I think if your reviewing a game of this type, you need to include a section that covers the currencies in the game and any pay-to-play system that these games seem to always have. You know the 'pay 10 special currency to start this battle' and the game gives you like 100 a day and if you want to play more, you gotta pay

This is definitely my favourite mobile games and I’m extremely excited to see what they do with WuWa. My only issue with PGR is the story, and by that I don’t mean how it’s told, my problem is it has no VA. For someone like me who finds it hard to focus reading a story with either no audio or images that show what’s happening like in a manga, I find it hard to do the story in a single sitting, requiring me to force myself to play a single chapter over the course of multiple periods, which even after I finish, I forgot most of what happened in the chapter. I played since launch and genuinely enjoyed the first 8 chapters and bosses, as rough as they were lol. Very nice review, thank you for your free marketing service, commandant 👏
Same, the first 8 chapters was actually what hooked me in totally especially Kamui's character arc xD But I get what others are saying 'cause I played at launch and didn't know what to expect, so maybe that's why it was more fresh and enjoyable to me. Now that people know the recent writing is good, of course it feels drastically off when starting those early chapters. That's just my guess though. Love PGR at any phase
I started to play a month ago thanks to another content creator and I am OBSSESED with the game in general, it's super fun to play, and I am loving the story, even if it starts slowly, I like the writting, so it's ok for me. Thanks for this video, it really helps me to see another's people opinion on it.
I've been on the game for more than 2 weeks now, have watched videos for new players like myself to help me better understand how the game works and to progress the right way. Have stopped continuing story of Kamui and have focused on farming in the new event for easy 6 star memories.
My favorite so far is definitely Lucia, in which I use her crimson abyss frame. Ever since I found out about her new frame(crimson weave) I've done nothing but save black cards and have spent only beginner tickets.
As one of the comment i saw somewhere, it feels like chapter 1-8 was meant to be voice acted but after getting some feedback they decided to throw it all the windows and focused more on light novel feels
I've just had my first birthday playing this game. It really is f2p-friendly. If you only focus on newly released characters, you can afford them all without paying a dime. For those you like best, you can ugrade them to SS, which usually makes them play smoother. Meanwhile, going into SSS is simply going into whale territory wherein it's mostly about damage numbers. If your aim is to have fun playing around with all the constructs' varied playstyles and collect waifus and husbandos, then you can't go wrong with PGR. I don't regret picking it up one bit and can't wait for Alpha Crimson Weave in about a month.
10:48 For new and f2p I would like to say that do not pull on the new Ayla banner. She is free just do the event. Save for the next banner instead. I know that it is just for the video but damn it hurts my soul a bit when I saw this. You could pull if you want, I don't decide on what you should pull or not just telling players about things that they might not know.
there are 2 gacha games that truly don't feel like gacha games but like actual games plastered with a gacha system on them pgr and arknights despite arknights having over 200+ operators and looking like your average gacha game with no actual gameplay, it is easily the hardest gacha game and one of if not the most enjoyable gacha game in terms of gameplay despite being a 2d tower defense, as it takes nearly everything you know about tower defense, and chucks it out of the window, then throws at you a bunch of bs mechanics and gimmicks that make you lose your irl sanity, just like how sanity is the stamina of arknights the story of arknights is also easily one of the best in gachas while also being praised by an award winning writer alongside another fact that arknights has like the most amount of content in a gacha game
I am a few days new, you're overview was very well thought out. Its very overwhelming right now, but so is any other game that has been updated for 3 years. The combat makes me very sad I spend so much time in some other games, where your only choice is to fight pretty much in the same fashion over and over.
I started pgr today , the story is pretty dark and pretty good, the combat is amazing, so many characters and they all play different, the animations and combos are top notch , there are so many events to fight and test yourself, and they give you quite a lot of free stuff, i love it
This is a good review, while i have been playing this game on and off. I recommend grinding the game out till next week so the actual battle goddess will come out 👍
after reaching a certain progress this game becomes really life friendly, the time needed to do everything is not much if you don't want the highest possible score.
