This song has been jammed in my head since childhood alongside that one opening vocal piece for Zone of the Enders. It's weird and otherworldly, like I'm playing a game from another dimension.
I keep coming back to it because I mentally play it in my head and then have to come back to listen to it. Then my head just plays the voice of the old man who tells me to get away from him 'cause of the mark on my hand.
The varying spikes in guitar distortion really add to the atmosphere. It's odd to call such a bold effect subtle, but I think they just about managed it.
