My name is WesTheTech and I'm a music producer and recording artist who owns his own music business and recording studio. I am an expert at making hip-hop music as well as running a successful full-time business. Have you ever dreamed about doing music full-time? What’s stopping you? Is it that day job you have? Is it those endless bills? Or maybe you just don’t know how to make that dream become a reality?
I completely understand. I had those same problems as well. Back in 2011, my first independent music career failed. All I wanted to do was music full-time, but I didn't know how to successfully accomplish that. Like most unsuccessful artists, I went back to working a regular job. After years of working at that job, I realized through God's teachings that the reason I wasn't doing music full-time was because I wasn't working towards that goal every day.
I realized that there were not going to be any shortcuts to this. I needed to figure out how to (1) make more money "legally" and (2) invest money in the RIGHT places so that I could successfully build an independent music business from the ground up. After a few years of figuring those things out, I was able to quit my job and do music full-time.
And now I want to show you how to do the same thing. And that's why I created WesTheTech Productions, a company that empowers independent recording artists to build a full-time music business so they no longer have to work outside of their craft.
Finally, you'll be able to quit your job. Finally, you'll be able to wake up every day and do music full-time. Finally, you'll be able to travel and perform at events. Finally, you will have your own independent music business.

Hi, how can I upload for artist?
Hey I just uploaded my first song thru distrokid and I wanted to make an Apple Music artist account and Spotify account would I have to wait until it goes live for my account to show or do I make it before it goes live?
Great question! You have to wait until it goes live. Once it’s live you will be able to claim both on Distrokid. I did a “How-To” video for both, but it’s the same process! Hope this helps. Thanks for watching! 💯✊🏿
on distrokid, it doesn't give me option to select artist, it also says this on Apple music for artists: "Can’t Add Artist
You’re only able to add artists who are the primary artist on at least one song in Apple Music. The artist you’re looking for may only be a featured artist on all available songs and albums." #help
I have the same problem too
I have a question, I don't upload anithing to distrokid, but when I'm going to, appears to me something called the artist mapping and I have to put there my Spotify and apple profile. The problem is that I have an Spotify profile but not an apple one, and I don't want to upload the music on Apple, what can I do? Thanks
That's a great question! When it comes to Distrokid, you have full control over what stores to distribute your music to. You can pick the specific stores you want directly from the upload page. Now as far as your Spotify account goes, it's perfectly fine to already have an account. But you should definitely link your Spotify account to your Distrokid by linking your "Spotify for Artists" profile. Hey man! I’m a little late to this video. So I recently got distrokid today and uploaded a few tracks but it will take a few days for them to be published. When they get published will an apple artist account be automatically made for me? I cannot find my name under the “find artist” tab so I can only assume when they go live thru distrokid, I will be able to find my Apple artist account and log in. (I already have an Apple ID and everything) Hopefully this makes and sense and thank you!

have a little issue and don't know how that's is going to be solve, I have already claimed my artist account before with my old iCloud but it was disabled so is there a way I can gain access back in my artist account?

Good question. Unfortunately there isn’t. Either you pay upfront or you pay in royalty percentage (which is worse imo) Hope this answers your question and Ghana’s for watching 💯✊🏿
Help please, i'm trying to login with my apple account to get access but then it says I do not have any artist name ?
I would double check to see if my music is even showing up on Apple Music first. If it is, make sure it’s the same name
There’s no drop-down menu to select my artist name in the goodies section

Whenever I sign in with my apple account it takes me to a different page that says Request Artist Access... Find and Artist and its not immediatly letting me connect the accounts what do I do?
It might be having trouble finding your page. Did you release a song yet? And if so, are there other artists with the same artist name as yours?

@@WesTheTech im having the same problem. I released a song and selected "Apple Music" when I released it alongw ith Spotify. I was able to set up spotify and it is live there however, when I try to gain access to the Apple Music Artist profile, it takes me to a page which says "Request Artist Acess" and it shows a ton of artists who have similar names as me when I search it up, none of which are associated with me. And there is no other option from there.

I did this and i get the FIND ARTIST section which ask for the link to the artist profile on Apple Music, so I do that and paste the link when prompted to and get and error message every time saying "We’re having trouble searching for artists right now. Try again later." please HELP!!

@@WesTheTech I'm having the same issue as well. Both web (Windows) and app (Ipad Pro) don't show my artist page, and will give the "We’re having trouble searching for artists right now. Try again later." prompt after searching with my Apple Music URL. If you do happen to find the answer -- do let us know! I don't have an iPhone though