I got into this game 6 days ago and I'm already level 53. Like even Genshin Impact or Honkai Impact 3rd didn't get me this hooked until way later. Got into it cuz I saw Mtashed play it and the fast paced combat actually gave me a rush just watching the gameplay. I found myself researching banners and getting familiar with the systems via yt vids while it was installing... No regrets. Although I wish the story had VA
This... this is GOLD. KuroGames, the player is doing the promotion for you 😂 I think we need more of these types of video to get the name of PGR out there. Kidding aside, this is some highly informative video! The format is great and the script is easy to follow. I was just chuckling the whole time, and that Ice Team vs Gabriel fight was a banger dude!
Im pretty new to PGR, only about a week in, but im absolutely loving it! The only thing about PGR that im not fond of is how expensive each pull is in the event you do want to buy some. The 2 point exchange is kinda annoying and misleading, but understandably, the pity is much lower than most gachas. Spending $20 USD for 4 pulls, which if you only get resources, would have been better spent re-uping your serum and farming them yourself. But i guess that in a sense that's a good thing, encouraging most players to play to earn the characters they want rather than just outright buy them.
@@M16_Akula-III yeah, thanks to the guide system I'm like level 69 now. Still not that knowledgeable about the game, but I've been really enjoying those game modes. And since I got her in my first pull, managed to get LCW to SS yesterday!
this is probably the only gacha game that I've played where I have every unit in the game be it Uns or Omns with only spending worth 3 monthly passes, heck I've even took a break for several months
Downloaded the game yesterday and have no idea how to actually play (still). lol Tried doing the character tutorial with Bianca-Stigmata and the 6-ping system is not explained at all here. Visual learning is 100% the way because I'm looking up tutorials now on it just to understand how to set it all up. Cool video, Angel! Thank you!
for those who are starting now the story gets very interesting from chapter 11 and forward. 8,9,10 and even 11 are still rather boring. Then the writting improves, the music improves, the game improves. You forget that you are playing the same game as before. Be patient, don't rush. upgrade your lvl, your characters lvl, fix your teams, play with the dorm. And in the boss fights from 11 and so on, play while having headphones on. Enjoy it as you would enjoy a book. Get comfortable , relax, read away. It's visual novel heavy Try getting back on Wuwa then...Dreamless ost and boss fight was nice, but....In PGR when the ost "Dust" hits in Ch. 11 (i think) you pause just to listen to the music
While its super fun(new player), the explanations for things were a bit lacking. Learnt more about the battle system from you than the game 😂 Thanks for the awesome review!
Yes, it is very F2P friendly. Because the top up can coughed your blood everytime to did it. But again, I prefer this. Making you feel like “yeah, I pay them to support their work”
I love this game, my only complaint is there's too many different menus to collect items, like I love free shit but having to click around 10 different menus to get the free shit kinda sucks, my only real critique.
Only been playing for a few days but it’s amazing. Early story boring asl but I’m exited for when it gets good. The combat is absolutely amazing, it’s snappy and satisfying and actually has skill. The game is also super generous like I already have the characters I like and want within like a week.
I've been playing PGR for about 1-2 years now and I mostly agree with you. The combat system, the characters, the sfx, the soundtracks, the boss fights etc. are all very good and in my opinion the greatest strengths of PGR, including the gacha system. What I would like to add, however, would be the events or event modes that we get with every patch, which unfortunately for the most part are hardly fun or aren't particularly creative. Apart from the very bad and buggy Noan survival mode, which I think 90% of players skipped or solved with UA-cam videos, unfortunately most event modes are not particularly fun or creative. Aether Gazer, for example, although it has roughly the same combat system, does this much better because the event modes are more creative and more fun. Be it a boat race where you get good rewards, a tower defense mode, rhythm game etc. PGR has had some of this in the past, but in my opinion never as good as Aether Gazer does. Unfortunately, the story is generally presented in a boring visual novel style. In general the presentation of the story is not that good. From Chapter 9 or 10 they slowly start to incorporate cutscenes and the voice actors slowly start to actually talk in the story, but for the most part you are usually allowed to read for 10 minutes until you are allowed to fight for 3 minutes, and then again for 9 minutes can read. It's almost like Arknights.
