, you will die because you are forced to "blink".
SCP-966 Spawns: To be honest, trivial to me. They take some time to begin their attacks and you always receive the text before (even though sometimes it's like 2 seconds before they attack). They can sometimes block you which is annoying but it's never a challenge.
Random 096's Spawns: Trivial. You can hear it cry in a distance of 2 rooms (if I recall correctly) so you can prepare yourself to look down when approaching it's location.
SCP-008 Room: Trivial. With me, 173 only jumps out of the window if you don't have the hazmat suit. If he jumps out even when you have the hazmat suit then I don't know, it never happened to me.
Gas Catwalk: Agree. And you can even do a check to see if 173 is there. When you enter this room, blink once, if 173 is there it usually moves to the middle of the catwalk.
T-Shaped Red Room: Once again, agree. It's not hard to go through this room.
096 Server Room: Agree. I think it's more annoying when 096 blocks your away, but that's the thing, it's annoying not difficult.
1048-A: Agree. It's annoying if you take a bit longer and the screen gets a bit blurry, but once again it's just annoying not difficult.
Thanks for this perspective! As I said in the video I am a very casual gamer so it's interesting to see a different perspective. I can see how NTF would be very annoying in speedruns.

I'm accustomed to play on Safe, and the few times I've played on Keter I've had my playthroughs ruined because of them. There was this one time where the only place I could go was to a dead end (one of the red rooms that lead nowhere), and guess what. 106 decided to spawn and give me 5 seconds on the PD before spawning again and killing me ^^'

In one of my playthroughs I also got that situation where I was forced to go into 860-1 multiple times due to the map generation. Plus the fact I didn't know the door codes. And it was hell going through there each time since even with the super gas mask I still got unlucky and died a few times.

049’s chamber is really easy, i just shut the zombies in the generator room and the only time i had a problem was when 173 was in the elevator, and i had to restart. The next time when I got out of his chamber, 173 and 966 were blocking the exit to the elevator and i got fried

966 maybe a minor threat but those little pieces of **** can go die in a hole, they are the most annoying thing in the entire game the zubats of SCP:CB if you will in that they'll be everywhere and all up in your face. Just after I finished healing myself with a medkit and can finally walk a little better, these guys whilst invisible will just slash me and I have to do the whole thing all over again...
Sorry but I hate them so much I had to talk about it, they are the flipping worst. 106 is annoying at times but you can use the teleporting gas mask to despawn him or you can at least contain him but these guys are constant and I despies them. And if that's not bad enough sometimes they can literally just randomly spawn in a room that they were not in before! meaning you can check for them with the goggles and STILL get hit by them! but in rare occasions obviously.
