Just an incredible performance by everyone! After re-watching the 1971 video of Rod it's uncanny how well Tib nails Rod's look as well as vocal style, and Singit Live's talented multi-instrumentalist Mr. Stuart Day's mandolin and Shaun's guitar perfectly recreate the signature sound of "Maggie May".

This is me quite raw, ‘warts & all’, bung notes included with no fancy vocal effects! 😂 It was deliberately made to sound like Rod’s earlier albums. Rod Stewart is almost impossible to interpret, a truely unique artist! This put me way out of my comfort zone, so thanks everyone for all the love & support! I do understand the negative comments also! 😜 ❤

Tib great cover. Loved the discussion about learning songs and recording them. I am not a pro but I do a lot of UA-cam recordings just to keep my voice up. Also what I find is when I am given the opportunity to do a song with some band. They say do you know this song. Many times I have recorded a version and can pull it off at a high level. Doing it exactly like the artist forget about it. So if that is what they want…I am out. That is why I like jazz bands. You can do whatever as long as it works.

This my all time favorite song .I heard it when I was five yrs old.Ive been obsessed with Rod ever since .When I was a teen I had the record size album of YoungTurks hung over my bed! Rods music will never go out of style ! He’s amazing!

Digging deeper back through the years this week. A classic song that's hard to emulate (not copy as that's not what we do here). Have to give a massive shout out to Shaun's solo on the White Ranger followed by Stuart's on the mandolin. Most excellent, dudes! Tib really shines with a different type of track to his usual ones. I doubt anyone could get their voice as raspy as Rod's. The testosterone level in the basement is on overload. Crafty's BTS video is an excellent watch as always. Kudos from Matty x

The thing I LOVE most about Sing It Live, and HSCC, is the fact that they replicate the feel of each songs "voice" while maintaining their signature style. You immediately recognize the similarity of songs sound, while noticing that they aren't here to be a Cover band doing a Karaoke performance. As a musician myself, I appreciate how they regularly take a song and make it look simple, even when they are very complex! You are all inspiring artists and AWE INSPIRING in your musicianship. Great cover! Very difficult to replicate Sir Rod's voice. Also, this has one of the greatest uses of mandolin in a rock song!🤘😎

What a classic and joyful song to wake up to on a horrible Saturday morning in the UK. Absolutely amazing playing by everyone in the room and have to say I think this is the best I have heard Tib sing in all the covers he has done with Singit Live, so well done to all. Special mention must also to Stuart Day as this song wouldn't be the same without that mandolin being played the way it has. Just got to go and watch Crafty's channel now!!

Hello Sing It Live! I am back after a long time to leave you all some kind words. This violin playing man enjoyed this wonderful classic. What I find highly unique was that you sir, singing lead vocals, not only nailed this track perfectly but you reminded me of a fusion of Jon Bon Jovi and Rod Stewart combined. I really imagined Jon Bon Jovi doing this song as well while at the same time I could hear your own voice. I think that's incredible, and what a trip man, you sang it perfectly and I thank you and everyone for such a great performance. I don't think I have actually tried doing this on violin but I could it, and I think I will for fun. I like the little guitar intro and outro, forgive I yet again forgot the proper name of that instrument, I should know I'm a string player myself lol.

@@singitliveworld A mandolin, okay. Thanks again for clarifying that for me. I have never really known anyone personally to have played it. For me it's one of those instruments I rarely have seen except in your groups performances. Anytime I have ever played with other people in church for example, I am the only stringed instrument with others in the congregation while the rest are playing non stringed instruments besides piano. We haven't had a mandolin player although it would be a nice addition. I enjoy playing church hymns as well.