I downloaded this from their website, and while it was downloading, 2 viruses were blocked. The game finished installed and it worked but i was afraid to keep it. Did you experience the same problem? (its not available from playstore in my region, or steam/epic games)
I didn't get the same warnings. I'm not really sure if these viruses were falsely flagged because my antivirus does that sometimes as well, but for other games or programs.
PGR is deffinitly my favorite Action game So its honestly sad that its a Gacha instead of a normal game because MAN they raised the standard way too high for being one Other than PGR the only gacha that has similar feelings to me is Limbus Company, which is even sadder since the Devs LITTERALY made 2 Non Gachas being Lobotomy Corp and Library of Ruina where all of them are HIGHLY UNDERAPRECIATED games including Limbus
I don't know if this was ever mentioned, but how's the energy system? This usually turns any game period into a chore (timed currencies used for progression, basically whatever system that is designed to keep players coming back every week on reset to grab their points to spend, etc etc, just a general description, energy is just another form of this). (Time management related stuff) Personally I have time to keep up with games, but mobile games don't take precedent over other stuff I have going on, I have a PC but I'd rather spend my GPU cycles on games I actually dedicate myself to. I doubt this'll ever get a console client even though it seems ripe for it, maybe I'll just upgrade my phone. XD - With that said, if I bother to care enough, I might just play it on PC.
I quit Genshib because hoyo refuses to give me Cloud Retainer. Just to end up butt being hurt because Kuro gives me Crimson Abyss instead of Balter. (I got CW and her weapon but still...)
Good weighted review. I'd also emphasize lackluster presentation for the story. While visual novel style narration is a given, absense of voiced dialogues and more varied stills/animations, few cutscenes, really hurts the game.
It’s both good and bad if there where a lot itd need WAAAY to much storage so limiting the animated cutscenes greately decreases the amount of storage it actually needs which is good bc of how big the game is genshin needs 27gb and honkai isn’t far behind so limiting the animated cutscenes this games rly good for a lot less storage
I have to say, excellent review. Allow me to share my experience, I played the game on day 1 for global, however the UI was too cluttered for my taste, and the biggest culprit is the font size and font type they've used, making it not very enjoyable to read on a phone (pre PC client released). Furthermore like you've mentioned in your review, the first few chapters are too much lore dump, which makes it poor story telling. With your review I might give it a try again, so satisfied my need for much more adrenaline gameplay.
The story might be a down for new players because it doesn't have animation so new players need to read it just text, aside from that the gameplay is 10/10 including weekly and events
PGR is great, however the gameplay with random orbs is a bit annoying I found I enjoy static skills more as I don't like doing math in games. Can't wait for Wuthering Waves because nobody is better at creating as good combat as Kuro.
The thing I really like abiut this game is how little time investment it requires... I've played quite alot of Gacha games and this game is the game where dailies and weeklies aren't a drag to do...
The gacha isn't Great for gacha addicts who are looking for getting earlies and stuff like that The rates are VERY bad at 0.5% but they are compensated by lower pity & 100% rate up for new characters which i personally love over something like what arknights have with 2% for 6 star but no 100% guarantee until 120 and that too doesn't carry over (and they only added that recently, it didn't had that for almost 4 years)
10:50 Did this man just pull Alya when the most anticipated character is coming out next patch?(Jk) Remember guys, don't worry 'bout meta. As long as you have fun it's all that matters.
One thing i don't like is the distortion and vibration? When fighting enemies specially using someone like Alpha Makes it very hard to see what's going on And from what i have seen they have actually improved this a lot in wuthering wave I hope they improve it or atleast give us an option to disable it in pgr
Hmm , anyone here thinks that Aether Gazer better than PGR? I played both and tbh liked first one more. Mostly style , gameplay ( even if its kinda similar to pgr , felt smoother for me ).
Hyperreal's chapter really reopened that wound. They'll make her an A rank someday if we keep telling Kuro that we want her. We are in desperate need of an A rank fire tank after all.
It's seem like you are not gonna replace Dawn with Crimson weave. Am I wrong? What's your plan. Btw,My biggest problem with PGR is Kuro still not giving Lucia of the Gray Raven more strong frame. I know Lucia is Lucia and Plume is a great one but I want my girl to join the Broken's party. PGR suck until my Gray Lucia get a broken frame. You can't change my mind 🤪
It's a nice game but there are many details i have found lacking. Forced to play like 100 stages of story mode to unlock the good stuff or even daily missions... So many currencies overwhelm a new player... Tutorial locked behind player level??? Don't remember the tutorial telling me about matrix mode coverting any ping into a 3 ping. Could be me problem but not sure Game never explains where to get weapons other than gacha shop so you may be tempted to waste pulls into the weapom banners if you don't know better Game never tells you what stats do, is def a flat reduction or a percentage based on a logarithm you never gonna show us? What about CRIT? Wording for the extra damage bonus is super wonky, increase extra damage bonus by 2% one would think it means it increases an already existing damage bonus, but no its +2% damage, plain and simple... So many alters of characters >.> Beginner missions are in 4 places, missions, guide, and those 2 daly check in missions unlocks... I dont mind the rewards but was it really necessary to split them in 4? Ui can get frozen very often, I had to use the failsafe mechanism because the blonde girl tutorial was bugged and didnt let me continue playing. Phone client nags about 2gb ram when my phone has 4 gb??? And finally, Its not even out on my country, had to sideload the damn thing 😂 So many little details that it makes me want to stop playing but for now i will keep going on...
Honestly this game is f2p only for those who don't aim to get anything other than the basic character. Punishing gray raven will become less and less f2p as time goes by with each patch you will lose positions from time to time. How do I know all this? I'm f2p and play pgr.

Welcome to PGR. Nice review.
That Gabriel fight with Hikari as soundtrack is always hype as fuck.
Anything with Hikari is awesome not gonna lie
Bro do more videos like this, you are very good at explaining games. And you have a nice sense of humor. 👍
Makes sense, it'd likely cost too much for them to sustain with the gacha system they've chosen for the game
Welcome new commandant, glad to see PGR fanbase is increasing
10:48
For new and f2p I would like to say that do not pull on the new Ayla banner. She is free just do the event. Save for the next banner instead.
I know that it is just for the video but damn it hurts my soul a bit when I saw this. You could pull if you want, I don't decide on what you should pull or not just telling players about things that they might not know.
PGR is that game where they ignored the “boss is crap when playable” meme
You totally sold me on PGR as well as dispel any misconceptions I might have on the game
there are 2 gacha games that truly don't feel like gacha games but like actual games plastered with a gacha system on them
pgr and arknights
despite arknights having over 200+ operators and looking like your average gacha game with no actual gameplay, it is easily the hardest gacha game and one of if not the most enjoyable gacha game in terms of gameplay despite being a 2d tower defense, as it takes nearly everything you know about tower defense, and chucks it out of the window, then throws at you a bunch of bs mechanics and gimmicks that make you lose your irl sanity, just like how sanity is the stamina of arknights
the story of arknights is also easily one of the best in gachas while also being praised by an award winning writer
alongside another fact that arknights has like the most amount of content in a gacha game
Love this game im so excited for wuthering waves!
I am a few days new, you're overview was very well thought out. Its very overwhelming right now, but so is any other game that has been updated for 3 years. The combat makes me very sad I spend so much time in some other games, where your only choice is to fight pretty much in the same fashion over and over.
Omg this is and Alter Ego are my fav game mobile games. I love them so much. Great reviewing for them
I started pgr today , the story is pretty dark and pretty good, the combat is amazing, so many characters and they all play different, the animations and combos are top notch , there are so many events to fight and test yourself, and they give you quite a lot of free stuff, i love it
Bro did more advertising in a single video then Kuro did in the entire development of PGR
Punishing Gray is the best gacha until WW comes out. I wish nothing but success on everyone at Kurogame.
This is a good review, while i have been playing this game on and off. I recommend grinding the game out till next week so the actual battle goddess will come out 👍
Like commented and subscribed 👍
Best combat
after reaching a certain progress this game becomes really life friendly, the time needed to do everything is not much if you don't want the highest possible score.
We need more content like this
The gacha in this game is more like buying it rather than pulling based on luck
Loved this game even more after getting a balter from a free pull this morning!
That was a clean outro.
This... this is GOLD.
You need to unlock PPC and Warzone.. Those REALLY help for getting BCs.
@@M16_Akula-III yeah, thanks to the guide system I'm like level 69 now. Still not that knowledgeable about the game, but I've been really enjoying those game modes. And since I got her in my first pull, managed to get LCW to SS yesterday!
@otsdarvafoxxfyre5182 NICE. Mine's still stuck at S but she's 6450 BP 😭
@@otsdarvafoxxfyre Also finish Chap.13 faster if you don't want to be held back
this is probably the only gacha game that I've played where I have every unit in the game be it Uns or Omns with only spending worth 3 monthly passes, heck I've even took a break for several months
Try snowbreak I have every char pure f2p 😅
Downloaded the game yesterday and have no idea how to actually play (still). lol Tried doing the character tutorial with Bianca-Stigmata and the 6-ping system is not explained at all here. Visual learning is 100% the way because I'm looking up tutorials now on it just to understand how to set it all up. Cool video, Angel! Thank you!
Its confusing at first but most character plays similarly with their specific gimmick
for those who are starting now the story gets very interesting from chapter 11 and forward. It's visual novel heavy
Try getting back on Wuwa then...Dreamless ost and boss fight was nice, but....In PGR when the ost "Dust" hits in Ch. 11 (i think) you pause just to listen to the music
I hope they keep the pulling the same for Wuthering Waves, but since the budget is way higher for that they probably won’t
They’re not. It’s essentially gin impact system.
@@Phillipmurr its not lol the weapon banner is 60 pulls and the rate is 100% and the character banner is 60 pulls and 50/50
@@jwkwkwkwmenenen70 really. That’s awesome I’ve heard otherwise.

3:30 Aged like Milk, but that's a good thing!
While its super fun(new player), the explanations for things were a bit lacking. Learnt more about the battle system from you than the game 😂 Thanks for the awesome review!
PGR is a truly GOATed game indeed 👍🏻
Based Pgr enjoyer
Been playing for over a year, didn't k'ow you could see Matrix on the Dodge Icone, does it show Stigmata's matrix too ?
It does, in purple
"Need a really good dose of dopamine and all you have is your mobile device at the moment "
Drugs..? 🤷
First of all I love the review! Thank you Angelmin! But most of all! Based Es-lover!
I'm not really sure if these viruses were falsely flagged because my antivirus does that sometimes as well, but for other games or programs.
i understand. The virus was called Trojan:blue teal! while the game was installing@@angelmin8819
PGR is deffinitly my favorite Action game
So its honestly sad that its a Gacha instead of a normal game because MAN they raised the standard way too high for being one
Other than PGR the only gacha that has similar feelings to me is Limbus Company, which is even sadder since the Devs LITTERALY made 2 Non Gachas being Lobotomy Corp and Library of Ruina where all of them are HIGHLY UNDERAPRECIATED games including Limbus
I don't know if this was ever mentioned, but how's the energy system? This usually turns any game period into a chore (timed currencies used for progression, basically whatever system that is designed to keep players coming back every week on reset to grab their points to spend, etc etc, just a general description, energy is just another form of this).
(Time management related stuff)
Personally I have time to keep up with games, but mobile games don't take precedent over other stuff I have going on, I have a PC but I'd rather spend my GPU cycles on games I actually dedicate myself to. I doubt this'll ever get a console client even though it seems ripe for it, maybe I'll just upgrade my phone. XD
- With that said, if I bother to care enough, I might just play it on PC.
I just got Bianca Stigmata is it good
She is the top meta physical dps
Ypu got from base banner ? Nice
@@JustLion890 The Advance Banner
I quit it a few months ago, but now after watching so many videos saying how good pgr is, I decided to come back 😅😅
I just started playing pgr and also i am player of wuthering waves with lv.68
Have I found another Es enjoyer? ☕️
With your review I might give it a try again, so satisfied my need for much more adrenaline gameplay.
yes. I feel like PGR is such an amazing game. skill issue aside, I enjoyed it
Is there voice acting for the story scenes as well, or is it only for gameplay?
New player here, but looks like combat only
Anyone know a youtube channel that will read this game to me? Lol
They should make manga about this game...
The thing I really like abiut this game is how little time investment it requires... I've played quite alot of Gacha games and this game is the game where dailies and weeklies aren't a drag to do...
Noice review
Thanks!
I wanna start playing this game, is the combat that hard?
The game starts out easy, but skill is needed for weeklies and optional, harder content
The gacha isn't Great for gacha addicts who are looking for getting earlies and stuff like that
The rates are VERY bad at 0.5% but they are compensated by lower pity & 100% rate up for new characters which i personally love over something like what arknights have with 2% for 6 star but no 100% guarantee until 120 and that too doesn't carry over (and they only added that recently, it didn't had that for almost 4 years)
10:50 Did this man just pull Alya when the most anticipated character is coming out next patch?(Jk)
Remember guys, don't worry 'bout meta. As long as you have fun it's all that matters.
The footage needed to come from somewhere!
A game where the main character dies. Rip Lotus
I've been playing this game since day 1 Global. It's the only gacha game I've never dropped temporarily
One thing i don't like is the distortion and vibration? When fighting enemies specially using someone like Alpha
Makes it very hard to see what's going on
And from what i have seen they have actually improved this a lot in wuthering wave
I hope they improve it or atleast give us an option to disable it in pgr
You know you can adjust that in the settings right?
Hmm , anyone here thinks that Aether Gazer better than PGR? I played both and tbh liked first one more. Mostly style , gameplay ( even if its kinda similar to pgr , felt smoother for me ).
Nope! While the game has a better feel overall than PGR, Combat wise, nothing beats PGR! AG is too casual!
welcome to the most relaxing waifu gacha game..

Does this game have mobile controller support?
Apparently so, but I'm not sure which.

Lmao bridgette copium
Truly
Hyperreal's chapter really reopened that wound. They'll make her an A rank someday if we keep telling Kuro that we want her. We are in desperate need of an A rank fire tank after all.
@@TsorovanZero oh is there no A-rank fire tank? Huh didn't notice that
I want Ishmael 😔
It's seem like you are not gonna replace Dawn with Crimson weave. Am I wrong? What's your plan.
Btw,My biggest problem with PGR is Kuro still not giving Lucia of the Gray Raven more strong frame. I know Lucia is Lucia and Plume is a great one but I want my girl to join the Broken's party. PGR suck until my Gray Lucia get a broken frame. You can't change my mind 🤪
I'll see when CW releases, maybe I'll replace dawn when she's fully built. Until then, dawn it is.
Lucia is out of the meta on cn rn so i think she ll get a new frame soon, maybe after wanshi
Im sad i missed nier characters 😢 in collab
Super f2p friendly 5 5 star s rank character in 6 days . Including biyanka stagmata and free pulls for licia crimson weave for free
5:11 hahaha
It's a nice game but there are many details i have found lacking.
Forced to play like 100 stages of story mode to unlock the good stuff or even daily missions...
So many currencies overwhelm a new player...
Tutorial locked behind player level???
Don't remember the tutorial telling me about matrix mode coverting any ping into a 3 ping. Could be me problem but not sure
Game never explains where to get weapons other than gacha shop so you may be tempted to waste pulls into the weapom banners if you don't know better
Game never tells you what stats do, is def a flat reduction or a percentage based on a logarithm you never gonna show us? What about CRIT?
Wording for the extra damage bonus is super wonky, increase extra damage bonus by 2% one would think it means it increases an already existing damage bonus, but no its +2% damage, plain and simple...
So many alters of characters >.>
Beginner missions are in 4 places, missions, guide, and those 2 daly check in missions unlocks... I dont mind the rewards but was it really necessary to split them in 4?
Ui can get frozen very often, I had to use the failsafe mechanism because the blonde girl tutorial was bugged and didnt let me continue playing.
Phone client nags about 2gb ram when my phone has 4 gb???
And finally, Its not even out on my country, had to sideload the damn thing 😂
So many little details that it makes me want to stop playing but for now i will keep going on...
Honestly this game is f2p only for those who don't aim to get anything other than the basic character. Punishing gray raven will become less and less f2p as time goes by with each patch you will lose positions from time to time.
How do I know all this? I'm f2p and play pgr.
I mean, it is just a leaderboard.
All gachas with leaderboard are like that, otherwise whales won't put money on them.
